Do You Want to Earn Merit

With a single sharp shout, the brawling crowd instantly stopped.

One of the young men strolled over, grinning. "So it's Officer Huang on duty tonight?" He glanced at Ian Song. "Hey, this new officer looks unfamiliar. Is he fresh on the job?"

Zack Huang glared and barked, "Shane Shen, can't you behave for once? Even if you want to make trouble, pick a better spot. This is Red Sun Nightclub—do you think you can mess around here?"

Shane Shen hurriedly protested, "Officer Huang, you've got me wrong! I wasn't trying to stir up trouble tonight. I just complained that this place sells fake booze, and then Gavin Jiang insisted there's no way the drinks here are fake. My boys had a few too many, started arguing, and next thing you know, we were all throwing punches!"

"This is the Red Sun Nightclub—how could they possibly sell fake liquor? Shane Shen, you bumpkin, if you don't know good alcohol, then stop shouting nonsense!"

Just then, a skinny youth with earrings stepped forward—clearly, this was Gavin Jiang, the one Shane Shen had mentioned.

Shane Shen, annoyed, pointed at Gavin Jiang. "See, Officer Huang? This guy just wants to argue with me. Why don't you check and see if the liquor here is actually fake?"

"Enough! Everyone, let's head back to the station and talk there!"

Zack Huang barked the order.

"Fine, I'll do as Officer Huang says," Shane Shen laughed.

"Me too. Officer Huang calls the shots," Gavin Jiang chimed in.

"Wait."

Just then, Sakura Ito's voice rang out.

"Officer Huang can take them away, but shouldn't we talk about compensation first?"

"What, you want compensation for selling fake liquor?" Shane Shen shot Sakura Ito a glare. "My brothers got dizzy from your Red Sun's fake booze. We're not even asking you for damages—now you want us to pay up? Are you serious?"

Zack Huang snapped, "You smashed up their stuff, so you have to pay for it. Quit playing games, Shane Shen!"

"So it's just about money? Fine, I’m loaded! Take it!"

With a loud slap, Shane Shen tossed a wad of cash at Sakura Ito's feet, giving her a defiant look. "Miss Sakura, is this enough for you?"

An hour later.

Shane Shen and Gavin Jiang waved goodbye to Zack Huang, leaving the station arm in arm with their crew, all in high spirits.
