Liam Willow’s earnest defense only made him look more adorable, but the other three just shot him a disdainful glance—each one’s eyes screamed, 'Never seen a girl before, you bookworm!'
“So, who’s it gonna be?” Lucian Vane curled his lips into a sly smile at her, raising his silver needle and casually aiming it in her direction. Ivy Shen shivered unconsciously—this guy was prettier than most women, but he was seriously chilling.
Adrian Night snorted coldly, still lazily sipping his wine like she was thin air.
Seeing all this, Ivy Shen took a deep breath and reminded herself: Hot guys can totally get away with acting cocky. Honestly, if she ever managed to pin these monsters down and make them moan, wouldn’t that be hilarious? She couldn’t help but smirk at the thought.
Splash—thud! A huge ripple spread across the pool. Did she just see... something thick and snaky?
“Did you guys... did you just see something?” Ivy Shen blurted out, not even sure why she asked. But a seriously bad feeling was crawling all over her.
Click, click—the sound of Caleb Miles’s abacus echoed. He was sprawled at the very edge of the pool, so he’d heard everything. He looked up and asked, “See what?” But before Ivy could answer, he grumbled, “Ugh, this bath is way too hot.” With that, he casually flipped his tail out of the water to cool off—ah, so refreshing!
“Ah…” The moment Ivy Shen saw a huge, thick, bright blue python tail, her legs gave out and she collapsed to the floor. Her face went paper white, and she stammered, lips trembling, “Did you guys... did you see that?”
...?!
“Quick—get out, get out now!” Ivy’s voice was suddenly frantic and shrill. It wasn’t just dislike—snakes terrified her. And now there was a giant python in the pool. And it was bright blue, which obviously meant it was super poisonous. Everyone knows—the brighter the snake, the deadlier it is!
“Wife, are you okay?” Liam Willow asked, worry written all over his face when he saw how pale she was.
“Hurry up, you guys, get out of there! There’s a snake—a giant python—in the pool!” Ivy Shen’s voice was thick with tears as she tried to scramble to her feet. Seriously, anyone who saw a giant python in their bath would totally lose all feeling in their legs!
“Wife... are you really okay?” Liam Willow asked again, his face full of worry.
Adrian Night smirked and took another slow sip of wine, muttering under his breath, “Idiot.”
“I’m serious—really, I’m not lying to you! There’s a giant python in there, and it’s blue!” Ivy Shen shouted, totally panicked. Oh god, was she really about to watch a snake eat someone alive?!
