Charles Yin immediately ordered someone to bring Quentin Sheng over.
Quentin Sheng knew right away that there was no point in hiding anything from Charles.
"Chairman." Quentin quickly said, "I am responsible for what happened to the young master."
Charles Yin was never one to pass the buck when something went wrong. He raised his hand and said, "Don't take the blame yet. Tell me exactly what happened."
"Yes, Chairman." Quentin respectfully recounted everything that happened today: "Ever since we came back from this trip, Ms. Miller has been avoiding the young master, and he hasn't been happy about it. This afternoon, someone invited Ms. Miller to dinner, and she happily accepted. The young master was furious and, after returning, waited at the gate for her and didn't go anywhere. He waited until Ms. Miller came back. He was really angry at first, but once he saw Ms. Miller, he calmed down on his own. But then..."
A hint of hesitation flashed in Quentin's eyes, but he decided to say it: "But Ms. Miller asked to break up, saying she'd fallen in love with someone else. The young master couldn't handle the blow—he was so upset he started coughing up blood."
Before Charles could speak, Yina Yin, standing nearby, blurted out, "Nonsense! Cherry would never do something like that! She's been so busy these years, she barely gets four or five hours of sleep a night. If she ever fell for someone else, I'd chop my head off and use it as a soccer ball!"
Miles Gu grabbed the agitated Yina Yin. "Calm down. None of us think Cherry is that kind of person."
"But..."
"Shh..."
Charles ignored his daughter and son-in-law, and went straight to Quentin: "Go on."
"I've worked with the young master for years, but I've also interacted with the other assistants because of work. Both the young lady and the young master are shareholders, so I've worked closely with Ms. Miller several times. I've never seen her get close to any other man, but these words really did come from her own mouth. I suspect Ms. Miller has some other reason she can't talk about." Quentin knows his boss well and would never smear Cherry Miller over something like this.
They're all chief executive assistants, and they’ll have to work together in the future.
Playing dirty will only get you kicked out of the chief assistants' circle.
Charles nodded. "Alright, I understand. You can go now."
"Yes, Chairman." Quentin turned and left.
Yina Yin couldn't wait and said, "Dad, you can't blame Cherry just because of this! She's been by my side since we were kids—no one knows her better than I do!"
"I know," Charles replied calmly. "Young people need to experience setbacks in love—don't go thinking you're the best in the world."
Yina still wanted to say more, but Miles Gu pulled her back and said to Charles, "Dad, Cherry will probably resign tomorrow. Mrs. Miller will definitely blame her for this."
Charles immediately understood what his son-in-law meant and nodded. "I get it. Don't worry, your mom and I aren't senile yet."
