A Visitor Arrives

At her words, the group of ghosts parted automatically, revealing Reaper Two, who had been hidden behind them. Roxy Shangguan smiled sweetly and spoke in a soft, childish voice, "Reaper Two, let Nanny sleep a little longer..."

Reaper Two walked over as instructed, ensuring Nanny wouldn't wake up for a while. He couldn't help but wonder why he was chosen, since there was already Reaper One right in front of her.

Roxy Shangguan turned to the ghost before her and smiled again. "Reaper One, I want some candy—make sure it's extra sweet, okay?"

Reaper One frowned, worried that eating too much candy wouldn't be good for her, but he didn't dare defy her wishes—otherwise, he would be in serious trouble!

After tasting the sweet candy, Roxy was finally satisfied. She played for a while and then drifted off to sleep—after all, she was still a child and tired easily.

Seeing that she had truly fallen asleep, the group of ghosts breathed a slight sigh of relief, though their hearts were not entirely at ease—for there was still one more to worry about!

Don't be fooled by Ethan Gray lying with his eyes closed—he wasn't sleeping at all, but practicing his martial arts. Once he finished, he'd use the ghosts to test his progress!

The ghosts stared unblinkingly at Ethan Gray, afraid he might suddenly attack. They wanted to cry out loud—when would this torment finally end?

As they were thinking this, a flurry of wind blades suddenly shot toward them. The ghosts scrambled to dodge, but Ethan only struck once and didn't pursue them further.

After the chaos subsided, the group of ghosts had narrowly escaped disaster—none were injured.

Ethan Gray couldn't help but furrow his brows. The ghost named Reaper One by Roxy Shangguan comforted him, "Young Lord, you've made tremendous progress!" Ghosts are more agile than humans—if it had been a person, only a top master could have dodged that strike!

Ethan said nothing, closing his eyes once more. The slight furrow between his brows betrayed his dissatisfaction with the results of this trial.

He had just closed his eyes when he suddenly opened them again. A shadow darted swiftly into the courtyard, heading straight for the rooms of Prince Damien and Mo Shangguan with practiced familiarity.

A group of ghosts glanced at Ethan Gray. They knew who this person was and remembered his close relationship with the Ghostmaster. But with their master and the Ghostmaster both absent, should they intervene? Unable to decide, they looked to Ethan for guidance.

But with so many shadow guards present, they probably wouldn’t need to take action themselves.

A thoughtful look flickered in Ethan’s eyes. He glanced at the peacefully sleeping Roxy Shangguan, then suddenly reached out and tapped her sleep acupoint.

Hua Qianyu, unable to find anyone, soon returned. This time, he seemed different—his whole being radiated a deep sorrow, yet it was as if a burden had been lifted, leaving him much lighter.

Though he still looked as alluring as ever, that pallor on his face could not be concealed.

He had originally planned to leave, but out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the jade pendant in Roxy Shangguan’s hand. Wasn’t that the pendant Mo Shangguan had snatched from him? How did it end up in this little one’s grasp?

How could there be a child at the Ghost King's Manor? Given Prince Damien’s temperament, he surely disliked noisy children, didn’t he?
