Susie, Little Sister, Let’s Sleep Together

The red-clothed woman hesitated for a moment, but finally chose to sheath her sword and sit down by the campfire. However, her face still showed a hint of wariness—clearly, she hadn’t forgiven Ian Steele for deceiving her.

Ian Steele smiled nonchalantly, turning the wild rabbit over the fire as he said, "I am Young Master Ian Steele, and this is my wife, Susie. May I ask how I should address you, Miss?"

"Ian Steele?"

The Red Witch found the name vaguely familiar, but after thinking for a while, she just couldn’t recall where she’d heard it before and let it go. She shot Ian a glare, then her gaze landed on Susie, secretly wondering how this guy had the luck or skill to marry such a beautiful woman.

Hearing Ian introduce her as his wife, Susie couldn’t help but smile sweetly, a hint of happiness flashing at the corners of her lips. She smiled and nodded gently at the Red Witch in greeting.

Faced with Susie’s friendly gesture, the Red Witch grew a bit flustered. "You’re really beautiful, little sister."

"You’re beautiful too, big sister," Susie quickly replied, returning the compliment.

"Really?" The Red Witch finally broke into a smile, but quickly added, "This guy marrying you is the luck of ten lifetimes."

"No, no!" Susie waved her hands quickly. "It’s me who’s lucky—being favored by Young Master Ian is my fortune from ten lifetimes."

"Actually, she’s right. Winning Susie’s love is my own luck from ten lifetimes," Ian interjected with a laugh.

"Hmph, you just know how to sweet-talk girls," the Red Witch grumbled.

Ian just smiled and said nothing, but Susie earnestly explained, "Big sister, you misunderstand—Young Master Ian is truly good to me."

Seeing Susie stand up for Ian like that, the Red Witch rolled her eyes, but she didn’t badmouth Ian any further. "By the way, my name is Kara Moran. Susie, you’d better remember it."

"Nice to meet you, Sister Kara," Susie said politely.

"No need to be so formal, little sister Susie," Kara replied.

The more the two women chatted, the more polite they became. But as they talked, both couldn’t help sneaking glances at the rabbit Ian was roasting—after he’d brushed it with spices, the aroma was simply irresistible.

"Grrr..."

Suddenly, a strange sound broke the silence.

All three instinctively turned to look at Kara.

Feeling Ian’s gaze, Kara glared at him in embarrassment and snapped, "What are you staring at? I’ve been chasing those bandit chiefs for days and barely eaten—can’t I be hungry?"

Ian didn’t argue. He just tore off a rabbit leg and handed it to her. "Go ahead and try it. I’m pretty good at this, you know."

Kara wanted to refuse, but the aroma was just too tempting. After a moment’s hesitation, she took the rabbit leg and said, "You’re such a bragger. I don’t believe you’re that good."

Ian smiled and tore off another rabbit leg, handing it to Susie.

"Thank you, Young Master," Susie replied with a sweet smile.

There were four rabbit legs—just enough for everyone. After handing one to Hannah, Ian took the last one for himself and began eating slowly.

As for Kara, maybe she was just too hungry, or maybe Ian’s roasted rabbit was really that delicious—she finished her leg in no time, then eyed the remaining meat, but was too embarrassed to ask for more.

"Here, take some more!" Ian said with a grin, tearing off another third of the rabbit and handing it to her.

Kara took the meat Ian offered, but still insisted, "I... I just haven’t eaten in a while, that’s all. Honestly, this rabbit is just so-so—not nearly as good as the delicacies I’ve had before."

"No way! I think Young Master’s rabbit is amazing—I’ve never tasted anything so good!" Hannah chimed in, mouth full as she gnawed on her rabbit leg.

Kara instantly blushed bright red.

Ian nearly burst out laughing at that, and Susie couldn’t help but giggle.

"Miss, did I say something wrong?" Hannah asked, confused, as she saw Susie laugh.

"Just eat your rabbit leg and don’t talk nonsense," Susie scolded softly, then quickly added to Kara, "Sister Kara, please don’t mind Hannah—she’s just a silly girl."

"No... no problem. Why would I hold it against a maid?—Ugh, I’m so hungry... cough, cough... water, give me some water!"

Maybe she’d eaten too fast—a piece of bone from the rabbit got stuck in her throat.

Ian handed her the water flask just in time.

Kara snatched it up and gulped down a few big mouthfuls, finally swallowing the stuck piece of rabbit.

"Are you okay, Sister Kara?" Susie asked with concern.

"I... I’m fine," Kara replied awkwardly, wishing she could crawl into a hole. She thought to herself, Great, now I’ve made a fool of myself in front of that guy again.

The rest of the rabbit meat ended up in Kara and Hannah’s stomachs.

After eating their fill, no one felt like resting. Ian had a sudden idea and began telling a mythic story from his world: 'Long ago in the Ao Lai Kingdom by the Eastern Sea, there was a Flower-Fruit Mountain, and on it lay a five-colored stone left behind by the goddess Nüwa after she patched up the sky...'

That’s right—Ian was telling the story of Journey to the West. He hadn’t read the original novel, but he’d watched several TV adaptations.

So his version was a blend of what he remembered from those TV shows.

At first, Kara didn’t think much of it, but soon she was drawn in by the tale of the Monkey King. When Ian described Sun Wukong causing havoc in Heaven, Kara’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

Susie, meanwhile, clenched her tiny fists, her face full of worry.

When Ian reached the part where Sun Wukong was thrown into Supreme Lord Laozi’s Eight-Trigram Furnace, he suddenly stopped and said with a grin, "Alright, that’s it for tonight! If you want to know what happens next, you’ll have to wait for the next chapter!"

"And then? What happened to the Monkey King? Did he get burned up in the furnace?" Kara couldn’t help but demand when Ian suddenly stopped.

Ian shook his head. "It’s way too late. We should really get some sleep."

"You’re impossible! You’re just leaving us hanging!" Kara complained.

"Please, Young Master, just a little more?" Susie pleaded.

"Alright, just one more part—after this, we’re sleeping!" Ian relented, and continued: "Lord Laozi took the Monkey King to the Palace of Dou Shuai, untied his ropes, removed the instrument from his shoulder, and pushed him into the Eight-Trigram Furnace. The Daoists watching the furnace and the boys tending the fire stoked the flames and began the refining...

Unknowingly, forty-nine days passed. Lord Laozi figured it was ready, so he told the boys to open the furnace. To his shock, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven burst out, his eyes shining with divine light—the furnace hadn’t burned him up, but instead gave him his famous Fiery-Golden Eyes!"

Finally, Ian finished the story with Buddha pinning Sun Wukong beneath Five Elements Mountain—and refused to go on, even though it was already past midnight.

But all three girls were so invested in the Monkey King’s fate that none of them wanted to sleep.

After much pleading, seeing Ian wouldn’t continue, Kara’s eyes suddenly sparkled. She shot him a provocative glance, then turned to Susie and said, "Susie, little sister, why don’t we sleep together tonight?"
