Who Are You Telling to Leave
"Vice President James," Ruby Ji spoke up from the side. "Last night, Grace assaulted Wendy Wang without reason, shoved her into filth, and subjected her to humiliation and threats!"
"Is that so?" Vice President James said, "If that's the case, Grace, pay your fine and go back to where you came from! The Eastern Alliance won't tolerate villains like you!"
Grace looked at him without saying a word.
This was definitely Ruby Ji's hired help. No matter what she said, it wouldn't matter!
"Vice President James, who exactly are you telling to leave?" Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out from the crowd.
Grace turned around and saw that Byron White had arrived.
"President!" Vice President James's expression changed slightly. "What brings you here?"
"If you can come, why can't I?"
Vice President James looked a bit flustered. "No, that's not what I meant..."
"What's going on here?" Byron White frowned as he looked at the mess in the room.
"President—" Ruby Ji immediately tried to start accusing again.
"Didn't ask you!" Byron White cut her off and turned to Ms. Liu, Dormitory Steward. "You speak."
Ms. Liu, Dormitory Steward, recounted everything that happened last night and this morning, exactly as it occurred.
Byron White's face darkened. "Vice President James, you're in charge of discipline in the Eastern Alliance, and this is how you manage things?"
"It's precisely because I'm in charge of discipline that I stick to evidence," Vice President James replied. "The footprints Grace mentioned are gone. She can't provide any other proof, so I have to follow the Alliance rules."
"So all these people who said Wendy Wang admitted it last night—they don't count as witnesses?"
"But Wendy Wang says she was forced to confess last night."
"Ms. Liu saw the footprints with her own eyes last night. Doesn't she count as a witness?"
Vice President James said, "Last night, Grace went in with Ms. Liu. Just the two of them, saying they saw footprints—who knows what they really did in there? Maybe Grace bribed her!"
"You're talking nonsense!" Ms. Liu shouted, her face red and neck bulging with anger.
At this moment, Ruby Ji sneered, "Ever since Grace arrived at the Eastern Alliance, Ms. Liu has been looking after her everywhere. Just look at Grace's room—does this look like a trainee's dorm? It's so luxurious, it's almost as nice as the President's suite!"
"This has nothing to do with Ms. Liu," Byron White said. "I was the one who ordered her to stay there."
"President, aren't you being a bit unfair?" Ruby Ji said sourly.
"Unfair?" Byron White gave a cold laugh. "What does fairness mean? If your talent surpasses hers, I'll give you the same treatment!"
Ruby Ji gritted her teeth and fell silent.
"Someone! Bring Sam Qi up here!" Byron White called out.
Byron White's trusted aide brought up a janitor.
"Tell us, what did you see?" Byron White instructed.
"Yesterday, while I was cleaning the toilets, I saw her!" Sam Qi pointed at Wendy Wang. "She scooped up some dirty water from the latrine. I thought it was weird, so I followed her. I saw her pick open a door lock with wire and pour the dirty water inside."
"You're lying!" Wendy Wang's face turned pale. "Grace must have bribed you too!"
"Grace? Who's Grace?" Sam Qi asked, confused.
"Stop pretending!" Ruby Ji snapped.
"Enough!" Byron White said. "There are two ways to settle this. First, Wendy Wang confesses. You'll be fined thirty thousand gold and expelled from the Spirit Alliance."
Wendy Wang glanced nervously at Ruby Ji, shaking her head over and over.
She didn't want to leave the Spirit Alliance!
She'd rather die than leave!
