Shamanic Ritual

"Uh—well, that's the situation. But those brothers who've been hit are in really bad shape! If we don't find a way to treat them soon, they won't last much longer! Shawn—do you have any way to save them?" Samuel Morin pressed anxiously.

"Oh, I do have a way, but I've never tried it before. Still, things are urgent, so I'll give it a shot!" Shawn Young glanced at the dozens afflicted by sorcery and knew if he didn't act fast, the evil poison would reach their hearts and they'd be done for.

"Great! We don't have any other options anyway, so Shawn, hurry and save them!" Samuel Morin urged.

"Alright!" Shawn nodded and walked over, planning to check the wounded again before using his spell. But just as he was about to start, an elderly doctor from the group blocked his way, frowning and asking, "Hey, young man, what are you trying to do? These people are in critical condition. Our expert team is working on an emergency treatment plan! If you're not a doctor, you'd better not interfere!"

"Uh—these people are under a sorcery spell. I'm afraid you won't be able to help," Shawn said directly to the old doctor.

"Sorcery? Young man, have you been playing too many games or watching too many movies? You need to believe in science! You're still young, so keep your feet on the ground and don't get caught up in superstitions or wild fantasies! Treating patients is real science, so don't mess things up!" The old doctor lectured Shawn like a wise elder.

"Oh? Well, since you're an expert, you must know your stuff. So tell me, what exactly is wrong with these people? Do you have any good ways to cure them?" Faced with the pompous expert, Shawn simply fired back.

"Uh—well! At the moment, we haven't identified the cause of their illness. Our preliminary diagnosis is some kind of schizophrenia! We need more observation and analysis before we can draw any conclusions. Treating patients is serious science! We can't just wing it!" the old doctor answered without missing a beat.

"Schizophrenia?! Aren't you supposed to be an expert? Can't you see how critical their condition is? If you don't act fast, you might not be able to save them!" Shawn frowned at him.

With his hands crossed, Shawn Young interlocked his index and middle fingers, forming the Mudra of Ascension. He summoned his celestial Qing Purity energy and began chanting rapidly: "Divine Lord of Spiritual Treasure, soothe the body, gather the soul, stabilize the spirit! Five organs of mystery, Azure Dragon, White Tiger, assemble! Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise, guard my realm! Scarlet Mouth Spirit, expel filth and foulness! Supreme Star, respond without pause! Eight directions of divine might, radiate primordial light! Clear and bright, mysterious and deep! Spirits manifest, urgent as the law commands—Release!"

As soon as Shawn finished his incantation, he flipped his hands, and a surge of violet light whirled from his palms, transforming midair into a gentle purple mist. The mist drifted down like spring rain, seeping into the foreheads of the dozens afflicted. Instantly, they began to convulse and writhe, flailing their arms and legs, then—almost in unison—opened their mouths wide and spewed out great puddles of foul-smelling black poison: "Waa—waa—waa—!"

Once the black poison was expelled, the minds of those afflicted quickly cleared. Aside from those with severe injuries, the rest were able to stand up, looking around in confusion, as if they couldn't remember what had just happened.

"Phew—done! The rest is up to the doctors and professors now!" Shawn Young withdrew his energy and let out a breath. The spell he'd just cast was the Golden Light Elixir Spell, renowned for banishing evil and restoring souls. Sure enough, it had purged the curse and brought the victims back to their senses.

The crowd of doctors watching from outside were utterly dumbfounded. They never imagined Shawn Young could revive these near-death 'schizophrenia' patients without any medical equipment or drugs—just a few strange words and some hand gestures! If they hadn't seen it themselves, they'd never believe it. Shawn's actions looked exactly like those traveling Taoist priests performing a 'spiritual exorcism!'

"Oh my god! Is this for real? This Johns Hopkins graduate is insane! What kind of treatment is this? I've never even heard of anything like it! Absolutely unbelievable!" Professor Wei stared wide-eyed, completely shocked.

Shawn Young turned with a mischievous grin and said, "Heh—honestly, old man, I'm not some genius from Johns Hopkins. I'm just a bona fide street sorcerer, specializing in good old-fashioned superstition! Hahaha—"

"Ah! I knew it—he looks exactly like one of those village shamans doing spiritual exorcisms!"

"Right? I honestly thought he was some top medical grad, but turns out he's just a Taoist priest—"

"Oh my god—how can someone like that actually heal people!?"

"But—but he really did save them! Oh man, my entire worldview and belief in science just got turned upside down—" The doctors started freaking out, like their brains had just exploded.

"I know, we've got plenty of doctors working hard to save them. Time is precious, young man, stop bothering us!" The old doctor grew impatient, and the others chimed in, "Young man, this isn't your business, stay out of it!"

Shawn Young was stunned. He hadn't expected to be blocked when he was just trying to help. His temper flared, eyes widening, about to argue back—when someone stepped forward behind him. It was Fiona Nangong.

Fiona Nangong walked up to the doctors and politely addressed the lead physician: "Professor Wei, these patients are in critical condition. Mr. Shawn Young is an expert in treating schizophrenia—I've invited him specifically to help. Please, let him try!"

"Oh? So young and already an authority on mental illness? That's impressive!" The old doctor asked skeptically.

"What's wrong with being young? Young people can save lives too!" Shawn Young thought the old doctor was just being stubborn.

At that moment, Samuel Morin rolled forward in his wheelchair and spoke directly to the old doctor: "Professor Wei, Mr. Young is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and has unique remedies for schizophrenia. You know our people are in critical danger and need immediate treatment! If you don't have an emergency plan, let Mr. Young give it a shot!"

"Oh—he's a Johns Hopkins graduate? Well, then let's see what he's got!" Hearing Samuel Morin list Shawn Young's credentials, the doctors immediately changed their attitude and stepped aside.

"Honestly, this is ridiculous!" Shawn Young shook his head, not bothering to explain further. He motioned to Mai Kanda, and together they stepped forward to face the dozens afflicted by the curse.

"Mai, I'm about to cast a spell to expel the evil toxins from their bodies. To prevent the spread, set up a barrier around us, and make sure none of these medical experts interrupt me!" Shawn Young instructed Mai Kanda.

"Got it, Shawn-kun!" Mai Kanda immediately understood, stepped back, and summoned her energy to set up an invisible barrier in the hallway. She stood guard, making sure no one disturbed Shawn.
