Encountering Benjamin Edge Again

12/19/2025

Joe Di had ventured into the Vast Chaos and witnessed the strength of cultivators from other universes. He sensed that future battles would escalate into cosmic wars. If the Five Elements Universe became too weak, how could it survive in the Vast Chaos?

If even the Five Elements Universe couldn't survive, could Joe Di be an exception? As the saying goes, when the nest is overturned, how can any egg remain intact? If Joe Di were to escape the Five Elements Universe and cling to life, he would never have reached his current level of cultivation.

After leaving the place where he had cultivated for hundreds of years, Joe Di suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Less than ten thousand miles away from him, there was actually an ice sculpture.

Because he had cultivated here for hundreds of years, the snow covering tens of thousands of miles had melted, forming a vast circular area. Yet the ice sculpture had not melted. And since all the surrounding snow had vanished, this ice sculpture, once buried deep in the snowy plains, was now exposed.

Joe Di stepped up to the ice sculpture. It was a woman. If not for the complete lack of vitality, her beauty would rival Cassie Cao's.

However, compared to Cassie Cao's flawless beauty, this woman's allure carried a chilling sensation.

It wasn't just because she had been encased in ice for so long, but because her beauty was strangely eerie—like a shell of skin wrapped around soulless flesh and bone. From head to toe, she radiated an aura of coldness.

Joe Di shook his head, guessing that this unsettling feeling was because she was dead.

But that couldn't be right. If she were truly dead, after all this time cultivating here and melting all the surrounding snow, how could she still remain an ice sculpture?

Joe Di's divine sense landed on the woman. With his current strength, he immediately understood the situation. Someone had placed a top-tier Barrier Seal of ice and cold on her, built upon the rules of ice and snow in these plains.

As long as the ice and snow of these plains remained unmelted, the woman would be frozen here forever. If the ice and snow melted, or if she were disturbed, she would quickly fade into nothingness.

Joe Di sighed. This was also related to him; if he continued cultivating here for several more centuries, the woman would surely disappear.

The cultivator who laid such a Barrier Seal was definitely a top expert. Even with Joe Di's mastery of the Dao of Laws, if he had encountered this when he first arrived, he wouldn't have been able to break it.

Now, however, Joe Di's power far surpassed what it was when he first arrived. After five hundred years of cultivation here, his understanding of the rules of this continent was thorough.

Regardless of why this woman was sealed here, Joe Di felt obliged to help—after all, it was partly his doing.

With a wave of his hand, countless law array flags appeared, each one inscribing new rules onto the space around the ice sculpture. These, combined with the law array flags, formed entirely new universal laws in the area.

In just half a stick of incense's time, the ice around the sculpture rapidly melted. The woman's body softened, and before she could collapse, Joe Di sent out thousands more threads of Dao resonance. These laws awakened the last trace of vitality within her, and Joe Di tossed several pills her way.

In this place, the air was thick with chaotic energy. As long as she could breathe, the woman had a chance to survive. Now, with several Dao Pills and the nourishment of chaotic energy, her vitality quickly returned.

An hour later, the woman opened her eyes. She looked around in confusion, then her gaze settled on Joe Di.

"Are you all right now?" Joe Di asked.

The woman hesitated for a moment before suddenly asking, "Has the snow around here melted? Did you save me?"

Joe Di smiled. "That's right. I did save you."

Joe Di didn't even ask why she had been trapped here; he didn't want to meddle further, though he knew he already had.

The woman stared at Joe Di in astonishment. After a long while, she asked in disbelief, "How could you possibly break that kind of law Barrier Seal? Who are you?"

Joe Di nodded. "Who I am doesn't matter. Farewell."

Joe Di didn't even say 'until we meet again'—he quickly departed. Moments after he left, the woman's voice echoed behind him: "My name is Kiana Yin. Thank you for saving my life. You must be careful of Vincent Wen. Since you broke my seal, he will surely sense it when you meet..."

In that brief moment, Joe Di had already left the snowy plains. He heard Kiana Yin's words, but to be honest, he didn't pay much attention.

For Vincent Wen to set such a top-tier Barrier Seal, he was clearly a peerless powerhouse. However, if the law Barrier Seal Joe Di broke could still be sensed by the one who set it, then all his years cultivating the Dao of Laws would have been for nothing. Even the universe world he had refined would be meaningless.

After leaving the snowy plains, Joe Di's goal was clear. First, he needed to study the continent's protective array. To release the chaotic energy here, he would have to break this array.

Although the protective array here wasn't always active, its foundation was extraordinary. The chaotic energy of this place was suppressed by the array's core, which was intricately linked to the continent's protective array. As long as the core remained, the chaotic energy would never dissipate.

Joe Di's plan was to thoroughly study the continent's protective array and then locate its core. He gave himself a hundred years; if he made no progress by then, he would forcibly shatter the array. A century would be enough to set countless law array flags. No matter how strong the protective array was, it would be destroyed by such a massive explosive formation.

...

The Chaotic Continent was unlike any other Joe Di had seen. There were no cultivation cities, no markets. The land was vast and sparsely populated, yet resources were unimaginably abundant. Top-tier materials, divine herbs, and all kinds of Dao fruits could be found almost everywhere.

Aside from the woman he had saved at first, Kiana Yin, Joe Di wandered this continent for several months, gathering piles of divine herbs and minerals, yet he didn't encounter a single cultivator. Not even a proper cultivation cave could be seen in all that time.

But today, Joe Di was surprised. Not only did he see people, he saw four of them.

The four seemed to be heading somewhere, chatting as they walked.

Since Joe Di wasn't a local cultivator and was intent on breaking the protective array, he hadn't planned to follow them. Instead, he wanted to search in another direction for clues about the array.

But one of their voices made Joe Di change his mind. If he wasn't mistaken, the speaker was Benjamin Edge.

Joe Di couldn't help but admire him. Normally, having escaped from Gui Yan with his life, one would hide in the most remote place possible. Yet Benjamin Edge hadn't hidden at all; instead, he was out here openly chatting with others.

"Everyone, ahead is Qiantan Manor. I heard from Manor Lord Du that there's a piece of Genesis Loam this time..." one of the plain-robed cultivators said casually.

Hiding in the distance, Joe Di was shocked when he heard the words 'Genesis Loam.' How precious was Genesis Loam? These people spoke of it as if it were just another good item. If he had Genesis Loam, he was confident he could find the array core of the continent's protective array within a year.

"Who is it?" Even the slightest fluctuation from Joe Di was detected by the four, who all glared at the spot where he was hiding, their tone unfriendly.

Not only that, the four immediately spread out, sealing off every direction Joe Di could escape.

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
