Mason Liu’s Treacherous Scheme

2/14/2026

"Everyone out." Logan Liu laughed loudly.

The patrons, annoyed by the presence of these Fiend Palace enforcers—especially after being thrown out several times today—were puzzled. Still, faced with the Punishment Order from the Fiend Palace’s Crimson Sanction Hall, they had no choice but to disperse, leaving Evan Yang alone at the table, holding his wine cup and watching the group.

Logan Liu led the crowd over to Evan Yang, grinning, "Well, kid? Who do you think is still protecting you now?"

"Your information is pretty accurate. Or is it that you deliberately sent her away?" Evan Yang showed no fear, instead smiling.

"You’re smart. Of course we sent her away. So, are you going to come quietly, or resist?" Logan Liu said smugly.

"I haven’t broken any rules. If anything, someone’s framing me. Isn’t what you’re doing now a violation of the rules?" Evan Yang sneered.

"If you want to explain, do it at the Crimson Sanction Hall. Here, anything you say is pointless." Logan Liu laughed heartily.

"And what if I refuse to go?" Evan Yang smiled.

"Refuse? That’s not up to you." Logan Liu sneered, and the mist-phase Third-Rank expert beside him moved as if to attack Evan Yang.

"Mist-phase, mid-stage," Evan Yang muttered to himself.

"Kid, just come quietly, or I'll show you no mercy." The Crimson Sanction Hall officer snorted coldly.

Evan Yang looked at his expression, and seeing the crowd packed outside, knew that if he fought now, he'd have to reveal his true strength. So he stood up and said, "Fine, I'll go with you."

Seeing Evan Yang not resist, Logan Liu laughed loudly, "Ha! That's what you get for going against me."

The Crimson Sanction Hall officer led Evan Yang away, with Logan Liu following behind. The restaurant was temporarily closed again.

"Kid, as long as you obediently join our Liu Family, I guarantee you'll be fine." On the way, Logan Liu secretly transmitted to Evan Yang, smiling.

Evan Yang had already predicted this tactic, but he would never serve the Liu Family. He smiled back, "Your Liu Family? Not worthy."

"You brat, let's see how long you can keep this up." Logan Liu snorted, repeatedly threatening that without the Liu Family's help, Evan would never leave the Crimson Sanction Hall.

Evan Yang ignored him, pretending not to hear.

Logan Liu, furious, snorted, "Just wait, kid!"

"Are you done rambling yet?" Evan Yang smiled.

"You!" Logan Liu was furious and finally couldn’t hold back, shouting, "Stop!"

No one knew why this Liu Family young master wanted to stop. Everyone looked at him curiously.

"Kid, I already gave you a choice. If you insist on taking this road to ruin, that’s your problem." Logan Liu secretly transmitted, snorting coldly.

Evan Yang didn’t know why he called for a stop, but then heard Logan Liu say to the others, "Go, beat him up first!"

"Are we really going to do this?" the Crimson Sanction Hall officer asked suspiciously.

"He’s got a sharp tongue and dared to insult my Liu Family. Teach him a lesson." Logan Liu was annoyed that Evan Yang was still unscathed, especially since if Evan entered the Crimson Sanction Hall and surrendered, that woman might take him away.

"Isn’t this a bit much?" the Crimson Sanction Hall officer frowned.

"Relax, it’s just a lesson. At worst, we’ll say he resisted and we were just arresting him. What’s the big deal?" Logan Liu replied.

The Crimson Sanction Hall officer didn’t want to offend the Liu Family, so he had to agree, "Fine."

With that, he prepared to give Evan Yang a beating to help Logan Liu vent his anger.

Of course, Evan Yang would never let himself be beaten for nothing—that would be far too humiliating. He sneered, "Want to take me on? You’d better see if you have the strength."

"Three-Bloom Convergence, Great Perfection stage—big words for someone at your level!" The Crimson Sanction Hall officer sneered after sensing Evan Yang’s aura.

"So you think being mist-phase, mid-stage makes you something special?" Evan Yang sneered.

"How do you know my cultivation?" The Crimson Sanction Hall officer was shocked.

"Why all the chatter? Get him!" Logan Liu ignored the two muttering and ordered from the side.

The Crimson Sanction Hall officer thought it over—might as well teach him a lesson, then report back. So he attacked Evan Yang.

At first, he thought Evan Yang was just at the Great Perfection stage of Three-Bloom Convergence and not worth fearing. But after a few rounds, the Crimson Sanction Hall officer realized his opponent was a monster—Evan’s strength kept changing, even growing stronger.

"If you want to attack someone, you’d better make sure you have the ability." Evan Yang knew that fighting here meant going against the Crimson Sanction Hall, but he didn’t regret it. As always, if the hall gave him a chance to explain, he wouldn’t have resisted so quickly. But if they tried to injure him, that was absolutely impossible.

Logan Liu hadn’t expected Evan Yang to be so terrifying—even the Crimson Sanction Hall officer was barely his match. Logan quickly ordered everyone else to help.

The scene quickly descended into chaos, and Logan Liu hurriedly slipped away toward the city.

"Kid, if you keep resisting, you'll lose your chance to explain." Seeing himself unable to defeat Evan Yang, the Crimson Sanction Hall officer cried out in alarm.

