Toasting

The restaurant at White Dragon Mountain Resort Hotel was built in a European style. Facing the main entrance was a central pool, where fountains constantly sent up jets of water in ever-changing shapes.

"This White Dragon Mountain Resort Hotel hosts lots of celebrities every year. The decor in many areas is really refined—everything's been carefully matched. If you have time, you should take some photos here; they'll turn out great." Liam Li introduced the place to Lillian Wang and the others beside him.

"Of course! If Young Master Li is treating us to a trip, how could we not take a ton of photos for our Moments? It’d be such a waste otherwise." Lillian Wang giggled.

"Yeah, let’s show all the bumpkins in our feed how it’s done." Maggie Ma chimed in.

Sisi Shao glanced at the White Dragon Mountain Resort Hotel in front of her, then at Liam Li sitting beside her. She couldn’t help steadying herself, as if making some kind of decision.

She was absolutely sure this was the life she wanted. If she could get close to Liam Li, this kind of life would be hers for the taking.

At school, Liam Li had always been chasing after her, but Sisi Shao never gave him a straight answer—she just kept him hanging.

She knew exactly what she had to offer, and she was weighing up Liam Li’s value to her. But lately, Liam’s attitude had grown distant, so she figured it was time to do something about it.

Jason Zhao glanced at Lynn Chen beside him and smiled, "We can go hiking this afternoon. There’s a fish pond and a strawberry garden up on White Dragon Mountain. Let’s go pick some strawberries later."

"Okay." Lynn Chen nodded.

"Fang You, wanna get off together?" Liam Li squeezed up next to Fang You, but Fang You couldn’t even be bothered to reply.

The tour bus slowly rolled to a stop in front of the hotel, where Henry Zhang, dressed in a sharp suit, came up to greet them.

"Henry!" Liam grinned and opened his arms. The two hugged.

"Liam, long time no see! You’ve shot up, huh?" Henry laughed warmly.

"Well, you’re always so busy! My dad keeps saying he hasn’t seen you in ages, really misses you."

"Haha, next time I’ll definitely have to come over for a few drinks," Henry chuckled, glancing at the people behind Liam.

When he spotted Sisi Shao, Fang You, and Lynn Chen, his eyes lit up a bit. Seeing Jason Zhao, he nodded to himself—anyone who could hang with Liam Li probably had a decent background.

But when his gaze landed on Evan Lin at the very back, Henry paused for half a second, then smoothly looked away, not even bothering to linger a full second. Total waste of time.

"These are all your classmates, right? Pretty good-looking bunch." Henry joked.

"Yeah, these are all my classmates. The one at the end, though? Just a classmate’s friend, tagging along." Liam glanced at Evan and deliberately stressed the words ‘classmate’s friend.’

Henry caught on and said, "You said eight people, two per room, so I saved you four twin rooms. It’s not peak season, but rooms are still tight."

"Why didn’t you tell me you’d suddenly have an extra person? What if I can’t host you properly?" Henry put on a mock-scolding face. "I’m really afraid your dad would chew me out."

"Come on, Henry, it’s just one night. We’re gone tomorrow anyway. Besides, my classmate’s friend is super chill—he won’t care about little stuff like where he sleeps. As long as we’ve got a place, he’ll be fine. I’m sure he won’t mind." Liam said with a big smile.

Henry nodded. "I remember there’s a staff dorm on the first floor, usually for the cleaner. She’s on leave, so your classmate’s friend will have to make do for one night."

As soon as Henry said this, Fang You frowned, and even Lynn Chen furrowed her brows, instinctively glancing at Evan Lin at the back of the group.
