Sword Dance

1/4/2026

Lucia Lu instantly understood Sean's worries.

If his musical skills aren't up to par and he forces himself to perform, not only will he embarrass himself, but since the Celestial Empress just said his mother taught him personally, he'd be disgracing his mother too.

So now, as he steps forward, he's probably getting impatient and about to leave.

But if he leaves, that would actually be even worse for him.

This is his first time appearing before the gods since coming of age.

Others don't understand his relationship with His Majesty the Celestial Emperor.

They might even think he's being disrespectful to the Celestial Emperor!

"Your Majesty!" Suddenly, Lucia Lu called out.

Sean had been about to apologize to the Celestial Emperor and Empress, but hearing her voice, he paused in surprise and looked at her.

"I'd really love to perform for His Majesty's birthday," Lucia Lu said, beaming. "But I never seem to get picked for these things. So, Your Majesty, could I have a chance to perform together with Fifth Highness?"

The Celestial Emperor rolled his eyes at his son, then smiled and said, "Alright! Divine Lady Lucia, what will you perform?"

I'll play the flute, and Fifth Highness will perform a sword dance!

After Lucia Lu finished speaking, she immediately heard Sean Shaw's voice transmitted: "I don't know sword dance! And I'm not good at any other performances."

But the Celestial Emperor was already smiling and agreed, saying, "Good! I've long heard that Divine Lady Lucia's Divine Artifact is a jade flute. I'm looking forward to it."

Lucia Lu nodded, stepped out of line, and walked up to Sean Shaw.

As she walked, she transmitted to him: "You might not know sword dance, but surely you know how to wield a sword?"

No member of the Divine Race can't wield a sword.

"Just pick the sword technique you're best at and adjust its rhythm to my melody—that's a sword dance," Lucia Lu said. "Trust me, give it a try, okay?"

Sean Shaw stood motionless for a long moment, then finally gave a low "mm" of assent.

"Do you have a red, wide-sleeved robe in your Storage Pouch?" Lucia Lu asked again.

"Yes."

Use magic to change into it.

Sean Shaw went to borrow a sword from Adrian, and when he returned, he was already wearing the red robe.

Red is the most striking color, and with Sean Shaw wearing it, he instantly became the most noticeable person in the hall.

Lucia Lu summoned Entwined Heart and raised it to her lips.

She was about to play when the Celestial Emperor suddenly called out, "That sword doesn’t match your robe. Use your own sword instead."

Sean Shaw glanced at the Celestial Emperor and obediently switched to his own sword.

As soon as he drew this sword, the atmosphere in the entire hall changed for a moment.

Because the sword he held was the Puresteel Sword.

In earlier years, the Puresteel Sword was the sword of successive Celestial Emperors.

Later, Holy Lord Grace Summers found the Emperor's Sword.

So, the Emperor's Sword became the Celestial Emperor's sword.

And the Puresteel Sword became the Crown Prince's sword.

Now, it actually appeared in Fifth Highness's hand.

Moreover, the Celestial Emperor even said that it was "his own" sword.

......

A melodious flute sounded.

It was a clear, ethereal sound unlike anything the gods had ever heard before.

She was playing the very "Heavenly Thousand Autumns Ode" that the Celestial Empress had just mentioned.

The melody was festive and beautiful, a tune commonly played at birthday banquets.

Sean Shaw glanced at her, closed his eyes, and began to move.

Lucia Lu didn't follow the original tempo of "Heavenly Thousand Autumns Ode."

Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, she matched the rhythm entirely to his sword technique.

Sean, in turn, completely followed her melody.

Though it was their first time, with no rehearsal at all, the two coordinated seamlessly.

In blue celestial robes and with a jade-green flute, Lucia Lu turned an ordinary birthday tune into something soul-stirring.

In red robes, long hair flying, movements blending hardness and softness, Sean Shaw turned an ordinary sword technique into a breathtaking, world-shaking dance.
