"Please spare us! I promise we'll never come to Mesa City again!"
Suddenly, Leon Liang scrambled up and threw himself to his knees before Ian Song, groveling and begging for his life.
"Leon Liang, what are you doing? Get up, now!" Seeing this, Liza couldn't help but shout angrily.
But Leon Liang completely ignored Liza Li, banging his head on the ground as he kowtowed to Ian Song. "Sir, please spare us! We really won't dare cross you again!"
Watching Leon Liang grovel so shamelessly, Liza Li couldn't stand it and turned her head away in disgust.
Ian Song—whose legal identity in Mesa City is Landon Lu, Special Police Minister—said playfully, "Since you're so earnest in begging me, I'll let you go back and report. As for the others, they'll have to die!"
"Thank you, sir! Thank you, sir!"
The moment Leon Liang realized he could live, his face lit up with wild joy and he kowtowed even harder, nearly smashing his forehead into the floor.
"Leon Liang, you're a disgrace to us vampires!" Liza couldn't help but scold again.
"You don't understand, Liza. Surviving is all that matters; nothing else is important!" Leon Liang sneered.
"Enough whining. Get out of here now, or don't blame me for changing my mind!" Ian Song urged.
"Yes, sir! I'm leaving right away!"
A flash of panic crossed Leon Liang's eyes, then he staggered out of the room.
"Sir, please don't kill me! I know I was wrong. Please, can you spare me too?" Another third-generation vampire scrambled up and knelt before Ian Song, begging for mercy.
Ian Song said nothing. He simply tapped the vampire's brow, sending a Puppet Mastery Sigil into his sea of consciousness.
In an instant, the third-generation vampire was subdued. He bowed deeply, voice trembling with awe and fear: "Victor Wang reporting to Master!" The others stared in disbelief—Victor Wang was Leon Liang's direct blood descendant, supposed to be bound by absolute loyalty and under Leon's life-and-death control. Yet now, he knelt before the guardian of Mesa City, calling him Master, overturning all the laws of vampire bloodlines.
"You... Victor Wang, how could you betray your master!"
Liza Li's face twisted in horror. Victor Wang was Leon Liang's direct blood descendant, bound by absolute loyalty and under Leon's life-and-death control. Yet now, Victor had turned and called Mesa City's guardian his master, defying all vampire bloodline laws.
Even first-generation vampires couldn't seize another's descendant—this was supposed to be impossible. How could this human do it?
"Where did you come from?" Ian Song asked Victor Wang.
"Reporting to Master, we came from Luoxin City," Victor Wang answered truthfully.
"Why did you come here?" Ian Song asked again.
"Shut up, Victor Wang! If you dare reveal another word, I won't forgive you!" Liza snapped.
Victor Wang ignored Liza's threat and continued, "We were ordered by Lady Cici and Lady Joy to come to Mesa City and develop descendants!"
"Who are Lady Cici and Lady Joy?" Ian Song asked.
"You bastard! If you spill another word, I'll kill you!" Liza glared fiercely at Victor Wang, threatening him.
Smack!
Ian Song slapped Liza across the face and sneered, "You'd better figure out your current position. If you interrupt my questioning again, I'll kill you!"
"Go ahead and kill me if you dare!" Liza roared.
"If you want to die, that's easy!"
Ian Song narrowed his eyes, raised his hand, and made a grabbing motion. Instantly, an invisible giant hand lifted Liza off the ground. She felt her breathing grow harder and harder, on the verge of suffocation.
Thud!
After a moment, the invisible hand vanished and Liza's body dropped from midair.
Breathing fresh air again, she couldn't help but gasp for breath.
"Did you taste the flavor of death?" Ian Song asked, watching her.
"Hmph, if you've got the guts, just kill me!" Liza shouted, still shaken.
"Killing you would be letting you off too easy!" As he spoke, Ian Song tapped Liza's brow, sending a Puppet Mastery Sigil into her...
Though Liza struggled with all her might, she was still enslaved.
Under Ian Song's gaze, she knelt to the ground and respectfully said, "Liza greets Master."
"No way... even Lady Liza has become his slave?!"
Seeing this, the other vampires recoiled, eyes wide with terror. Their fear of Ian Song—the guardian of Mesa City—was now bone-deep.
Meanwhile, after leaving the hotel, Leon Liang unfolded his wings and flew at full speed toward Luoxin City.
After two hours of flying, he finally returned to Luoxin City and quickly arrived at the Central Manor.
"Leon Liang requests an audience with Lady Cici and Lady Joy!"
A quarter of an hour later, Cici and Joy arrived together.
Thump!
Leon Liang knelt on the ground, his face anxious. "Ladies, please hurry and save Liza and the others. They've been captured by Mesa City's guardian!"
Cici frowned. "What happened?"
"Reporting to Lady Cici, here's what happened..."
Leon Liang quickly explained the situation, again urging, "I deliberately bowed and begged so I could return and report. Please, Ladies, hurry to Mesa City, or Liza and the others may be in grave danger."
Cici nodded. "You did well. Blind stubbornness only leads to death. Being flexible is the mark of someone who can achieve great things!"
"Thank you for your understanding, Lady Cici! So, when are we heading to Mesa City?"
"Go rest for now. Joy and I will handle this matter." Cici waved him off.
"Yes, Ladies. I take my leave!"
After Leon Liang left, Cici looked at Joy and said, "I didn't expect such a small city like Mesa to have such a powerful figure. His cultivation must be at the War God level. Who do you think we should send to handle it?"
Joy thought for a moment. "Let Sarrow go. He's only recently become a Count, but he's a battle maniac!"
Cici said seriously, "Mesa City is our first expansion city. We can't afford any mistakes. Sending Sarrow alone isn't enough—I think we should send Dario as well!"
"Isn't that a bit of overkill?" Joy frowned slightly.
Cici shook her head. "No, our master is recuperating now. We can't let him down. Sending two is absolutely not overkill!"
"Alright, we'll do as you say. Send Dario and Sarrow to Mesa City!" Joy nodded.
Soon, Sarrow and Dario arrived to receive their orders. Both were first-generation vampires, not as strong as Cici and Joy, but they had reached the rank of Count.
A Count-level vampire is the equivalent of a Jindan-stage Immortal-Dao cultivator or a martial Grandmaster.
Sarrow was a Westerner, not very tall, but his eyes were full of boundless fighting spirit.
Dario, on the other hand, was a true Easterner—yellow skin, black eyes, and deep, mysterious eyes like two black holes. He was very quiet by nature.
"This mission cannot fail. Sarrow, Dario, I expect you to work together and kill the guardian of Mesa City!" Cici said to them.
"Lady Cici, I think I alone am enough. I swear I'll tear that damn Mesa City guardian to pieces!" Sarrow said, waving his fists.
Dario said nothing, but Cici's face instantly turned cold. "Sarrow, are you questioning Joy's and my orders?"
"I wouldn't dare!"
A hint of fear flashed in Sarrow's eyes.
"Good. Cooperate with Dario. If I find out you mess up our master's plans just to show off, I won't forgive you!" Cici said fiercely.
Sarrow shuddered. "Rest assured, Lady Cici, I'll work well with Dario!"
