Though Evan thought this inwardly, his face showed a troubled expression. He glanced at Lena Zhong and asked, "What do you think?"
"Doesn't matter to me. It's just a meal, isn't it? Honestly, even if I didn't say anything, you'd have agreed in your heart. Getting invited by a beauty is a rare chance, you know." Lena Zhong said with a half-smile.
"Aren't you a beauty too? Why so little confidence in yourself? Think your charm isn't enough?" Evan laughed.
"Stop pretending. You think I don't know what you're up to? Just because I'm nice to you doesn't mean I'll fall for you. With your current strength, you really aren't my type." Lena rolled her eyes at Evan. This guy always thinks he's irresistible the moment you show him a little kindness. After these days together, she knew Evan's personality inside out.
Is that really true? Maybe only Evan himself knows. He's been through so much with women—maybe he's already a killer in this department. Handsome looks, witty words, and terrifying talent make him the white knight countless girls dream of.
Soon it was Evan and Lena's turn. By luck, there was a vacant table inside, so they sat down. The purple-clad young lady and her maid also sat down at the same table.
Lena and the maid sat facing each other, Evan and the purple-clad young lady did the same. The four sat in silence, quietly sizing each other up. Only when the Immortal Porridge was served did the staring contest end—making for a rather amusing scene.
"Evan, you have to drink Immortal Porridge while it's hot for the best effect. Why not give it a try!" Lena said.
Evan glanced at Lena in confusion, then picked up his bowl and downed the porridge in a few gulps—didn't even use the spoon. The three girls stared at him, dumbfounded.
The porridge had just come straight from the pot and was scalding hot. Even though everyone here was strong, eating something that hot was no joke. Lena actually wanted Evan to embarrass himself in front of the purple-clad young lady, but to her surprise, he finished it in a flash.
Evan glanced at the three girls and said, "Why are you all looking at me like that? Did I eat too fast or something? Lena, didn't you say to drink it while it's hot? I hope I didn't scare you!"
All three girls rolled their eyes—this guy was such a good actor, and his expression was so convincing you couldn't tell he was faking. "Evan, want another bowl? How do you feel now?"
"Better not. Honestly, I don't feel much after eating it—just warm, but no obvious boost in strength. Still, I have to thank this young lady for her generous treat. I hope next time I get to treat you!" Evan said to Lena, but his gaze was fixed on the purple-clad young lady.
"You want a next time? Do you even know your own status? My lady isn't someone you can just invite out. Since you've finished eating, you'd better leave. It's not that we don't want to spend more time with you, but staying will only bring you trouble." the maid Penny said.
Evan and Lena were both taken aback, but the purple-clad young lady said, "Please don't blame Penny for her bluntness. But she speaks the truth—this time Penny and I snuck out. If our family finds out, it could get very troublesome."
"If that's the case, we'll be on our way. Until next time!" Evan didn't say more, just stood up and left.
After Evan and Lena left, the purple-clad young lady said, "That guy isn't simple. He's only at early-stage God-Lord right now, but I believe even late-stage God-Lords might not be his match. If this were Rainbow Court, I might genuinely try to befriend him, but here, it would only bring him harm."
"How can you be so sure, miss? That guy feels like a total flirt to me. Early-stage God-Lord beating late-stage God-Lord? I wouldn't believe it even if I was beaten to death. He already has a girl with him but can't stop staring at you. If this wasn't Azure Moon City, I'd have dug his eyes out myself," Penny said.
"The girl with him is also a beauty. Even in Rainbow Court, there aren't many who could match her. But that boy keeps her at arm's length, while she's the one trying to please him. What does that tell you? It means his status isn't low. The strangest thing is, he's got the rare Icefire Eye.
Others might not know, but I do. When he looked at me, my internal icefire essence spirit started throbbing violently. That only happens when I meet the gaze of someone with the Icefire Eye. People really can't be judged by appearances." the purple-clad young lady said.
"Is he really as amazing as you say? Should we send someone to check out his background? Since he's in Azure Moon City, he must be headed to Rainbow Court for the auction—maybe even for your Marriage Tournament. Everyone knows you're a famous divine goddess in the God Realm, but honestly, his strength is pretty low. He probably won't make it through the trials." Penny said.
"Just now you were all fierce, and now you change your tune? What am I going to do with you?" the purple-clad young lady laughed.
"Miss, do you think I don't know you? Can you really say you don't like that boy? Normally, you don't even talk to strange men, but you're definitely curious about him. We've been out long enough—let's head back before trouble finds us!" Penny said.
Evan and Lena, of course, had no idea what the two girls were talking about. They were strolling slowly through Azure Moon City, which had plenty of shops selling elemental crystals—even the Treasure Consortium had a branch here, and it was huge.
"Lena, why so quiet? Did I do something wrong?" Evan asked.
"It's nothing. Weren't you going to check out elemental crystals? Azure Moon City has plenty. Which shop do you want to visit?" Lena asked.
"Of course the biggest one. I'm not familiar with Azure Moon City, so you lead the way. I bet Stormtower has more spies here than anywhere else—our every move is probably being watched." Evan said.
"That's for sure. It's all to protect you—Azure Moon City is full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. What if you run into danger? You're Stormtower's honored guest, so think about how you'll repay us!" Lena laughed.
Soon the main streets of Azure Moon City were packed with people. The roads twisted and turned, making it easy for outsiders to get lost—especially since flying was forbidden in the city. You really had no idea how big Azure Moon City was, or where its streets would end.
"Just up ahead is the Treasure Consortium. Maybe you'll find what you need there. Let's go!" Lena said.
