After nearly half a year of tearing at the void without success, Joe Di finally ripped open a crack. He dashed into the gap at lightning speed, and in less than a breath, the rift he had created vanished without a trace.
As soon as he entered the crack, Joe Di felt an immense and boundless force sweep him up, leaving him no chance to resist.
Bang! Joe Di felt as if he had fallen from a platform several yards high, plunging into a pool shrouded in white mist.
Joe Di immediately swept out his divine sense, quickly spotting the cultivator who had entered before him. It was a slender young man with dark skin, exuding a powerful confidence.
"Greetings, fellow Daoist," Joe Di cupped his fists to the slender, dark-skinned youth, expressing his gratitude. Perhaps the young man did not know what Joe Di was thankful for, but Joe Di understood clearly. If this youth had not suddenly ascended, Joe Di would never have had the chance to end up here.
The world's vital energy here was concentrated to the extreme, and it was even a higher grade than immortal spirit energy—similar to the energy he absorbed from Dao Veins, yet even more suitable for Joe Di's cultivation.
The slender youth merely glanced at Joe Di, ignoring his words, and immediately closed his eyes to madly absorb the world's vital energy from the pool, refining his own cultivation.
It was clear this youth was exceedingly proud; even though he and Joe Di had ascended together, he paid Joe Di no mind.
Joe Di didn't mind; just now, he had owed the youth, not the other way around. Since the youth didn't respond, Joe Di didn't pursue conversation. His gaze landed on three massive ancient characters: Ascension Pool.
He had actually ended up in the Ascension Pool. Joe Di was astonished—after all his cultivation, this was the first time he had ever seen the Ascension Pool.
Joe Di quickly set these thoughts aside; now was the perfect moment for cultivation.
As soon as Joe Di activated his Rule Cycle, the slender youth sensed it and stared at Joe Di in astonishment. The commotion of Joe Di's cultivation was intense—a massive vortex formed above his head, and the youth could clearly feel Joe Di constantly transforming the world's vital energy and growing stronger by the moment.
After watching for a while, the slender youth also began frantically absorbing the world's vital energy from the Ascension Pool to enhance his own cultivation.
After just one Rule Cycle, the slender youth realized that since Joe Di began cultivating, his own understanding of the Grand Dao's principles had deepened considerably.
Even things that had previously eluded him became perfectly clear. Naturally, he wouldn't let such an opportunity slip by and devoted himself fully to cultivation.
Joe Di had no idea how long he cultivated. When he sensed his cultivation speed increasing once again, a powerful force suddenly swept him up and sent him out of the Ascension Pool.
The moment he left the Ascension Pool, Joe Di's divine sense detected a change in the aura of the slender, dark-skinned youth—it was clearly beyond the Immortal Emperor level. Still, Joe Di could tell the youth hadn't reached the legendary Sage realm.
Joe Di worked hard to use his Rule Cycle to simulate a Dao rhythm aura similar to the youth's, then smiled and nodded at him before checking his surroundings—a grand hall.
This time, the slender youth nodded back to Joe Di; their joint cultivation had benefited him greatly.
Just as Joe Di realized he was in a grand hall, a lazy voice sounded from the entrance: "Since you've come out of the Ascension Pool, hurry up and register. Or do you expect me to personally invite you?"
The speaker was a fair-skinned middle-aged man whose gaze fell on Joe Di and the slender youth, tinged with mockery.
"Name? Which Immortal Realm did you ascend from?" Before Joe Di and the slender youth reached the entrance, the fair-skinned man took out two Jade Protection Tokens, asking questions as he prepared to register them.
Joe Di deliberately lagged a step behind. Seeing himself in front, the dark-skinned youth immediately answered, "Zane Wu, from the Wymu Immortal Realm."
From Zane Wu's reply, Joe Di could tell this slender youth wasn't one for flattery or idle chatter.
Ordinary cultivators in this situation would respectfully address the middle-aged man as 'senior' before introducing themselves. But this youth simply gave a curt reply and said nothing more.
The middle-aged man didn't even look up, simply inscribed something on the Jade Protection Token and tossed it to Zane Wu. "Go report to the wormhole. All the details are on the token."
Report to the wormhole? For a moment, Joe Di almost thought he was back on Earth. The term 'wormhole' originated on Earth, and in Joe Di's understanding, it involved the laws of space and time.
"Name? Which Immortal Realm did you ascend from?" After Zane Wu left, the middle-aged man's gaze fell on Joe Di.
After asking, he muttered to himself in confusion, "Two people ascending at the same time—how rare."
"Zi Mo, ascended from the Wymu Immortal Realm." Without hesitation, Joe Di changed his name and the realm he ascended from.
Before arriving in the Dao Domain, he had already become enemies with Jaden Dai, even killing several of Jaden Dai's agents. Since the Dao Domain was likely Jaden Dai's territory, it would be foolish for Joe Di to use his real name here.
The middle-aged man didn't suspect a thing. After all, Joe Di and Zane Wu emerged from the Ascension Pool together—if they weren't from the same Immortal Realm, that would be odd.
In just a few breaths, a freshly inscribed Jade Protection Token was tossed to Joe Di, accompanied by the same words: "Go report to the wormhole."
Joe Di had a slew of questions, but he wouldn't ask this middle-aged man—he could tell the guy wasn't the talkative type.
"My name is Zane Wu." As soon as Joe Di stepped out, Zane Wu appeared from the side, cupping his fists and introducing himself.

Joe Di understood that Zane Wu repeating his name in front of him was a gesture of wanting to make friends.
"My name is Zi Mo." Joe Di cupped his fists in return. No matter who Zane Wu was, Joe Di was grateful—if not for Zane Wu, he would still be wandering between realms.
Zane Wu was clearly not much of a talker. After saying his piece, he fell silent. After a long pause, seeing Joe Di remain quiet, he finally spoke again: "Brother Zi Mo, as far as I know, Immortal Emperors ascending from the Wymu Immortal Realm are few and far between. I don't recall..."
Joe Di smiled faintly, cutting off Zane Wu before he could finish. "Daoist Zane, I've always been in closed-door cultivation. Thanks to the abundance of resources, I've never gone out for trials. Not only do you not know me, but the total number of Daoists who do probably doesn't exceed ten..."
After a pause, Joe Di continued, "Daoist Zane, I have a friend named Nora Xiu. I wonder if you've heard of her..."
Nora Xiu clearly wasn't on the Four Immortal Continents. Joe Di figured she must have gone to one of the other continents, so he asked Zane Wu from the Wymu Immortal Realm on the off chance he might know.
To Joe Di's surprise, Zane Wu was shocked by his question. After a long moment, he murmured, "No wonder you were able to ascend to the Dao Domain—you actually know Senior Nora..."
"Senior Nora?" Now it was Joe Di's turn to be puzzled. Nora Xiu was younger than him—when did she become a 'senior'? Could Zane Wu be talking about someone else?
Zane Wu's tone grew even more respectful. "After Senior Nora ascended to the Wymu Immortal Realm, she took less than three hundred years to ascend to the Dao Domain. In all the history of the Wymu Immortal Realm, no one has ever matched Senior Nora's talent..."
"Ah..." Joe Di cried out in surprise, then grew excited. Nora Xiu had actually ascended to the Dao Domain—she must have arrived here before him!
(Good night, friends!)
