Living Beings of Voidmount

12/19/2025

Joe Di extended his spiritual sense into the Jade Skeleton, discovering that the reason it had not decayed after all these years was because its owner had been a top-tier body-refining cultivator. In fact, their body refinement surpassed even his own, possibly reaching a level beyond the Celestial Physique.

The reason this skeleton clung to the White Jade Stele was due to a deep, lingering obsession. It seemed that in life, the desire for the stele was so intense that, even after obtaining it, the owner could never let go. Even after countless years in death, the grip remained unyielding.

Joe Di sighed and said, "I know this White Jade Stele was something you fought for, but your soul has long since departed, leaving behind only a remnant of obsession. I do not wish to harm your remains. Yet I must take this stele, so please let go."

If the lingering obsession failed to understand his intent, Joe Di would forcibly break the skeleton's grip.

Perhaps sensing that, after countless years, someone had finally come again, and that clinging to the stele no longer mattered, the skeleton's fingers loosened, letting the White Jade Stele fall to the ground.

Joe Di raised his hand and grabbed the stele. His spiritual sense probed into it, but found no refining restrictions or traces of artifact Dao aura. It seemed to be nothing more than an ordinary stone stele.

Joe Di tried to toss the stele into his ring, but to his surprise, it refused to enter.

Hmm? Joe Di examined the stele more closely. After observing it for nearly half a stick of incense, he still found nothing unusual. He tried again to send the stele into his Ninth World.

This time, the stele showed no abnormality and was directly sent into the Ninth World.

Joe Di was overjoyed. He was certain this stele was no ordinary item, but his Ninth World was equally extraordinary. Since the stele could not be stored in his ring, but could enter his Ninth World, it was clearly special.

Out of respect for the Jade Skeleton's willingness to let go, Joe Di raised his hand and dug a pit, intending to bury the remains within it.

Unexpectedly, just as Joe Di finished digging, the Jade Skeleton suddenly shattered and turned to dust. A relic engraved with words appeared before Joe Di.

The inscription on the relic was clear: "You have stolen my Voidspire Stele from Voidmount. One day, my daughter will avenge me. Wash your neck and wait for her to kill you in my name."

Joe Di was furious. This bastard really didn't know gratitude. The stele was clearly ownerless, yet this guy insisted it was his. Shameless beyond measure.

He was certain the White Jade Stele had been seized by this fellow, and since he died after obtaining it, was it not natural for someone else to take it? Even if it hadn't been Joe Di who found it, whoever claimed it in the struggle would rightfully own it.

He had even planned to build a tomb for this guy—what a waste of effort. Joe Di waved his hand, sending hundreds of arcs of lightning to blast the area within dozens of meters.

No matter if this guy was dead or alive, threatening Joe Di meant retaliation. Under his barrage of lightning, even reincarnation would be a risky prospect for this fellow.

After venting his anger, Joe Di continued onward.

After another half day's journey, Joe Di saw an inverted Azure Essence Vein. He was overjoyed. The reason he had reached the seventh layer of Immortal Emperor so quickly, aside from his Rule Cycle technique and the Ninth World, was the segment of Azure Essence Vein he obtained at Radiant Lake Palace.

The segment of Azure Essence Vein from Radiant Lake Palace had been used up, and he hadn't expected to find another here. It was like receiving a pillow when he was ready for a nap.

Joe Di stepped beside the Azure Essence Vein, but before he could reach for it, the vein disintegrated into dust and vanished within moments.

So it had already become virtual... Just how many years had this battle endured?

Joe Di felt disappointed. If even the essence vein had faded, it was a miracle that anything else could still exist.

Another day passed. Joe Di stopped beside a groove, where two skeletons lay. One skeleton wielded a long blade, which had cleaved through the other’s skull, splitting it in two.

The other skeleton had an unusually long arm, and its hand had crushed the blade-wielder’s Spiritual Sea. Even now, its hand bones remained atop the opponent’s Purple Mansion.

This was the second time Joe Di had encountered skeletons since entering Voidmount.

Joe Di walked over to the long blade and placed his hand on its spine. Waves of fierce blade intent surged forth, penetrating directly into Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea.

But Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea was far too powerful—no matter how strong the blade intent, it could not harm him.

As Joe Di released his grip, he sensed from the blade intent who its owner had been. The aura was familiar—this must have been a disciple of the Skyblade Sect.

With a crash, the two skeletons collapsed into dust at Joe Di’s touch.

The rings and treasures vanished, yet the long blade remained intact.

Joe Di picked up the long blade. He still had a Skyblade in his ring, but this one felt like an imitation of the Skyblade, already surpassing the level of supreme immortal weapons.

Joe Di was well aware of how formidable the Skyblade Sect’s body-refining techniques were—his Genesis Body Codex originated from them. Such powerful methods meant that even after countless years, the skeletons should not have turned to dust. The fact that all remains here had become ash, while some artifacts survived, made Joe Di suspect that Dao Aura corrosion was at work within Voidmount.

Only constant Dao Aura corrosion could reduce the remains of top body-refining experts to dust.

After storing the Skyblade, Joe Di’s gaze returned to the groove. Though it appeared empty, he sensed both people had perished because of it.

There was no trace of Dao Aura in the groove, but its size matched the White Jade Stele he had obtained earlier.

Joe Di was about to place the White Jade Stele into the groove when he suddenly sensed a familiar aura at the edge of his spiritual sense. It was the Dao Aura left by his Skyblade...

Joe Di was overjoyed and rushed forward without hesitation. He was certain this aura was left by Quentin June—after being struck twice by Joe Di’s blade, that Dao Aura could not be erased. Unless Quentin June’s understanding of the world’s laws surpassed Joe Di’s, which was impossible.

Why had he come here? Wasn’t it to find Quentin June? After being struck twice, Quentin June was surely dead. Joe Di sought Quentin June for two reasons: to inquire about Jaden Dai and why Jaden Dai was extracting the fate of the Four Immortal Continents; and to discover what realm lay above the Immortal Realm, and how to reach it.

After only two hours, Joe Di stopped, astonished by the sight before him.

Indeed, not only were there people ahead, but two of them. They were alive, not skeletons, both seated on stone stools and looking at Joe Di in surprise.

Joe Di recognized one of them—Quentin June, the very person he was searching for.

At this moment, Quentin June didn’t look injured at all. It was as if he’d run into an old friend, the two of them sitting here drinking tea.

The young man sitting opposite Quentin June looked as if his skin barely covered his bones—his face gaunt and hollow, with sunken eyes and cheeks. He stared at Joe Di in shock, his gaze lingering on the Azure Veil Blade at Joe Di’s back.

"Quentin June, are the blade wounds on your body from this man?" Byron White, Heir, asked, his voice icy.

Quentin June rose, bowed, and replied, "Yes, Young Master Byron White. This man’s blade Dao seems to fuse the laws of heaven and the universe. When he struck, he controlled the very laws of space, including the aura of Chrono Mastery. If I hadn’t escaped quickly, I would have perished within his time laws…"

"Chrono Mastery?" Byron White’s eyes blazed with intensity as he stared at Joe Di.

Even though Byron White hadn’t stood up, Joe Di felt a terrifying pressure sweep over him. At that moment, he could barely move—he even found it hard to breathe.
