Evan Chu and Goldwing both darted through the opening in the barrier. The moment they passed, the gap snapped shut—if they’d been half a second slower, they might have been trapped inside. Just thinking about that kind of danger sent chills down Evan’s spine.
When Goldwing followed, Evan had already sprinted dozens of meters ahead, leaving only a blurred afterimage behind. Goldwing, despite his own speed, found Evan’s pace downright terrifying.
At that moment, Jenny Sima’s veil was ripped away by the howling wind, revealing her breathtaking face. But her body was locked in place by an invisible force—she couldn’t move at all.
“Heh heh! So you’re a real beauty after all—no wonder you kept your face covered! Not bad, not bad!” The Skyfiend Tiger, now in human form, grinned as he stared at Jenny Sima.
“Let Jenny go, you bastard!” Quinn Wu roared, seeing Jenny Sima suspended in midair by the beast’s human form. He charged, sword flashing, straight at the Skyfiend Tiger.
Watching Quinn Wu attack in a fury, the Skyfiend Tiger just sneered, “A firefly dares to challenge the full moon? Know your place!”
With a casual wave of his hand, a massive force blasted out—Quinn Wu’s sword didn’t even get close before the power swatted him aside, sending him flying several meters.
Quinn Wu scrambled back to his feet, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth—he was clearly hurt.
Only now did the other students truly realize just how terrifying the Skyfiend Tiger was—he’d injured the academy’s fourth-ranked expert with a mere flick of his wrist. How were they supposed to fight that?
Jenny Sima, though unable to move, could still speak. “Let me go, you despicable beast! Release me! If you’ve got guts, let me fight you fair and square!”
“Ha! Little beauty, with your pathetic strength you want to fight me? I could kill you with a flick of my finger. Just give up and be my woman—it’s not a bad deal.” The Skyfiend Tiger sneered.
Zack Zhao, wary of the beast’s strength, couldn’t stand it anymore. “A filthy animal like you wants a woman? What a joke! Look at you—who’d ever want that?”
“Kid, I don’t like your tone. I wasn’t planning to kill anyone, but you’ve pissed me off. You’ll be the first to die today!” With that, the Skyfiend Tiger threw a punch.
Even from at least twenty meters away, everyone could feel the force of the punch tearing through the air—the sound alone made it clear how deadly it was.
Zack Zhao’s face turned grim. As Heavenly Dragon Academy’s number one, he had his reasons for standing at the front. Seeing the Skyfiend Tiger’s casual punch, he didn’t dare take it lightly.
He quickly raised his sword and shouted, “Heaven-Piercing Slash!” Just three simple words, but it was one of his strongest techniques.
A massive wave of invisible sword-qi, charged with starforce, collided with the Skyfiend Tiger’s fist energy ten meters apart.
Boom! The explosion echoed in everyone’s ears, and a violent energy storm erupted where sword-qi and fist force met, shaking the whole battlefield.
The ground split open, forming a crater at least five meters wide. Dirt and stone blasted skyward as the shockwave spread, shrouding hundreds of meters in dust and smoke.
The energy wave blasted outward, focusing most on Zack Zhao’s direction. The shockwave threw him dozens of meters, blood raining from the air before he crashed to the ground, unable to get up.
Even the Skyfiend Tiger, in human form, was forced back several steps, his face turning slightly pale—he’d taken a bit of damage.
“Not bad. That kid’s attack was barely passable. But compared to me, he’s still far too weak. Since I said I’d kill you, I’ll keep my word. The Skyfiend Tiger never goes back on his promises!”
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure appeared right in front of Zack Zhao—moving even faster than Evan Chu’s Shifting Position technique.
Jenny Sima was still trapped in midair by invisible force, forced to watch Zack Zhao’s agony. The helplessness nearly drove her mad.
“Stop! You vile scoundrel, I won’t let you hurt him!” she cried desperately.
If Zack Zhao died because of her, she’d never forgive herself. Even though they barely knew each other, he was fighting for her sake.
“Stop? Fine. As long as you agree to be my woman, I’ll let him go. In fact, I’ll let all of you go.” The Skyfiend Tiger declared arrogantly, as if Jenny had no choice.
“Don’t! Even if I die, you can’t agree! How could a human woman ever belong to a beast?” Zack Zhao suddenly shouted, coughing up blood.
“You talk too much!” the Skyfiend Tiger snapped, raising his palm to finish Zack Zhao off.
Just then, a flying sword charged with starforce shot toward him so fast that he had to use his raised palm to block it—his other hand still holding Jenny Sima captive.
The Skyfiend Tiger swung his fist at the incoming flying sword, but the blade twisted in midair as if alive, curving away and flying back.
“Stop right there!” a voice rang out from afar. Evan Chu’s figure appeared before everyone.
The Skyfiend Tiger’s human form glanced at Evan Chu, surprised by his speed. “Kid, who are you? You’re pretty fast!”
“I’m your grandpa. And who are you? Pretty sure Sea Dragon Academy doesn’t have anyone like you—so you’re a transformed monster, aren’t you? Are you the Skyfiend Tiger?” Evan Chu shot back.
Evan Chu was certain this was the Skyfiend Tiger in disguise—he could feel the overwhelming pressure of a true powerhouse.
“You know me? Good, very good! Didn’t think anyone here would recognize me. Fine, I’ll spare your life today—get lost.” the Skyfiend Tiger said.
“Thanks, but let the girl go and I’ll leave.” Evan Chu replied.
“That girl’s not negotiable. She’s going to be my woman. If you don’t leave now, you know what’ll happen.” The Skyfiend Tiger said impatiently.
“Save me, Linfeng!” Jenny Sima cried out, stunned and overjoyed to see Evan Chu appear.
But as soon as she called out, regret flooded her heart. She’d just dragged him into danger—this beast was terrifying, and even Evan’s talent couldn’t match it. Her shout might have doomed him.
“Do you know who that girl is?” Evan Chu said, struggling to contain his fury.
“Who?”
“She’s my woman. You dared lay a finger on her—there’s only one outcome for you: death!”
Evan Chu roared the final word, his rage exploding as he raised the Frostbane Sword and charged at the Skyfiend Tiger…
