Imprisoned on the Mountain

Molly Yun heard Adrian's refusal and simply smiled softly. "You'll agree eventually," she said.

After saying that, Adrian left, leaving Molly Yun standing there in a daze.

It was only after Adrian left that Molly Yun realized there was no one in the villa watching her.

Did this mean she could try to escape?

Molly Yun dashed toward the door, flinging it open.

A beam of intense light flooded in.

Molly Yun kept her eyes shut for a long while to adjust, then slowly opened them.

All she saw was emptiness—nothing at all.

Molly Yun stepped out in disbelief, scanning her surroundings. After walking for more than a kilometer, she suddenly stopped.

Ahead lay a vast chasm, cutting her off from the outside world—she was trapped in a tiny, isolated realm.

Molly Yun spun around and, refusing to give up, circled the chasm completely. A chill crept into her heart.

It turned out this villa was perched atop a mountain, with only this one building. The villa was surrounded by empty space, like a lonely island floating at the peak.

The only connection to the outside was a suspension bridge.

In other words, no one needed to watch Molly Yun inside the villa. As long as they kept an eye on the suspension bridge, that was enough.

Molly Yun was utterly trapped.

No wonder there was no one in the villa keeping tabs on her—it was pointless. She couldn't escape anyway.

Molly Yun glanced at the guards stationed by the suspension bridge. She didn’t waste her energy trying to confront them, but turned and headed back into the villa.

She opened all the curtains, letting sunlight pour into every corner of the house.

When she finished, Molly Yun slumped onto the sofa, lost in thought.

She had to find a way to escape.
