Tears, Complaining to Ninth Royal Uncle

2/14/2026

Serena gritted her teeth as she spoke, but Victor Yun didn’t take it to heart at all. He could understand Serena’s mood—before Zed arrived at Feng Manor, he’d wanted to kill someone too.

They were both suffering together. Victor Yun stepped forward and patted Serena on the shoulder, comforting her: "Serena, try to bear it. Don’t think about things that are impossible. Focus on finding a way to cure Zed as soon as possible—that’s what really matters. Otherwise, neither of us will have any peace. You know I’ve only ever heard of the Demon Sect by name, never actually met any of them. This is my first time dealing with someone from the Demon Sect."

Victor Yun very irresponsibly distanced himself from the situation. Otherwise, once Ninth Royal Uncle had time, he’d definitely be in for a scolding.

Honestly, he was the most pitiful one in all this—it had nothing to do with him, and he hadn’t invited any of it. If anyone was to blame, it was Serena’s reputation for being too outstanding. The Demon Sect Lord had his eye on her, and that’s how this little disaster landed on their doorstep.

Victor Yun tried his best to comfort her for a long time, but Serena’s spirits were still low. It was easy for Victor to say, but doing it was anything but simple. For one thing, she wasn’t skilled in treating psychological disorders; even if she was, it wouldn’t matter—she couldn’t even get close to Zed.

Zed’s bodyguards protected him so tightly that no one could get near. How was she supposed to treat him like this?

It was still early when she left the Yun estate. Serena had absolutely no desire to return to Feng Manor. Ever since Jada Tang and the others fell ill, Serena had sent all the staff away to the other villa. Now, Feng Manor was empty except for herself, Zed, and his bodyguards.

Serena got into the carriage. When the driver asked where to go, she thought for a moment and decided to head to Ninth Prince Manor.

She knew Prince Nolan had been busy lately, but honestly, she was truly at the end of her rope. Right now, she desperately needed someone to save her, to help her figure out a way to send that little demon Zed packing. As for the matter of treatment?

Forget it—she really didn’t have what it took. Besides, in her opinion, the one who was truly sick wasn’t Zed, but his father. If it weren’t for the Demon Sect Lord’s indulgence, Zed wouldn’t have turned out like this.

As always, everyone at Ninth Prince Manor gave Serena a warm welcome. No need for any announcement—the old butler personally led her to the courtyard outside Nolan’s study.

"Miss Feng, His Highness is in the study. You can go right in," the old butler said with a wise twinkle in his eye and a friendly smile.

"Will I be disturbing your prince?" Serena asked, seeing the old butler stay outside. She guessed Nolan must be busy with something important.

"Not at all, Miss Feng. How could you ever be a bother to His Highness? He’s always glad when you come." The old butler wasn’t exaggerating—no matter how busy Nolan was, if Serena showed up, he’d drop everything for her.

Sure enough, as soon as Serena walked in, Nolan dismissed the subordinate who was reporting to him and tossed aside the official documents he was working on.

"What brings you here today?" Nolan circled the desk and sat down beside Serena. Seeing her looking so drained, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "What’s wrong? Who bullied you?"

"Do you know about the group that moved into my manor?" Serena slumped over the desk, her voice weak.

"You mean the Young Lord of the Demon Sect, Zed?" Nolan had known about their arrival since the day they moved in.

"That’s right, that little demon." Serena ground her teeth. She figured Nolan had no idea what had been happening in Feng Manor these past few days. After all, the secret guards who were supposed to report in had been knocked out by Zed’s bodyguards on the very first day.

"He’s just a sick child. How could he possibly trouble you?" Nolan asked, puzzled. He really didn’t know much about Zed—he’d never focused his intelligence gathering on that kid.

How much trouble could a six-year-old really cause?

"A child? He’s no ordinary child—though he’s definitely sick. You have no idea, that kid is practically inhuman..." Serena began to recount everything Zed had done over the past few days to Nolan.

Serena spoke in a rush, her mouth dry by the end. Nolan quickly poured her a cup of tea and handed it over. Serena drank it down and continued, "Honestly, I’m lucky to be a physician—Zed has held back with me. Otherwise, I’d have been scared to death."

There may not have been any physical harm, but the mental torment was far worse.

"From what you’re saying, that child really is seriously ill." Nolan trusted Serena not to exaggerate. He hadn’t taken Zed seriously before, but now he realized he’d been careless.

So vicious and brutal at such a young age—what would he be like when he grew up?

"Exactly. That child’s mind is severely twisted. Either he was born this cruel, or he suffered some terrible trauma—otherwise he couldn’t have become so frightening." Serena had never been so afraid of anyone before.

When that child did these things, his eyes were so clean and innocent it was terrifying. He felt no guilt at all, as if everything he did was perfectly normal—and those people deserved to be tortured by his cruel hands.

"So you can’t treat his illness?" Each physician has their own specialty, and Serena was clearly better at treating external injuries.

"If I could, I wouldn’t be here asking you for help. You have no idea—I just came from the Young estate, trying to get Victor Yun to send him back, but that bastard wouldn’t agree no matter what." Serena recounted Victor Yun’s "evil deeds" with a pitiful look at Nolan, as if saying: Ninth Royal Uncle, you have to stand up for me.

Nolan nodded with a gentle smile, reassuring Serena that he would stand up for her. But that could wait—the urgent matter now was Zed.

"You want to send him away?"

"Exactly. I can’t treat his illness, and if I keep him at Feng Manor, I’m afraid I’ll lose my mind too."

"I’m afraid it won’t be easy." Nolan hadn’t dealt with the Demon Sect before, but he knew a few things—the Demon Sect Lord was proud and arrogant. He wouldn’t accept rejection.

"Oh no, what should I do then?" If even Nolan said it was difficult, it really was difficult. Serena grew even more frustrated.

"Don’t worry. Stay here at my manor for a while and let me think." Seeing the bruises at the corner of Serena’s eyes, Nolan realized she hadn’t slept well these past few days and gently patted her in comfort.

"Even if I hide now, I’ll have to face him eventually. Besides, if I don’t go back, that little demon will probably tear my house apart." Serena shook her head and rubbed against Nolan’s palm.

She whimpered softly, begging for comfort.

"Let him tear it down, then. We’ll just ask the Demon Sect for silver to rebuild." To Nolan, Serena mattered far more than any house. Seeing her like this, he figured even he would fall ill if he had to spend time with that little demon.

Still, hearing about Zed’s antics actually put Nolan at ease.

If the Demon Sect had shown up in Eastlyn so suddenly, it really was unexpected—and had nothing to do with the Nine Provinces Map.

You couldn’t blame Nolan for being suspicious—he knew his brothers well. If the Third Prince could tell him the secret of the Nine Provinces Map, he could just as easily tell the Demon Sect Lord that Lan Jiuqing also had a piece of it.

Ever since the previous dynasty fell, the Demon Sect hadn’t shown its face in the martial world. For them to appear at such a critical moment, it was only natural for Nolan to be wary...
