Everyone here was familiar, so the atmosphere instantly warmed up. After handing the wine to the guards, Sharla swaggered toward the room where Evan Yang was waiting.
“Nice.” One of the guards laughed.
“Not only is she beautiful, she’s so considerate too.” Another guard chuckled.
“Isn’t she though?” The first guard grinned, and the two put away the wine, raising Sharla’s status in their minds.
Evan Yang was in the room, waiting for the right time to act tonight, but he didn’t expect Sharla to return so quickly.
Seeing Sharla come in from outside, Evan smiled, “What’s this? Back so soon? Looks like your master must be nearby.”
“Yeah, he’s close by. As soon as I went out, he found me.” Sharla replied.
“Alright, so tell me—what’s his purpose for sending you to the Li Family?” Evan knew Sharla must have learned something, so he asked out of curiosity.
Sharla hesitated, wondering whether to tell the 'Young Master Li' in front of her. Evan noticed her uncertainty and smiled, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’ll say it. He wants me to get close to you and learn about the relationship between the Li Family and Shadow Soul Sect.” Sharla said.
“That’s it?” Evan asked skeptically. He didn’t believe the mysterious figure would go to such lengths just for that.
Sharla didn’t expect the so-called idle Young Master Li to not only be uninterested in women, but also so shrewd. Sometimes she doubted whether he really was Li Gui.
“There’s more. He wants to investigate whether the Chu patriarch is imprisoned here, and learn about one particular person.” Sharla added.
“The Chu patriarch? Why does he care about the Chu patriarch? Is he a friend, trying to rescue him?”
Evan asked suspiciously.
“Not really. He wants to know Evan Yang’s whereabouts.” Sharla said.
Evan froze when he heard his own name. When had he offended such a person? Why send someone into the Li Family, investigate the Chu Family, and even inquire about him? He asked skeptically, “Are you sure he wants you to find Evan Yang’s whereabouts?”
“Yes, that’s right. That’s the ultimate goal.” Sharla confirmed.
Evan really wanted to see who this mysterious figure was and why they were looking for him, but right now he had more important things to do—rescuing the Chu patriarch.
“Alright, just tell him directly—the Li Family is controlled by Shadow Soul Sect, the Chu patriarch is indeed imprisoned here, and as for Evan Yang, there’s no news for now.” Evan said.
