Jason, I Came to See You

1/4/2026

Ever since Sherry Yuan left for Six Saints Town with Yina Yin and the others, Sam Shang hadn’t heard a word about her.

They were gone for half a year, and when they came back, Sherry Yuan was constantly busy and hard to track down. Sam Shang tried several times to visit Yina Yin as an excuse, but never managed to see Sherry.

Just when Sam Shang thought she’d never see her again, Sherry Yuan came in from outside, looking travel-worn.

Sherry Yuan glanced at Sam Shang, hesitating for a moment.

Cherry Miller said, "Sam isn’t an outsider."

Ethan Yin nodded.

Only then did Sherry Yuan speak: "I followed the leads left by those fanatics from the Field Family and tracked down the mysterious account. The account’s owner is just a regular wealthy businessman—nothing seemed off. I pretended to be a trust company employee and brought up the account, but he looked genuinely surprised and said he’d never opened such a bank account."

Cherry Miller frowned. "So you’re saying, the account is clearly under that businessman’s name, but he didn’t open it himself?"

"Yes," Sherry Yuan nodded.

Cherry Miller looked at Ethan Yin and said, "Ethan, this whole thing feels weird! Who would put money under a stranger’s name for no reason? And the owner still hasn’t noticed the account exists?"

Ethan Yin tapped his fingers on the table and said, "Sharon Yun told me all that money flowed into this account, and every transaction went out from it. This whole thing sounds familiar, but I just can’t place it."

Sam Shang, who was sitting nearby, suddenly spoke up: "Bro, I just remembered something—maybe it’s related?"

Ethan Yin and Cherry Miller both looked over at her.

Sam Shang lowered her gaze to her cup of tea and said slowly, "I remember Grandma mentioning once, about eighteen years ago, there was a genius-like man who could disguise himself as anyone and use their identity to do all sorts of things. His name was Adrian."

Cherry Miller and Ethan Yin’s eyes suddenly went wide!

Ethan Yin shot up from his seat and rushed out: "I’m going to see Aunt!"

Cherry Miller jumped up too. "I’ll go find Madam!"

In no time, only Sam Shang and Sherry Yuan were left in the room.

Sherry Yuan was just about to get up and leave when Sam Shang quickly called out, "Thirteen!"

Sherry Yuan looked up at him. "Sam, what is it?"

"You promised me you wouldn’t call me Sam, but whatever—call me what you want." Sam Shang was truly helpless; no matter how many times he corrected her, Sherry Yuan always kept her distance.

"It’s nothing, really. You must be exhausted lately, huh?" Sam Shang seized the moment to bond with Sherry Yuan. "Do you have any free time soon? I’d like to treat you to dinner."

Dinner again?

Sherry Yuan gave Sam Shang a strange look.

This noble young master sure is obsessed with dinner.

"That depends on Ms. Miller’s schedule," Sherry Yuan replied.

Everyone around Yina Yin has to follow Cherry Miller’s arrangements, and Sherry Yuan’s no exception.

Sam Shang immediately said, "Then I’ll ask Ms. Miller to give you a few days off, so you can get some proper rest, okay?"

Sherry Yuan looked at Sam Shang in confusion.

What kind of weird behavior is this?

Why does she need to rest?

"Don’t get the wrong idea. I just think you’ve had it pretty tough lately. And I know a new restaurant that’s really good—I wanted to take you there." Sam Shang hurried to explain. "Didn’t you say that as long as you’re free, I can treat you to dinner?"

Sherry Yuan nodded. "Oh."

Sam Shang instantly cheered up. "Then I’ll go find Yina and ask her to approve your leave."

With that, Sam Shang left happily.

Sherry Yuan just smiled and turned to leave as well.

Ethan Yin found Molly Yun and got straight to the point: "Aunt, I have something I’d like to ask you about."

Molly Yun put down her papers, smiled at Ethan Yin, and said, "Sit down, let’s talk."

"Aunt, first I want to know what kind of person Adrian is." Ethan Yin said, "I suspect he’s targeting our family now."

Molly Yun’s smile vanished instantly. She looked sharply at Ethan Yin. "Are you sure?"

