A Strikingly Beautiful Woman
Percy had always been a clever kid.
He remembered what his mother told him before she died, and all the times Samuel Saunders tried to test him over the years. Suddenly, it all made sense...
So, that's why he just switched sides.
He was Miss Lawrence's greatest asset in this lawsuit—and the best witness she could have.
"Your Honor!" Samuel Saunders struggled, "Judge Zhang, I'm innocent! Lily Bai and Percy teamed up to frame me!"
Miss Lawrence spoke up, her voice steady and clear: "Your Honor, besides Percy, I've brought plenty of other witnesses! The shop owner who sold me the Supreme Mythril, and the customers who saw us sign the contract—I've brought them all here today."
"Summon them," Judge Johnson said.
So Mr. Wayne, along with the crowd who had witnessed everything that day, were all called to the stand to confirm Miss Lawrence's story.
With both witnesses and evidence in hand—and the wounds on Samuel Saunders and the court clerk's fingers so obvious—Judge Johnson, being a man of justice, slammed his gavel and shouted angrily: "Samuel Saunders, what else do you have to say for yourself?"
Samuel Saunders's eyes darted around, but he said nothing.
"In that case," Judge Johnson declared, "I hereby rule that Lucky Star, along with everyone in the shop, will be—"
"Wait!" Samuel Saunders shouted.
Judge Johnson: "Do you have anything else to say?"
"I have another witness! A crucial one! She can prove that this contract—whether it's real or fake—is invalid!" Samuel Saunders said, steeling himself.
"Summon her," Judge Johnson ordered.
So Samuel Saunders sent someone to fetch the witness.
She was an exceptionally beautiful woman, her presence lighting up the entire courtroom.
It was none other than Sophie Sun.
The moment she entered the courtroom, she shot a cold, dark look at Samuel Saunders.
Samuel Saunders guiltily lowered his head. "Miss..."
Originally, he hadn't wanted to blow things up—he just wanted to handle it himself.
But now, seeing he couldn't keep it secret any longer, he had no choice but to send his most trusted aide to bring Sophie Sun.
"What's going on?" Sophie Sun asked him.
"Miss!" Samuel Saunders sobbed, tears streaming down his face. "That Lily Bai is just awful! She wants to snatch Lucky Star away from us..."
Samuel Saunders exaggerated the whole story as he told her.
Sophie Sun truly was one of the most dazzling women in the Blue Moon Kingdom—worldly, poised, and never losing her cool. She glanced at Miss Lawrence, then flashed her a playful smile: "Miss Lawrence, long time no see!"
"Miss Lawrence? Who's Miss Lawrence?" Samuel Saunders blinked, utterly bewildered.
"This is the Prime Minister's eldest daughter, Miss Lawrence—Chloe Zhu," Sophie Sun declared with a knowing smile. "You really don't know who you're dealing with!"
"What? Isn't she... Lily Bai?" Samuel Saunders gawked at Miss Lawrence, then at Percy, realization dawning on his face. He blurted to Sophie Sun, "Miss, it's Miss Lawrence and Percy teaming up to scam our shop! Percy told me he was just a commoner! Otherwise, I never would've—"
"Shut up!" Sophie Sun snapped at Samuel Saunders, then turned to Miss Lawrence. "Miss Lawrence, what brings you to bother with our little shop today?"
"So, the shop belongs to your family?" Miss Lawrence asked with a sly smile. "That's perfect! Samuel Saunders ruined my Supreme Mythril and Fire Condensing Pearl, so you guys have to compensate me!"
"If you want a shop, I can give you a few good ones. But this one is our Sun family's flagship store. If it just changes hands like this, it wouldn't look good at all!"
"Well, that's just how it is—the contract says so, so that's what we have to do!" Miss Lawrence replied, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
