A Hybrid Dog

Evan Xiao mischievously pinched her cheek. "From now on, behave yourself! No more tricks! Otherwise, I won’t mind giving you ten rounds a day!"

Grace knocked his hand away and walked out by herself.

Evan Xiao turned into a streak of light and left for his morning court session.

After court, Leon Zane and Ian Zhu came to see him about some matters.

After they finished talking, Ian Zhu noticed that Leon Zane was still sulking.

"Hey! What's up with you?" Ian Zhu asked.

"Just annoyed," Leon Zane replied.

"Why so annoyed?"

Leon Zane pointed at his own eye.

The bruises on his face had mostly faded, but his eye socket was still a bit black.

"What happened to your eye, anyway?"

"Got beat up," Leon Zane said.

"Oh? In Drake Abyss, besides me, who else would dare lay a hand on you?"

Leon Zane took a deep breath. "Under the King's Spirit Tree, a tigress showed up!"

"Oh... I know who!" Ian Zhu flashed a mysterious smile. "Rina Chu."

"How’d you know?"

"You curse her a hundred times a day. How could I not know?"

"Can you believe it? I’m the Azure Dragon Heir, and I got bullied by a human who hasn’t even ascended! How am I supposed to swallow that?"

"A human who hasn’t ascended... Want to deal with them? Easy!"

Leon Zane and Evan Xiao both looked at him.

Ian Zhu, always full of wicked ideas, beckoned to Leon Zane. "Let me give you a plan that'll have her begging you for mercy on her knees."

"Oh? What plan?" Leon Zane’s eyes lit up.

"That Linglong Jade Tower from last time..."

"It's yours, it's yours!" Leon Zane was obsessed with revenge now. "Just tell me, what's the plan?"

"They haven't ascended yet, so they still need to eat, right?" Ian Zhu said slyly. "What do they eat?"

"They eat Fairy Fruits! I heard that Steward Diao got a special favor from Her Majesty, letting them pick one Fairy Fruit a day... Right, Your Highness?" Leon Zane looked at Evan Xiao.

Evan Xiao nodded.

"The place they pick Fairy Fruits must be that Fairy Orchard behind the King's Spirit Tree," Ian Zhu added.

Leon Zane: "Exactly!"

"Zane, doesn’t your family have a Mutant Celestial Hound? That beast is seriously strong! I bet even if those two teamed up, they couldn’t beat it! Just station it there, and all they can do is stare at the fruit! If they get hungry enough, won’t they have to crawl and beg you for food?" Ian Zhu said.

"Exactly!" Leon Zane slapped the table. "My Blackie is just a Mutant Spirit Beast, not a divine creature, so her Celestial Lash won’t work on him!"

Ian Zhu nodded with a grin.

"Hey! What do you mean, mutt? He's a Mutant Celestial Hound! Mind your words!" Leon Zane suddenly snapped.

"Alright, alright! Mutant Celestial Hound! Mutant Celestial Hound!" Ian Zhu replied. "So... what about the Linglong Jade Tower?"

"I’ll give it to you when we get back!" Leon Zane shot him a sideways glance. "All this for a plan that uses my precious Celestial Hound, and you score a whole Linglong Jade Tower!"

That Linglong Jade Tower was a treasure Leon Zane found last time in Elderworld, and Ian Zhu had been drooling over it for ages.

"Heh! That’s the price of genius!" Ian Zhu tapped his head. "People like you will never get it!"

"I don’t have brains?" Leon Zane nearly spit out his drink. "I just don’t stoop to bullying the weak!"

Ian Zhu rolled his eyes and got up to leave.

Leon Zane turned hopeful eyes to Evan Xiao, plastering on a fawning smile. "Your Highness, the Fairy Orchard behind the King's Spirit Tree has had a lot of thieves lately. If I station Blackie there for a few days, you wouldn’t object, would you?"
