Evan Lin spoke calmly as he stepped forward.
As soon as he spoke, the faces of the people in the back of the courtyard all changed at once.
Martin Wu's face turned cold as he glared at Evan Lin. "This is pure nonsense! You shouldn't even be here! Hugh Hu! Take him away right now!"
Martin Wu was truly angry now. If today's events got out, it would be terrible news for the Wu family—the Oceanport Guan family coming to their door to demand someone, and only the family patriarch stepping out could barely hold the situation together.
Now, with Evan Lin stepping forward, Martin Wu's anger completely erupted.
"Uncle Wu... I... I really can't make that call."
Standing there, Hugh Hu looked miserable as he heard Martin Wu's scolding. How could he possibly order Evan Lin around? Even if he had a few more guts, Hugh wouldn't dare boss Evan Lin around.
Wendy Guan, standing nearby, frowned slightly as she saw Evan Lin step out.
Old Master Wu's eyes shone with a sharp light as he looked at Evan Lin, feeling that this young man possessed a steadiness and presence far beyond his years.
"And who do you think you are, daring to step out?" Sandra Guan's eyes were full of disdain as she glanced at Evan Lin, not taking him seriously at all.
"I'm here for two reasons today: to spar, and to get someone. I don't want to kill anyone." Tyson Tu looked at Evan Lin, his voice cold. "So get out now, and I’ll pretend you were never here."
As he spoke, Tyson Tu saw the young man still calmly walking forward, so he snorted coldly and stomped hard. A heavy sound rang out, and everyone saw the floor beneath Tyson’s foot split open, a narrow crack racing straight toward the youth.
The crack appeared suddenly, stretching forward and splitting the ground wherever it passed. Anyone could sense the powerful force contained within that fissure.
In an instant, the crack reached Evan Lin.
Hugh Hu turned pale with fright, and even Old Master Wu and the others showed flashes of surprise in their eyes.
Just one stomp could send the shockwave of inner strength so far—everyone could see how powerful Tyson Tu's inner strength was!
"Dodge now! If that inner strength hits you, it's either death or crippling!" Martin Wu's face changed as he shouted at Evan Lin.
But in everyone's eyes, the youth knew the crack was coming closer and closer, yet he kept moving forward without flinching, then lifted his foot.
At that moment, the crack—carrying immense force—finally reached his feet!
Seeing the crack about to blast the young man away, Walter Wu felt his heart sink.
Evan Lin turned his head slightly at Martin Wu’s words, glanced at him, and showed no change of expression. He kept walking as if taking a stroll in a courtyard, and gently set his foot down.
Boom!
A particularly deep, muffled sound rang out.
Everyone saw that the young man's foot landed precisely on the spreading crack!
The powerful force unleashed by Tyson Tu's stomp was instantly extinguished by the youth's ordinary-looking step!
"He's fine?"
Hugh Hu, still pale, swallowed hard as he looked at Evan Lin, his eyes full of shock. Seeing that Evan was unharmed, he finally felt somewhat relieved.
"He stomped out that force!" Walter Wu's heart was pounding wildly as he stared, still unable to believe it.
Back when he last saw Evan Lin at the Jinnan Military District, he just thought this kid must've used some trick to make Selina Shi see him differently.
Later, after warning Evan Lin, Walter went out of town on assignment. He'd only just rushed back today after hearing the Guan family was coming, so he didn't know much about what happened at the Jinnan Military District recently—and had no idea about Evan Lin's legendary defeat of Grant Yuan.
"Hmm?" Old Master Wu, who had half-risen from his seat, narrowed his eyes. When he saw Evan Lin's step just now, a hidden gleam flashed in his gaze. Then Old Master Wu slowly sat back in his Taishi chair, watching Evan Lin with great interest.
"This..." Martin Wu's throat went dry. He exchanged a glance with Wendy Guan, both of them visibly shaken.
Sandra Guan's expression darkened. She said sarcastically, "Didn't expect it—you've actually got some moves, kid."
Tyson Tu raised an eyebrow, giving Evan Lin a more serious look. "That last stomp, I used less than a tenth of my strength. It's rare for someone to take it head-on, but like I said—"
"I don't want to kill anyone today, so if you leave now, we can stay out of each other's way."
Tyson Tu's tone had changed a bit. At first, he thought Evan Lin was just a clown, but now, seeing Evan's skills, his attitude started to shift.
"I've already said, this is my business—I'll handle it myself." Evan Lin shook his head and kept walking forward.
"Your business? Do you even know what's going on, daring to step out and brag like that!" Sandra Guan's pretty face was full of anger.
Her son was beaten into the hospital, nearly crippled for life. She couldn't get over it, and now a stranger jumps out talking big, disrupting her and the Wu family's handling of things—how could she not be furious?
"If you're looking for the one who beat up Gavin Guan, then this is my business."
Evan Lin spoke calmly, "I was the one who beat him. I held back—I didn’t take his life. You should be grateful for that."
The youth spoke softly, and there was even a trace of sigh in his voice.
I held back—I didn’t take his life.
You should be grateful!
Hearing these two sentences, everyone froze on the spot.
"You were the one who beat Zehao!" Sandra Guan snapped, her voice shrill. Her eyes were full of venom as she glared at Evan Lin. "Tyson Tu! Break his arms and legs for me! I want him bedridden for life, repenting every day for what he’s done!"
Sandra Guan kept shouting orders.
Martin Wu was completely stunned, and Hugh Hu was frozen in place as well.
Walter Wu, gritting his teeth through the pain, climbed up from the ground and looked over, shouting nervously to Evan Lin, "Watch out! This guy isn’t just at peak Inner Strength—he’s only half a step from the Vajra Realm!"
"Not only that, he’s mastered all sorts of martial arts—his fists and kicks are deadly. Don’t get yourself killed!"
Walter Wu cursed under his breath, his heart in his throat, terrified Evan Lin would get killed and Selina Shi would be heartbroken.
As he spoke, Martin Wu hurried over to Old Master Wu, about to say something, but saw Old Master Wu shake his head slightly.
Old Master Wu gazed calmly and said, "A prodigy. His inner strength is terrifying."
Martin Wu heard Old Master Wu’s words and was still confused. When he turned to follow Old Master Wu’s gaze, he suddenly saw the ground beneath the youth’s feet—and instantly froze, his face full of disbelief.
It was as if he had witnessed something impossible.
