Establishing Prestige for the Small Group
"If you're still breathing, then what I say goes." The young woman laughed instead of getting angry.
"Go play by yourself if you want to," Evan Yang said, flashing away and no longer bothering with this mysterious woman.
Watching Evan Yang leave, the young woman smiled and remarked, "He really is an interesting person." Then she left as well, entering a house hidden among the flowers.
Inside the house were various furnishings; only after entering the inner area did she reach her private quarters, where her maid Xiang'er awaited. Seeing the young woman return, Xiang'er smiled, "Miss, why did you play so long today?"
"I met someone interesting, so I played a bit longer," the young woman laughed.
"I thought so. Xiang'er has already prepared warm water for you, you can bathe anytime," the maid smiled.
"Alright, got it," the young woman replied, then undressed and immersed herself in the warm water, steam rising around her.
"Let me scrub your back, Miss," Xiang'er said, approaching the young woman's back to help her bathe.
When she knelt down and saw the young woman's back, Xiang'er was shocked. "Miss, what happened?"
"It's nothing, just a little accident," the young woman laughed.
"Impossible! Did someone attack you, Miss? I want revenge," Xiang'er protested, unable to believe it. She had never seen her mistress injured like this—even people from Fiend Palace rarely dared harm her, and few had the ability.
"Xiang'er, don't meddle in this, and don't tell anyone," the young woman said.
"But Miss..." Xiang'er was clearly uneasy.
The young woman signaled her to stop talking and closed her eyes, enjoying the massage. But Xiang'er kept it in mind—next time, she would definitely find out who had hurt her mistress.
"Miss, tell me, who hurt you? I won't tell anyone," Xiang'er pressed.
"I did it on purpose, it's not anyone else's fault. Don't overthink it," the young woman replied, ignoring her and keeping her eyes closed.
Seeing the young woman unwilling to explain, Xiang'er could only continue scrubbing her back helplessly.
Evan Yang, still a bit dazed after being dragged off by that young woman for practice, left the area feeling sullen. He then put on his armor—he was now officially one of Fiend Palace's people. Earlier, he'd been told to gather at a certain location.
So Evan Yang headed there, but because Fiend Palace was truly enormous and this was his first time inside, he had no idea where anything was. Helpless, he had to ask passing people for directions.
Those lower-ranked generals, seeing Evan Yang was a Fourth-Rank General, answered him very respectfully.