"You call this giving me a chance? If you insist on attacking, I'll fight you to the end. If you die, you brought it on yourself." Evan Yang snorted coldly.

Boom! Evan Yang had already dealt with the weaker opponents, leaving only the Crimson Sanction Hall officer struggling to resist, constantly threatening Evan Yang with the hall's authority.

Evan Yang ignored him, growing fiercer with every exchange. Finally, he kicked at the officer’s legs and landed a punch.

The officer was sent flying, finally stabilizing himself and glaring at Evan Yang. "Damn it, you actually dared to resist!"

"If you want to add charges against me, you’d better make sure you survive first." Evan Yang snorted coldly.

The Crimson Sanction Hall officer was shocked and quickly unleashed his strongest aura to fight Evan Yang head-on.

With a loud crash, their fists collided. Evan Yang only felt a slight numbness, but the officer’s bones broke, and he screamed, "You—!"

"I told you, before you attack someone, make sure you have the strength!" Evan Yang snorted coldly.

Just as Evan Yang was about to strike again, a woman in a black dress appeared, stopping him. She grabbed Evan’s hand, her familiar face turning toward him. "It’s time to stop."

"You." Seeing it was the woman, Evan Yang stopped his attack and his aura calmed.

"Good thing I arrived in time, or you would have made a huge mistake." The woman sighed.

The bone-broken Crimson Sanction Hall officer, seeing Evan Yang with the woman, quickly slipped away.

"He started it. I couldn’t just let him beat me up, right?" Evan Yang smiled.

"I know. That’s why I rushed over as soon as I realized what was happening." the woman replied.

"How did you know?" Evan Yang asked curiously.

"When I went back, I saw Mason Liu, then thought about the Crimson Sanction Hall officer, so I hurried over." the woman replied.

"You really did arrive just in time. Otherwise, you’d have seen a corpse by now." Evan Yang clapped his hands and smiled.

"Your strength is truly terrifying." The woman had to admit her admiration after seeing Evan Yang defeat a mist-phase, mid-stage opponent.

"Alright, enough about that. Let’s talk about the Crimson Sanction Hall." Evan Yang smiled.

"The Crimson Sanction Hall’s orders are among the strictest in Fiend Palace, meant specifically for Fiend Palace members. This time, the Liu Family clearly wants to take you down, so they went to the hall." the woman replied.

"So I’m just supposed to let them do this?" Evan Yang had sought out the woman precisely to have her as his backing, so the Liu Family wouldn’t discover his true identity.

"Not at all. Come with me to the Crimson Sanction Hall—I’ll clear your name." the woman smiled.

Evan Yang hadn’t expected the woman to take him to the hall, but he’d rather trust her than the Liu Family. He smiled, "Let’s go."

In Fiend Palace, Mason Liu was shocked and angry to hear that Evan Yang had defeated the Crimson Sanction Hall officer. He’d thought he could lure the woman away and capture Evan, but instead Evan had taught him a lesson.

"Damn that kid." Mason Liu cursed. To catch Evan Yang, he’d humbled himself to seek out the woman’s maid, claiming there was an emergency, and barely managed to trick her away.

Mason Liu knew the woman must now hate him even more.

"He’s gone to the Crimson Sanction Hall." Just as Mason Liu was complaining, a Third-Rank General came to report.

Upon hearing this, Mason Liu hurried off to the hall with Captain Lee and Captain Ling.

At that moment in the Crimson Sanction Hall, the woman was arguing with the elder.

"Elder Cheng, are you saying you’re determined to arrest him?" the woman said unhappily.

"He killed a Fourth-Rank General and injured our Crimson Sanction Hall officer, so no matter what, he can’t be allowed to leave," the steward replied.

"Elder Cheng, you have no evidence and yet claim he killed a Fourth-Rank General. Isn’t that going too far?" the woman snorted coldly.

The steward hadn’t expected the woman to make such a fuss over a Fourth-Rank General. At this moment, he felt stuck and could only reply, "Miss, there are two eyewitnesses, so I issued the order."

"Eyewitnesses? What if you found two people to say I killed the Palace Master—would Fiend Palace and the Crimson Sanction Hall mobilize against me?" the woman snorted coldly.

"Miss, this—" The steward was at a loss for words, as if facing a real problem.

Just then, someone arrived outside—the leader was Mason Liu.

"Miss, are you saying I'm slandering him?" Mason Liu stormed in angrily, though inwardly he was frustrated. He could only act this way; if he backed down, he’d risk being punished for fabricating evidence by the Crimson Sanction Hall.

"I never said you were slandering. I just want to know how credible these two witnesses really are." the woman snorted coldly.

"How is that any different from saying I'm slandering him?" Mason Liu said angrily, though inwardly he felt helpless. "Our relationship was already bad—now it's even worse." He shifted all his resentment onto Evan Yang; if not for Evan's appearance, things wouldn't be so tense between him and the woman.

"So you’re saying I’m defending him?" the woman snorted coldly.

Mason Liu stubbornly rattled off a string of arguments, frustrating the Crimson Sanction Hall steward. He couldn’t afford to offend either party, so he racked his brain, trying to shift the responsibility. He smiled, "Stop arguing. Whether someone's telling the truth or lying, just test it and you'll see."

"How do we test it?" the woman and Mason Liu said in unison. Evan Yang, Captain Lee, and the others were also curious.
