Mysterious Ruins

Evan Lin squinted, looking at Yvette Ye before him.

If he had to name the answer he wanted most, it would be the mystery of being attacked by a dragon after opening Heaven’s Gate, leading to his rebirth.

But this question—Yvette definitely wouldn’t know the answer. If he wanted the truth, he’d have to dig it out himself, step by step.

"Well? You’re in, right?"

Yvette looked at Evan: "No matter what, you want to protect Allen Ju, since he’s your friend—and you can’t always be by his side."

"Just now, whatever happens, I’ve basically vouched for you. If you don’t join Moonshade, I might not have much leverage, but I could still follow you around every day."

Yvette said this with a totally serious expression.

Her words landed in everyone’s ears, and as they watched Yvette stare at Evan, their minds went completely numb.

This Moonshade rep looked like she was dead set on shamelessly latching onto Master Lin from Seacrest, right?

Since when did Moonshade people lower themselves this much? And looking at Yvette’s ‘won’t stop till I get what I want’ face, you’d think Moonshade was terrified of losing Master Lin from Seacrest.

Evan hadn’t said anything yet, but Selina Wu glanced at him: "Why not just agree for now?"

"She’s pretty sincere. You could join first and try it out—if you don’t like it, just leave later."

Selina had full confidence in Evan’s strength, but this time, he’d offended the Upper-Grade Lin Clan after all.

In Selina’s eyes, joining Moonshade was all upside for Evan—plus, it’d keep him safer.

"Yeah, yeah, just agree first. If you end up not liking Moonshade, you can always reconsider and leave."

Yvette kept nodding, looking at Evan: "Actually, Moonshade just found a new Mysterious Ruins."

"Mysterious Ruins?" Hearing this, Evan gave her an extra look.

"Yeah. About all that, I can’t tell you specifics unless you actually join Moonshade. But I can hint: if you do, you’ll probably get a magic artifact."

"A bunch of those magic artifacts came straight from the Mysterious Ruins."

At this point, Yvette stopped talking—but her words sent a shock through everyone present, including Grandpa Ju.

Everyone present knew Moonshade was shrouded in mystery. Those who got in weren’t just strong—they were rare to even spot, most days.

Normally, Nightstar handled most issues. Only when things got out of hand would Moonshade step in—and so far, Moonshade had never met a problem it couldn’t solve.

If Moonshade showed up, whether it was fixing problems or dealing with troublemakers, it was already handled.

As for Hidden Dragon—that was legend among legends.

Moonshade and Hidden Dragon were considered untouchable, drifting outside ordinary circles. What they actually did—almost nobody knew.

Now, after Yvette’s speech, some people looked confused at the mention of the Mysterious Ruins—but when she brought up magic artifacts, everyone immediately understood what the Ruins meant.

Magic artifacts were items with special powers—most were forged by super experts and were incredibly rare. Each one was priceless.

Some magic artifacts could extend your lifespan; others could summon wind and rain, with overwhelming power.

As for any Mysterious Ruins capable of producing magic artifacts, you could bet they held the legacy of an immensely powerful expert.

Yvette finished speaking and looked at Evan.

Selina Wu was stunned for a moment. She’d only wanted Evan to join Moonshade for safety—at least, if he clashed with the Upper-Grade Lin Clan, Moonshade could step in and mediate.

But now, this Mysterious Ruins sounded pretty dangerous?

Selina wasn’t dumb—any place that produced magic artifacts couldn’t possibly be safe.

"Maybe you should think it over again?"

Selina blurted out. She didn’t want Evan taking risks. Compared to Yvette, who looked like she’d drag Evan into Moonshade by force if she could, Selina just felt the Mysterious Ruins were anything but simple.

"Alright, I’ll join."

Evan thought for a moment, then turned to Yvette: "I’ll join Moonshade now, but I reserve the right to leave anytime."

"I hope Moonshade won’t disappoint me."

After Evan spoke, both Nightstar and the Ju family members looked at him.

So impressive.

This Master Lin from Seacrest had turned Moonshade down several times, and now, after finally agreeing, he says, "I hope Moonshade won’t disappoint me"?

The key thing was, Yvette, standing there, didn’t look mad at all after hearing that—instead, she actually seemed relieved.

Moonshade, which outsiders saw as unattainable, now looked like a roadside cabbage—haggled over, hard to recruit, and still getting complaints.

"Alright, give me a bit. I’ll contact you later—then you’re in."

Yvette smiled and reached out to Evan.

Evan shook her hand briefly. Yvette nodded, then turned to Nightstar’s group: "From now on, he’s with Moonshade. If he runs into trouble, help him out."

"If you can’t handle it, let me know and I’ll take care of it. If anyone messes with him during this period, smooth things over."

Yvette spoke with authority, then left without another word.

Nightstar’s group stood there. Night Spring took a deep breath, her face pale but still forcing herself to stand straight. She looked at Evan and apologized sincerely: "Sorry about today."

"If you have trouble in the future, you can contact me directly."

After Night Spring finished, Night Summer, Night Autumn, and Night Winter each stepped forward and apologized to Evan openly, right in front of everyone.

Once they’d spoken, the Nightstar members left one by one.

The courtyard emptied out. Evan looked over at Grandpa Ju again. He didn’t speak, just watched with calm eyes.

Grandpa Ju’s face twitched. Now, everyone was looking at him, waiting in silence.

Moonshade stood with Evan now. Nightstar stood with Evan now. Master Lin from Seacrest was no longer just Master Lin from Seacrest.

Plus, Yvette had guaranteed in Moonshade’s name that the Lin Clan wouldn’t cause trouble.

Grandpa Ju’s mind raced, but at last he made his decision. He took a deep breath, bowed to Evan, then turned to Allen Ju.

"From today, you’re not just Third Young Master Ju—you’re also the third-generation successor to the Ju family headship."

"Ju family prospers with stability, and you, Allen Ju, now truly live up to your name."