Ethan Yin said, "I’m not sure—that’s why I came to ask you."

Molly Yun took a deep breath and said, "Come with me."

With that, Molly Yun got up and led Ethan Yin to the study.

"Tell me everything you know," Molly Yun said seriously.

Ethan Yin immediately told Molly Yun everything Sharon Yun had found out, and all the information Sherry Yuan had uncovered.

Molly Yun nodded and said, "This kind of move is definitely his style. I thought he was gone from this world, but it turns out he’s still alive. He’s the High Priest of the Shadow Tribe, and he’s deeply connected to the Yun Family. Over ten thousand years ago, during the primitive era, the tribe and the Yun Family shared the same origin. Later, the Yun ancestors left the tribe, entered the outside world, and gradually integrated, becoming today’s Yun Family. The Shadow Tribe stayed hidden in the jungle, living primitively. Normally, the two have nothing to do with each other, but when the tribe’s luck ran out, Adrian wanted the Yun Family to continue the tribe’s life. Strictly speaking, the High Priest and the Yun Family’s Astrologer are basically the same thing."

Ethan Yin’s eyes widened. "His target is Sharon Yun?"

"Yes." Molly Yun nodded solemnly. "From the very beginning, he was after Sharon."

A look of urgency flashed across Ethan Yin’s face. "No way, I need to send people to protect Sharon!"

"Don’t worry, Sharon is already protected," Molly Yun said reassuringly to Ethan Yin.

When the kids get along, nothing makes parents happier.

"Eighteen years ago, Adrian was already gravely ill—one foot in the grave," Molly Yun said. "I never thought he’d last until now. That money must’ve been used to buy medicines and prolong his life. As the High Priest, he knows pharmacology best. With enough funds, it’s not hard for him to get life-extending drugs. Ethan—"

"Here."

"If there’s any sudden movement in that account, you must let me know immediately," Molly Yun said more sternly. "Also, I plan to have Sharon lie low for a while."

"Okay." Ethan Yin agreed without hesitation. "Should I find a safe place for Sharon?"

"That’s a good idea." Molly Yun nodded. "Sharon is still young—she’s not ready to face Adrian yet. Better to avoid him for now."

"Aunt, don’t worry. I’ll find a safe place—he’ll never find her," Ethan Yin promised quickly.

"Good, I trust you," Molly Yun said with a smile, though her smile was tinged with helplessness.

Eighteen years.

He still hasn’t given up?

Elsewhere, Cherry Miller found Cecilia Gu and asked her the same question.

Cecilia Gu’s answer was blunt: "Ha, this is exactly the kind of thing Adrian would do. No wonder Miles Field fell for it—if Adrian is behind all this, then Miles really lost fair and square. Adrian is smart and leaves no trace. Even if you wipe out Count Field, you probably won’t catch him. Back then, he had countless fake identities, each with a fully verifiable background. No matter how you checked, the information held up—he hid himself perfectly."

Cherry Miller said, "Such a formidable person—it’s a pity."

Cecilia Gu nodded. "It’s a pity he’s our enemy. Otherwise... Anyway, let’s leave it at that. Don’t pursue this any further, and don’t alert him. Instead of running ourselves ragged, let’s just wait and see. As long as Adrian’s still after Sharon Yun, he’ll show himself eventually! I have to admit, Adrian is truly impressive. He was supposed to die eighteen years ago, but he’s managed to hang on. Still, even now, he must be running on fumes, barely surviving. So, he doesn’t have much time left. He’ll make another move! Now that we know Adrian is behind this, things will be easier."

Cherry Miller asked, "Madam, is there anything you need us to do?"

Cecilia Gu shook her head. "You don’t need to do anything. The contest between the High Priest and the Astrologer isn’t something ordinary people can get involved in. You’re all just regular people—stay out of it."

Cherry Miller was a little unwilling. "So we’re just going to let him covet Sharon Yun?"

Cecilia Gu smiled. "Sharon may be aloof, but she’s no fool. Besides, when the High Priest and the Astrologer face off, who wins and who loses is anyone’s guess!"

The matter of Miles Field’s second personality being awakened was quietly suppressed by the parents working together.
