Taking Their Seats

1/4/2026

The Divine Race lives far longer than humans.

A person might go through several lifetimes, but the divine maiden is still a child—her height hasn’t even changed.

Plus, they naturally possess an aura and completeness that ordinary people just don’t have—every tiny hair is blessed with the Creator’s perfect gift.

Every time Lily Bai saw these divine maidens, she couldn’t help but sigh: There’s always someone better out there.

It just made her want to cultivate into a demigod even more.

Noticing Lily Bai looking at her, Mia Quinn’s gaze landed on Lily for a split second.

But only for a moment—she instantly looked away.

As if Lily might burn her just by looking.

Mia Quinn acted like this every time she saw Lily.

She never said much to her, either.

Divine maidens probably only speak the same language as other divine maidens!

Those at the demigod, immortal, or high immortal level usually exist in the Divine Realm just as divine attendants.

Basically, they’re just servants.

Naturally, Lily Bai wasn’t about to go out of her way to talk to her either.

The three groups entered Drake Abyss together and arrived at Lord River Drake’s Manor.

Henry Xiao was right—pretty much all three Divine Realms knew it was her aunt’s birthday.

There were a ton of families here to celebrate.

All the major dragon lords and Divine Race families sent favored secondary consorts whose status and cultivation matched her aunt’s.

If a household didn’t have a consort, they sent a divine attendant of real importance.

Divine Realm etiquette and social rules are way less complicated than the human world’s.

But the Divine Realm’s rules are strict as can be.

Status and rank—totally untouchable.

No matter how much Lord River Drake doted on her aunt, there was no way a true god or high god would show up for her birthday.

Because her aunt’s cultivation is only half-immortal.

Still, with so many influential families sending gifts, and Lord River Drake and his wife personally accompanying her, her aunt’s birthday was seriously impressive.

The guest tables were all long carved tables, two seats per table.

Lily Bai arranged for her mother and brother to sit together.

She ended up sharing a table with the Summers-clan Ancestor.

Because the Ancestor’s daughter, Mia Quinn, is a Phoenix Maiden and the Phoenix Clan’s High Goddess’s own niece. Her status is crazy high—so she got seated beside Lord River Drake’s eldest daughter, Snowelle Yuan.

That left an empty seat by the Ancestor, so Lily Bai sat next to him.

After sitting down, she looked around and didn’t see Snow Yuan.

She immediately felt a little annoyed.

No matter what, her aunt is Snow Yuan’s stepmother.

Even Lord River Drake and his wife came, and all his other children were here—except her. She didn’t even show up.

Looks like she still hates her aunt…

But then again, maybe it’s better she didn’t come.

If she had, she might’ve tried something just seeing Lily—could’ve ruined her aunt’s birthday party.

Then she saw Mia Quinn chatting and laughing with Snowelle Yuan.

Definitely not the same as when she sees Lily!

Lily Bai turned her gaze toward her aunt.

After years apart, she was even more radiant and fair-skinned, dressed like a fairy princess—utterly dazzling.

Her eyes and brows brimmed with gentle laughter; not a trace of her old sorrow remained. Clearly, she was doing well.

She’d had a little dragon.

That is, Lily Bai’s little cousin Yoyo Yuan, who hasn’t taken human form yet.

Right now, he was curled up in his mother’s arms, his big bright eyes darting around at everything.

Lily Bai couldn’t help but feel a surge of affection for his cuteness. She secretly sent him a sound transmission, asking him to come over.

Yoyo Yuan vanished from his mother’s arms and appeared in Lily Bai’s lap.

He grinned, rubbing his head against her.
