Cecilia Gu waited until everyone had stopped before slowly walking over, lifting the thermal container in her hand and giving it a little shake, her face apologetic. "Sorry, am I interrupting you?"
Earl Field smiled and shook his head, stretching out his long legs as he walked over to Cecilia Gu. "Something up?"
Cecilia Gu handed over the thermal container. "I just thought you were right earlier, it really was my fault. I made this soup myself, consider it my apology. I know a little soup can't make up for my mistake, but I just wanted to show my sincerity."
Earl Field smiled gently.
He was, after all, a British aristocrat—his noble bearing made his smile especially charming.

"My son is amazing." Cecilia Gu didn't hesitate to praise him. Hearing her words, Miles Gu's eyes suddenly sparkled with pure joy.
The smile at the corner of Earl Field's mouth grew wider. He said quietly, "The weather's about to change. Is everyone ready?"
Cecilia Gu nodded. "Pretty much. With so many people and enough supplies, we got everything ready quickly."
Earl Field nodded. "We're all set on our end too."
Cecilia Gu glanced up at the sky, which was growing darker, and said, "Drink it while it's hot. I’ll head back now."
"Alright." Earl Field smiled softly and nodded. "Don't worry, I’ll protect Miles Gu with my life!"
Cecilia Gu smiled and nodded, reaching out to touch Miles Gu's head, then said goodbye to Earl Field and left.
Watching Cecilia Gu's departing figure, Earl Field and Miles Gu stood there without moving, only looking away after she disappeared into the woods.
The weather changed quickly.
Just moments ago the sun was shining, but now it's suddenly covered by clouds.
