Identity Exposed

Everyone forgot to blame Kevin Chance. Right now, all eyes were on Evan Yang's actions. Evan had already cleared the medicine from Skyler Water's legs, sealed several bleeding points, and said to him, "Bear with it."

Skyler nodded. At least he wasn't bleeding uncontrollably anymore. Evan then began channeling Heaven-Cold Qi and his own fire attribute inside Skyler's body. The fire attribute was destructive, but with Heaven-Cold Qi's protection, Skyler felt less pain and even a sense of relief.

Watching Evan, Skyler was amazed. This treatment method was a first for him. So many people had tried to heal him before, but none succeeded. Now Evan wrapped the fire attribute in a strange qi.

The fire attribute moved through his body, absorbing every lingering fire element inside. Afterward, Heaven-Cold Qi automatically repaired the scars left by the fire.

Selena Water and the others could only pray that Skyler would be all right. Kevin Chance was frustrated—how could things turn out like this? He'd been so confident just moments ago, but now everything was upside down.

Noel Water wanted to speak several times, but Selena stopped him. She knew Evan was treating Skyler and must not be disturbed.

Though Evan said it would take several hours, for them it felt like an eternity. Skyler's complexion gradually returned to normal, no longer pale as before.

Finally, Evan withdrew his hand and said, "Rest for three days. After that, I'll reopen the meridians in your legs, and you'll be able to move freely."

"Really?" Skyler asked skeptically. It wasn't that he didn't believe—after so many years, so many hopes and disappointments, he was numb. After Kevin's failure, it was even harder to believe he could stand again.

Selena and the others were doubtful too, but at least they felt reassured—Skyler wasn't in any danger now. Noel finally asked, "Big brother, can he really be cured?" "Yes," Evan nodded.

Selena, still upset about the earlier events, couldn't accept letting go of someone who nearly harmed her brother.

'Let him go,' Skyler said.

Selena could only say, 'Consider yourself lucky. You can leave, but you must stay.'

Hearing this, Kevin Chance patted Evan and said, 'Thanks.'

'You're welcome,' Evan replied.

'Contact me after you get out. Here's my contact info,' Kevin said, handing Evan an address before leaving. Selena looked at Evan and said, 'I hope you can heal him. Otherwise, you'll have to pay double—twenty thousand years.'

'If I can't heal him, I'll accept a hundred thousand years,' Evan said.

'You really have backbone,' Selena said. Skyler's gaze at Evan grew more intense—he felt Evan was too similar, not just imagining things.

To test his suspicion, Skyler's expression suddenly changed. 'Who are you really?' he demanded.

Skyler's sudden outburst startled Selena and Noel. Evan was shocked, too—had Skyler really recognized his identity? But that shouldn't be possible.

Noel looked at Evan curiously. "Big brother."

Evan wondered how he’d been exposed, so he wanted to know. He also knew that although the Water Clan hated his father, they wouldn’t harm him—he was the only one who could cure Skyler now. Evan asked, "I want to know, how did you recognize me, senior?"

Evan’s words made everyone on the scene look at him with hostility, and their good impression of him gradually faded.

"I didn’t expect it, but it’s true." Skyler laughed, though his laughter sounded bitter.

"So you guessed, senior?" Evan said in surprise.

"That’s right, kid. I guessed. I’m Skyler Water. Ever since Liam Yang injured me, I’ve remembered his eyes, every word and action. If not for him, I wouldn’t be like this. But your gaze and tone are just like his. How could I not suspect?" Skyler said with a smile.

Selena was furious. "Despicable Yang Clan villain, you actually sneaked in! Watch how I, Selena Water, deal with you!"

Seeing Selena about to attack, Evan said, "If you don’t want Skyler’s legs to stay crippled, don’t do this."

Evan’s words worked on Selena, making her stop immediately. Skyler snorted, "Little sister, don’t accept Yang Clan charity. Just seize him and let Father deal with it."

"But brother, only he can treat you right now," Selena said. "Treat me? Just don’t make it worse!" Skyler said, not believing.

"But brother, the dream," Selena reminded him. "Don’t mention the dream—that’s unrealistic. If he’s from the Yang Clan, I won’t accept treatment. Just seize him," Skyler said angrily.

Seeing Skyler so stubborn and Selena needing his help, Evan said, "It was a misunderstanding back then, not targeted at you, senior. You don’t need to be so angry."

"There was no misunderstanding. I lost, and that’s that. But I don’t need Yang Clan charity. Get out!" Skyler said angrily.

The anger in the room peaked. Selena didn’t know what to do, so she quickly said to Noel, "Go get your grandfather."

Noel sensed the tense atmosphere and hurried off to find someone.

On the scene, Evan, Skyler, and Selena stood there.

Skyler couldn’t move and was furious, unsure what method Evan used. Selena, after Evan’s explanation, couldn’t attack him. Evan knew he had to clear up the misunderstanding between the Yang and Water Clans before he could continue.

Noel made his way through long corridors and up many steps, finally arriving at a refined room. He pushed the door open and saw an old man sitting on a stone, eyes closed.

When Noel entered, the old man opened his eyes and said, "Noel, didn’t you see Grandpa was cultivating? Why are you so naughty?"

"Grandpa, Grandpa, something big happened," Noel said, panting.

"Something big? Did your aunt pick a husband?" the old man asked.

"Yes—no," Noel stammered, unsure how to explain.

"What do you mean yes and no? Explain," the old man said suspiciously.

"I don’t know how to say it. Grandpa, just come with me," Noel said, grabbing the old man’s hand and rushing him along.

The old man didn’t understand why Noel was in such a hurry, but he followed. Soon, they arrived at the room where Evan and the others were.

Seeing the tense atmosphere, the old man asked, "What’s going on with you all?"

Evan looked at the unfamiliar old man, but judging from his tone, he must be the Water Clan Patriarch.

Selena relaxed a bit when she saw her father arrive. She quickly said, "Dad, you take charge." "Take charge of what?" the old man asked, confused.

"Dad, he can heal brother, but brother won’t let him," Selena said. "What? He can heal him?" The old man was overjoyed. For years he’d hoped his son could stand again, but nothing worked. Now, a stranger claimed he could heal him—he was ecstatic.

But Skyler’s words ruined his excitement: "He’s from the Yang Clan."

"What?" The old man exclaimed.

Evan knew this was the Water Clan Patriarch, so he greeted him politely. "Patriarch Water." "Who are you really? Are you here on behalf of the Yang Clan?" the old man said coldly.

Evan shook his head. "I don’t represent anyone. I’m just myself. If you’re prejudiced against me, senior, his injury will never be healed."
