Personal Guard

Evan Xiao shivered all over and looked down at her foot. "You kicked him... there?"

Grace suddenly felt a chill at her toes and nervously tried to cover them with her skirt.

"Attack! Kill anyone you see, human or ghost! If I don't get my revenge today, I'll write my name backwards!" Andrew Zhao shouted.

The two Spirit Master henchmen advanced toward them menacingly.

But before they could take more than a few steps, a terrifying force swept across their throats. The two didn't even have time to speak before collapsing, dead.

Andrew Zhao was shocked. He clamped his legs together and backed away. "Who are you? How dare you kill my men? Do you even know who I am?"

Evan Xiao glanced at him, then suddenly reached out and twisted the air.

Andrew Zhao's face instantly turned beet red, veins bulging, his eyes nearly popping out as he let out a bizarre, agonized scream. "Ah! Ah!"

"Young Master! Young Master! What's wrong?" His guards were so frightened by his appearance they nearly wet themselves, trembling as they asked.

Andrew Zhao couldn't answer. His eyes rolled back and he fainted dead away.

Blood gushed from his crotch.

Something fell out of his pants leg—it was his manhood!

"Ah! Young Master!" The guards looked like they'd seen a ghost, their eyes wide as they stared at Evan Xiao. "Who… who are you? How dare you…"

"I'm Evan Xiao, the newly appointed Grand Marshal," Evan Xiao said. "Go back and tell Duke Zhao, if he has any issues, he can come find me. I'll be waiting!"

"Evan Xiao… Grand Marshal Evan Xiao?" The guards exchanged glances, then carried their young master and the two Spirit Masters' corpses away.

Grace took a deep breath. "General, thank you! I have to hurry up and reach the Spirit Master level. Then let's see who dares come to our house and make trouble!"

Evan Xiao didn't say anything. He suddenly grabbed her and started walking away.

"Hey? What are you doing? Where are we going? I was just at my doorstep…" Grace struggled as Evan Xiao pulled her onto the Silver Dragon Stallion and galloped back to the General's Manor.

Tenner scratched the back of his head, looking completely confused.

Why did he feel like the General was angry?

The General's Manor was built to the standards of a first-rank prince's residence—far grander than their own Marquis estate.

A squad of soldiers stood guard at the entrance. When they saw Evan Xiao leading Grace over, they snapped to attention and saluted.

"She's my personal guard. From now on, she can come and go from the General's Manor as she pleases. No need to stop her," Evan Xiao instructed.

"Yes, sir!" The soldiers responded with righteous enthusiasm.

As soon as he left, their eyes started darting around.

Such a beautiful personal guard—was she really just a guard?

And he was holding her hand as they walked in...

"Why did you drag me to your place?" Grace asked. "And when did I become your personal guard?"

"Someone!" Evan Xiao called.

"General!" Louis Lin hurried over.

"Bring a basin of water!"

"Yes, sir." He hurried off and quickly returned with a basin of water.

Evan Xiao pressed Grace down onto a stool and turned to look at the stunned Louis Lin.

"Any other orders, General?" Louis Lin asked, completely bewildered.

"Leave."

"Oh..." Louis Lin turned and left, closing the door behind him.

Then Evan Xiao knelt down and started taking off Grace's shoes.

He took off her shoes, then her socks.

"What are you doing?" Grace asked, utterly baffled.

Evan Xiao didn't answer. He left her feet bare and placed them in the basin.

Then he washed them, one by one.

"Are you crazy?" Grace stared at him, dumbfounded.

"What did I tell you before?" Evan Xiao's voice was chilling.
