Aren't You Afraid Your Daughter Will Be Eaten by Wolves

At this sight, every man present couldn’t tear his eyes away.

Today, she was dressed in a sharp, fitted outfit.

Soft pink and white tones made her look like a swaying flower bud, yet she exuded a rare heroic aura.

She was so stunning that women couldn’t help but smile, and men couldn’t help but—well, let’s just say they couldn’t close their legs…

Behind Prime Minister Gu stood Edward Lawrence and Evan Xiao.

Edward Lawrence rode his mighty, imposing Winged Tiger Beast, and called out to her, “Grace, come here, follow your father.”

“Alrighty!” Grace zipped over, light on her feet.

Edward Lawrence had already prepared a gentle little black mare for her.

Grace swung herself onto the horse and glanced at the massive, majestic Winged Tiger Beast ahead, suddenly feeling a whole lot smaller.

So unfair… She really wanted to ride a mighty spirit beast too…

She gripped the reins, her eyes full of quiet resentment.

Just then, she felt someone’s gaze on her.

She turned her head and saw Evan Xiao, riding his striking Silver Dragon horse. He looked noble and elegant as he glanced over, his eyes playful and teasing.

What are you laughing at?

Grace shot him a sideways look and tilted her chin up, all sass.

Evan Xiao’s smile deepened before he turned away.

But it was Louis Lin behind him who winked at her.

Grace got the message and nodded back.

At Colin Gu’s command, everyone entered the forest.

With Edward Lawrence shooting arrows ahead, Tenner and Edward Wang guarding her from behind, and her little black mare running fast and steady, Grace had a comfortable journey. She only needed to cheer and clap whenever her father hit a spirit beast.

About an hour later, Louis Lin came looking for her.

“Prime Minister,” Louis Lin greeted. “I’d like to borrow the young lady for a word.”

Edward Lawrence looked at Grace, and Grace nodded to him.

“Go ahead,” Edward Lawrence said with a smile. “I’ll wait for you here until noon.”

There’s still an hour until noon! Aren’t you worried your daughter might get eaten by wolves?

Grace rolled her eyes dramatically at her dad, then sauntered off with Louis Lin.

Once they’d walked a ways, Louis Lin’s face lit up as he said, “Miss, it’s done!”

“What’s done?” Grace was still thinking about how to ask for help and didn’t catch on right away.

“The princess, obviously!” Louis Lin grinned. “Just now, the general ran smack into her—got so close she nearly fainted! She spun around and puked! The whole scene was priceless—hahaha!”

Grace: “…Got a little too close?”

“Uh, uh! Don’t get the wrong idea!” Louis Lin hurried to explain. “The general almost shot the princess with an arrow, then went over to apologize, that’s all.”

As the saying goes, you can eat whatever you want, but you can’t say whatever you want.

Louis Lin now understood this all too well.

Grace didn’t say anything.

“You should’ve seen her face—the princess looked like she’d just smelled a rotten egg! When she gets back, I bet she’ll beg the Empress Dowager to call off the wedding! Genius move, right? I can’t believe I thought of it! Ha!”

Grace: “…”

Louis Lin: “Miss, let’s go! The general is waiting for you.”

“Where is he now?”

“Just up ahead.”

...

Louis Lin led her through twists and turns, finally leaving their horses behind and squeezing through a crack in the rocks. Suddenly, the view opened up—a huge gorge appeared before them.

The cliffs plunged thousands of feet, ancient trees crowded the landscape, and an aura of age and mystery filled the air.

“There’s a place like this on the mountain?” Grace asked in surprise.

“Yep!” Louis Lin replied. “The general only found this place by accident.”
