Invisible Scroll

"Evan, this guy's soul force is insanely strong. If you really want to wipe him out, it's going to be tricky—your Fireshift still hasn't reached the level of true Samadhi Heavenly Fire. For now, you can only try to keep separating his demonic qi, which means splitting up his soul as much as possible. I trust you know how to handle it." Luna, the Sword Spirit, spoke up at this moment.

Evan hadn't expected killing someone could be this troublesome—this guy was practically immortal, just like him. Without hesitation, he activated the Frostbane Sword and unleashed Soul Rend again, slashing at one of the broken clumps of demonic qi.

With that strike, the demonic qi split into even more clumps, each one clearly shrinking in size. Evan understood this was the only way to truly cripple his foe, so he kept firing off Soul Rend without pause.

Mad Butcher Demon General knew exactly what Evan was up to, but now that his soul had been scattered into so many fragments, he couldn't even speak—he could only try to flee in all directions using his consciousness.

But Evan didn't care at all. In this spatial black hole, there was nowhere to hide—no matter where the Demon General ran, Evan could track him down easily, and his teleportation was way faster than any escape attempt.

Using Soul Rend barely drained Evan's Chaos Dragon Force. With the reserves in his body now, he could easily cast it a hundred times or more. When his Chaos Dragon Force was almost spent, Evan finally stopped.

By now, Mad Butcher Demon General's demonic qi had been chopped into 9,990 pieces, each one smaller than an egg. Even if Evan hadn't killed him outright, it would take thousands or tens of thousands of years to recover—this was basically as good as killing him.

Evan glanced at the scattered demonic qi floating in the void of the black hole, a victorious grin spreading across his face. He used Watershift to wash the blood off himself, then pulled out clean clothes from his storage ring and changed.

His Chaos Dragon Force was nearly drained, so breaking out of this spatial black hole was basically impossible. Evan had no choice but to take out a Star Crystal and start absorbing it. The number of Star Crystals was running low, and each one he used hurt—if only he could use supreme-grade Starstones, things would be way easier.

But time wouldn't allow it. Absorbing a Star Crystal took at most a day to recover, while supreme-grade Starstones would need three to five days. That maniac Solus demanded Evan show up at the Divine Battlefield in half a month—if he missed the appointment, Evan didn't even dare imagine the consequences.

As the Star Crystal shrank and his Chaos Dragon Force slowly reached saturation, Evan opened his eyes. Instead of rushing to break out of the spatial black hole, he first checked the scattered clumps of demonic qi he'd chopped up—still floating separately, with no sign of merging.

That put Evan completely at ease. Next, he took out the scroll Mad Butcher Demon General had given him and opened it—only to nearly turn to stone in shock. The scroll was totally blank, not a single mark or clue left behind.

"That damn old bastard actually played me! No location, no method—how am I supposed to get to the Divine Battlefield? Did Mad Butcher destroy the real scroll and hand me a fake?" Evan muttered to himself, thoroughly annoyed.

"Evan, look closer at that scroll. It's an extremely rare Invisible Scroll—I have no idea where Solus found the materials to make it." Luna, the Sword Spirit, explained.

"What kind of scroll could be that special? Are you saying it really has a way to reach the Divine Battlefield?" Evan asked doubtfully after hearing Luna's explanation.

"Just slowly inject your divine sense into it, and you'll see. This Invisible Scroll is incredibly rare—not everyone can get answers just by probing it. It's keyed to specific people. Solus probably prepared it just for you." Luna said.

Evan couldn't help but marvel at Solus's power—and he was still deeply confused about Luna. Back at the bottom of Red Lake, a God-King had called her a Ninth-Heaven Arch-Immortal, and Evan still had no clue what that really meant. He wanted to ask, but never got an answer.

He then injected his divine sense into the scroll. At first, Evan felt nothing—it was just blank paper. But after a moment, a torrent of information flooded his mind, making his head feel like it was splitting apart.

Sweat the size of beans poured from Evan's forehead, but gradually the pain eased up. He didn't withdraw his divine sense from the scroll—instead, he kept searching for more.

He trusted that Solus wouldn't harm him. With power like that, Solus could kill him instantly—he wouldn't need to bother with tricks like this.

Slowly, a scene formed in Evan's mind—a middle-aged man fighting against dozens of people, along with several beasts Evan couldn't even name. Maybe they weren't demonic beasts but something else, like saint beasts or another type Evan had never seen before.

This middle-aged man was terrifyingly strong. The techniques they used weren't just martial arts—light flashed from their hands, and with one movement, they covered hundreds or even thousands of li. Yet the enemy could instantly appear right in front of him.

Judging by their speed, it had to be teleportation—except way faster than Evan's own. Their attacks were even scarier: wind, rain, thunder, lightning, all appeared. One of them waved a hand and instantly reduced a hill to dust.

Another slashed out with a sword and split an entire sea in two. Evan could probably do that too, but the weird part was the water instantly froze into Mystic Ice, locked in place by some kind of restriction.

One move could freeze an entire sea—what kind of concept was that? It really was 'freeze a thousand li.' Maybe this was the true level of power in Luna's world, or maybe Solus's realm.

The scene kept shifting. Soon, the middle-aged man had killed several opponents, but he was badly wounded himself. Five or six enemies remained, each one staring at him with murderous intent.

One of them spoke: "Solus Mie, if you hand over the item, maybe we'll spare your life. Otherwise, today is the day you die!"

Even surrounded and wounded, the middle-aged man stayed calm. He glanced at them and replied, "You lapdogs think you're worthy of taking my things? I'll tell you the truth—I've already handed it over to Solarion Palace. If you've got the guts, go try to steal it there!"

"Fine, you won't drink the toast, so you'll drink the penalty wine! Brothers, wipe out this arrogant fool!" another middle-aged man shouted, sitting atop a beast. Evan couldn't tell if it was a demonic beast or something else—actually, it was an immortal beast...
