Why would he come shopping at such an ordinary mall?
After finishing her food, Rona Muir wiped her fingers and said, “Let’s go look around. I’ve been scouting a second-tier clothing brand lately, hoping to get the agency. Doesn’t Yin Enterprises have a top-tier brand? When the time comes, don’t be stingy with your advice!”
Cecilia Gu laughed, “Sure, but don’t keep quiet when the time comes.”
The two of them walked ahead, laughing and chatting, with Xiao Wang and the bodyguard following behind.
Most brands in this mall are second- or third-tier, with very few top-tier ones.
After touring the stores, Rona Muir got a good sense of their sales.
Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir were looking at a brand’s new seasonal collection when a familiar voice came from nearby: “Ethan Yin, can you stop bothering me?”
Ethan Yin’s voice came over, “I’m bothering you? Helen Jiang, you asked me to come find you! How is it that I’m the one bothering you now?”
“Didn’t I say another day?” Helen Jiang said angrily. “I told you today wasn’t convenient, so why did you still come!”
“Helen Jiang, do you really think you’re the Jiang Family’s princess? Summon me when you want, dismiss me when you don’t? I may be a Yin Family son, but I’m still family. You’re just the Jiang Family’s adopted daughter, so don’t boss me around. If you hadn’t begged me to come, I wouldn’t have bothered! Now that I’m here, you’re giving me attitude? You’re something else! I’m not that low! Enough, don’t ask me for anything in the future—I can’t take it!”
After saying that, Ethan Yin turned and left.
Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir exchanged looks.
How did those two end up together?
And from the way they’re talking, it doesn’t sound like they’re lovers meeting up.
It seems Helen Jiang begged Ethan Yin to meet, then changed her mind. Ethan Yin came as promised, only to be snubbed.
What’s going on here?
The next second, another voice called out from nearby, “Cecilia? Miss Muir? You’re both here?”
Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir turned around and saw Eric Jiang standing there, looking delighted.
Well, there’s no hiding the fact that they overheard the conversation.
Sure enough, Helen Jiang quickly turned and spotted Cecilia Gu.
Helen Jiang’s face turned very ugly.
She wasn’t sure how much Cecilia Gu had overheard.
If Cecilia Gu spreads what she just heard…
A shadow flashed in Helen Jiang’s eyes.
Eric Jiang didn’t notice the shadow in Helen Jiang’s eyes. He was just happy to see Cecilia Gu here.
“Yeah, I was bored so I dragged Rona Muir out shopping with me to pick up some New Year’s stuff. Even though the housekeepers and Aunt Zhang handle most of it, it’s still fun to pick out some little things myself.” Cecilia Gu replied, “Are you guys shopping too?”
Eric Jiang smiled and said, “I came to find a friend—the general manager of this mall. He happened to be here, so I stopped by. Now that I’m done, I was just about to leave. Are you two going to keep shopping?”
Cecilia Gu smiled and nodded, “Yeah, we just got here! If you have things to do, go ahead.”
Eric Jiang blurted out, “I’m not busy at all.”
Hearing Eric Jiang’s reply, the shadow in Helen Jiang’s eyes grew darker.
Rona Muir seemed to snap out of it and smiled, “If you’re not busy, why not join us? We’re just hanging out.”
Cecilia Gu propped her chin on one hand and looked at Rona Muir, “This is the end of the year—don’t you want to buy anything?”
Rona Muir shrugged, “When I was working, I mostly wore business suits. So all the casual clothes I bought just piled up in my closet—I never had a chance to wear them. Now that I finally have some free time, I should wear what I have before buying more. By the way, Cecilia, your belly’s gotten bigger again.”
Cecilia Gu looked down at her belly, “Yeah, I think I’ve gained weight so fast lately. But the doctor says everything’s within the normal range, and the baby’s healthy, too. I just don’t get it—how come I eat so much, but this little one doesn’t get fat at all?”
Rona Muir rolled her eyes, “Are you showing off?”
Cecilia Gu burst out laughing.
Rona Muir squinted at Cecilia Gu, “I heard Charles Yin’s shadow is back?”
Cecilia Gu teased, “You sure keep up with the news. Yeah, he’s back—he was even fussing over me leaving the house this morning.”
Xiao Wang, the assistant standing nearby, blushed instantly.
That’s her cousin!
Rona Muir mused, “It’s good he’s back—you’re a lot safer now.”
“What do you mean?” Cecilia Gu looked at Rona Muir in surprise. “I wasn’t in any danger when he was gone, was I?”
“Back then, you didn’t have much status, and you weren’t that important. But now, things are different. As a ten percent shareholder in Yin Enterprises, your safety is a top priority. Charles Yin waited so long to bring Xiao Heng back—probably for this exact reason.” Rona Muir explained, “Don’t underestimate Xiao Heng. Do you know what he’s been up to abroad all these years?”
Cecilia Gu shook her head. With all those scars, he probably didn’t have it easy.
Rona Muir lowered her voice, “It’s not really a secret. Shang Ke told me that six years ago, Xiao Heng was sent to the underground boxing rings in Italy. That place is brutal—most people don’t make it out alive. Anyone who survives isn’t someone to mess with. Charles Yin really cares about your safety, so he brought Xiao Heng back. I bet something big is about to happen.”
Cecilia Gu hadn’t expected Rona Muir to explain it that way.
Something big? What could possibly happen?
Could Charles Yin really make a move against the Mo Family because of the Grant and Mo family traditions?
If that’s the case, then… isn’t this way too much?
The Mo Family is a big deal.
Their connections run deep in both the military and politics—messing with the Mo Family means messing with the top.
Charles Yin wouldn’t be that reckless, would he?
It’s fine to play hardball in business, but if he’s thinking about military or political moves…
Yin Enterprises’ foundation isn’t even in China. Unless he plans to give up the domestic market, there’s no way he’d risk everything for a fight. It’s not worth it.
Seeing Cecilia Gu’s confused look, Rona Muir shook her head, “Don’t ask me—I don’t know anything. I’m not interested in snooping. Huh? Isn’t that Ethan Yin? Is he shopping too?”

Cecilia Gu followed Rona Muir’s gaze and saw Ethan Yin standing outside, clearly just arrived from the parking lot.
The Yin Family has people who handle all the shopping—even though Ethan Yin lives out on his own, someone still brings him everything he needs every day.
This is just a regular mall—none of the brands here are big names.
Didn’t Ethan Yin only use luxury brands?
Why would he come shopping at such an ordinary mall?
