Slaying Venerable Martial Experts III

1/19/2026

The power of Heaven-Cleave, fused with the five elements and lightning, was utterly terrifying. The commander’s frantic resistance was like an ant trying to stop a chariot—Evan Chu’s Frostbane Sword struck his blade head-on, sword-qi instantly enveloping his entire body. Deep, bone-revealing wounds split open across his flesh.

The paralyzing effect of the lightning left him unable to move, and the backlash sent him flying dozens of meters. The commander couldn’t hold back a mouthful of blood and crashed hard to the ground.

But Evan’s attack wasn’t over yet. Now, Heaven-Cleave truly felt as if it could split the world apart. Even the Ghost Clan cultivators on the ground were caught up in the blast—dozens died or were maimed on the spot, the earth littered with severed limbs like a scene from hell.

Just then, the city lord’s longsword struck as well. Evan had no time to dodge and could only hastily draw back the Frostbane Sword to block. His defense was monstrous, but this city lord was no pushover—he had to be careful.

His hurried defense was no match for the city lord’s full-force blow. The sword-qi on the city lord’s blade was every bit as fierce as the commander’s first attack. The moment Evan’s Frostbane Sword touched it, it was knocked aside, and that terrifying sword-qi slammed straight into him.

It was just like when he attacked the commander—completely unstoppable. But Evan’s defense was freakishly strong; although the city lord’s power was immense, he only managed to leave a few shallow wounds on Evan’s body.

Even so, Evan was sent flying and crashed to the ground. The attack of a Venerable Martial expert was no joke—surviving a sword like that without serious injury was unheard of.

Faye Knox’s heart leapt to her throat. She hadn’t expected Evan to face two Venerable Martial experts at once. As he landed, she rushed to his side, sure he’d been seriously hurt—only to find him making silly faces at her.

“Heh, Faye—are you feeling sorry for your man? Relax, there’s no way they can hurt me. You should leave now; once I’ve killed the two of them, I’ll come find you. Don’t forget, you lost our bet this time, so no backing out!” Evan grinned.

“Is this really the time for jokes? Can’t you be serious for once? These two are Venerable Martial experts! Your defense might be monstrous, but you’re way behind in attack power—we should just leave together!” Faye said, exasperated.

“Heh, you really underestimate your man. Just watch how I take down these two. All you need to do is keep yourself safe.” Evan grinned.

At that moment, every Ghost Clan cultivator was staring at Evan and Faye. Now everyone understood—they were working together. Instantly, the crowd formed a tight encirclement around them.

“Now our cover’s blown. Looks like if we want to get out of here today, it’s going to cost us. This is all your fault for insisting on being first—happy now?” Faye said, frustrated.

“Heh, I did it on purpose—so you’d see just how strong your man is. These people are nothing. Trust me!” Evan replied coolly.

Just then, the commander Evan had struck down rushed at him again. Evan saw that all the wounds on his body had already healed, as if nothing had happened. Such insane recovery shocked even Evan—it was almost as strong as his own. Clearly, Venerable Martial experts were on a whole different level from Saint Martial cultivators.

“Kid, you’re strong—no one at the Saint Martial Realm has ever hurt me before. Today, I’ll show you what a true Venerable Martial expert can do.” the commander said.

“True strength? Didn’t you just show it? Honestly, it felt weaker than a first-layer Saint Martial. Old man, are you sure you’re not brain-damaged? Who was it that I just knocked to the ground with one sword? Now you’re running your mouth in front of me—aren’t you embarrassed?” Evan mocked.

At that moment, the city lord of Wangtu City joined the commander. He glanced at Evan and was secretly shocked—he knew exactly how strong his own attack had been, easily enough to kill a ninth-layer Saint Martial expert. But this guy only had a few holes in his clothes, not a single serious wound. It was just bizarre.

“This kid’s got something freaky going on. He might be a Venerable Martial expert himself. We’d better be careful, or we’ll end up the laughingstock of the whole Ghost Clan,” the city lord said to the commander.

“That girl with him isn’t simple either. Here’s what we do: we grab her first, then deal with the kid. I’m betting their relationship is special—he might hesitate if we take her hostage. Otherwise, his speed is just too fast; it’s nearly impossible to hit him,” the commander said.

The city lord nodded, glanced at Faye, and said to the commander, “You go capture that girl—I’ll handle the kid. If we don’t kill these two today, Wangtu City will be a laughingstock.”

Their voices were low, almost like they were using sound transmission. Evan had no idea what they were planning—but just because he didn’t know didn’t mean no one else did. Luna, the sword spirit, was an exception.

“Evan, they’re planning to use Faye to hold you back. Be careful!” Luna warned.

“That’s easy—I’ll make them regret it for life!” Evan replied, then turned to Faye: “Faye, get behind me. These two are coming for you, but today I’m going all out—I’ll raze Wangtu City and then we’ll escape together.”

Faye hesitated but stepped behind Evan. She knew all too well that his power far surpassed her own—he might even be a Venerable Martial expert himself. Still, she couldn’t help but worry.

Evan decided to go all in—if he was going to act, he’d make it count. He’d already run through the execution method for Star-Cleave in his mind, while Chaos Dragon Force roared through his body, gathering in his right hand. He was about to unleash Star-Cleave through the Unicorn Arm—totally insane.

If he unleashed this attack, he was certain Wangtu City would be reduced to ruins, and the two enemies would be cut down for sure. Casualties would reach the tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands. If he was going crazy, he’d go all out—just so Faye could see his true power.
