As Evan finished speaking, dozens of massive ice-beasts appeared not far from the trio, each several meters tall. Their bodies were completely transparent, like moving blocks of ice—so bizarre it sent chills down one's spine.
Seeing these ice-beasts, Evan said, "These things must be made from ice-element particles. To deal with creatures like this, you need overwhelming attack power. There are fifteen of them—how about you two take five each, and I’ll handle ten myself?"
King Victor laughed, "Aren’t you underestimating us? These ice-beasts are tough, sure, but I bet we can take them down easily. Let’s keep it fair—five each, and see who finishes first."
Just then, one of the ice-beasts let out a thunderous roar that made all three of their eardrums ache. "Seriously? These things can make noise? Their bodies are see-through, not even any organs. How do they even live?" Evan muttered to himself.
The three of them charged at the oncoming ice-beasts. For King Victor and the Beast King, it was the perfect warm-up—they’d almost frozen to death in the bitter cold here, so these ice-beasts were just what they needed to get moving.
Evan gripped the Frostbane Divine Sword and unleashed a quick Star-Cleave. He couldn’t see the true strength of these beasts, but anything that could survive in this environment had to be formidable. This strike was just to test their power.
Boom! The sound echoed in their ears as Evan struck first, but he was blasted back dozens of meters before steadying himself. He wasn’t hurt, but the ice-beast’s insane defense caught him off guard.
The ice-beast he attacked took his Star-Cleave head-on. The snow around them was swept into the air by the sword-qi’s energy storm, but the beast only staggered back a few steps.
"Careful, everyone! These ice-beasts have defense off the charts—you’ll need your strongest attacks to take them down!" Evan shouted to King Victor and the Beast King.
The other two were seasoned experts. Seeing Evan knocked back by the recoil, they instantly understood how tough the ice-beasts were. With years of battle experience, they drew their weapons and attacked the beasts in front of them.
The Beast King was the most dramatic—his massive bronze hammer spun wildly, kicking up fierce winds all around. With a deafening crash, the hammer smashed into an ice-beast, sending it flying dozens of meters.
He thought that blow would finish it off, but a few breaths later, the ice-beast actually climbed back to its feet. Its missing leg was obvious—now it stood on three limbs.
Suddenly, a blue light flashed across the ice-beast’s body—the signature glow of water-element power. The snow on the ground whirled up and quickly wrapped around it.
The Beast King was stunned by this bizarre sight. In the blink of an eye, the ice-beast had turned into a giant snowball, rolling toward him at high speed. In seconds, the snowball was as big as a house.
Heart pounding, the Beast King slammed his hammer down on the snowball. Another thunderous crash—the snowball shattered, revealing the ice-beast’s body, but what he saw next left all three of them shocked.
The ice-beast was now at least half again as large as before, and its missing leg had already regrown. None of the three had ever seen anything so strange.
Evan remembered when he’d obtained the Light and Darkness Spirit Pearls and faced monsters that could combine, but these ice-beasts were even weirder—they used the endless snow to repair and power up their bodies. If you didn’t kill them in one blow, they’d just get stronger.
The Beast King quickly retreated into the air and swung his hammer down again, but the ice-beast opened its mouth and spat out a stream of Coldflame at him. The temperature plummeted, and the Beast King shivered involuntarily—his attack missed its mark.
Seeing this, Evan instantly flashed forward and unleashed Divine Cleave. At a time like this, he couldn’t afford to hold back—even after his breakthrough, Divine Cleave’s power was far beyond what these ice-beasts could resist.
His strike wiped out the four ice-beasts in front of him, leaving not even a trace of their bodies—no flesh, no bone, just pure Mystic Ice shattered to nothing.
Evan’s one-strike slaughter of four ice-beasts left King Victor and the Beast King utterly stunned—they were completely convinced of his terrifying power.
Suddenly, the remaining ice-beasts let out sky-shaking howls, then opened their mouths and blasted waves of powerful Coldflame at Evan. The Coldflame quickly merged into an even larger torrent.
Evan didn’t take the Coldflame seriously at all. With a thought, he activated Watershift—now at the third layer, he could fully blend into the icy chill of the Coldflame.
The ice-beasts’ Coldflame attack was so fast that Evan couldn’t dodge and took the hit head-on. King Victor and the Beast King’s faces changed dramatically at the sight, both crying out in horror, "Evan!" "Young Master!"
But when the Coldflame hit Evan, it was as if nothing happened—it passed straight through him, blasting off into the distance, while Evan just stood there calmly, smiling at the two.
The Coldflame made the air even more bitterly cold, and Evan’s strange reaction shocked King Victor and the Beast King even more. How could the Coldflame not hurt him? It was just too bizarre.
Evan saw their shocked faces and laughed, "You two just worry about protecting yourselves. Leave these ice-beasts to me."
With that, Evan flickered like a phantom among the ice-beasts, the Frostbane Divine Sword radiating intense killing intent. After two more Divine Cleaves, only one ice-beast remained—the one whose body had grown even larger.
After three Divine Cleaves, all the snow on the ground had vanished, exposing a layer of Mystic Ice. There wasn’t even any soil here, which was odd. Evan knew exactly how powerful Divine Cleave was—on normal ground, it would have split the earth into countless giant chasms, maybe even raised mountains.
But on this Mystic Ice, only a few fine cracks appeared. Its hardness was unbelievable. Glancing at the last ice-beast, Evan prepared one more Divine Cleave to finish the battlefield quickly.
Just as Evan raised the Frostbane Divine Sword to strike, the beast’s body flashed blue again—and in an instant, it vanished without a trace. It was as if it had disappeared into thin air.
All three stared in confusion, especially Evan. Even with his Icefire Eye, he should be able to see through invisibility, but this time the beast had truly vanished, leaving him completely baffled...
