Mind-Cultivating Pill

2/14/2026

Leaving the airport.

"You're just going to let him off like that?"

Damien You spoke up: "Want me to take care of that guy?"

"He really rubbed me the wrong way."

Damien continued, watching Evan curiously.

Damien knew exactly what Evan Lin had done in Hong Kong.

Given Master Lin from Seacrest's status, it was surprising he could restrain his anger toward those clueless two.

Damien found this pretty shocking.

Back in Hong Kong, just one word from Master Lin made the Li family kneel and welcome him for ten miles.

Victor Zhou didn't even get a chance to apologize before he was blasted to pieces.

Even the woman inside the Great Bronze Sarcophagus didn't end well.

As for the Heavenly Tribulation, that was completely suppressed.

Yet for someone like Master Lin from Seacrest, he didn't even bother to have anyone make a move just now.

"Wipe them out completely?"

Evan shot him a glance. "Pointless."

"They're just a bunch of small fry. A lesson is a lesson."

After Evan finished speaking, Damien nodded. "You've got a broad mind."

Evan didn't bother to explain.

It was Lily Zhong who made the call to Leon Zheng, letting him handle his old subordinate who'd followed him for over ten years.

Leon Zheng is sentimental. Evan doesn't care much for the Zheng family, but first, Joy Zheng is deeply attached to them; second, Autumn Zheng has worked hard to help Evan; and third, the old Mr. and Mrs. Zheng truly care for Evan and want to make up for past mistakes.

Family ties are hard to break in this life.

Evan couldn't be bothered to make things difficult for Leon Zheng over such a trivial matter.

Otherwise, if Evan had made that call himself, no matter how reluctant Leon was, firing someone would've been the least of it.

As for Ryan Wu, that kind of small fry isn't even worth a second glance from Evan.

He just got unlucky, took a punch and a kick from the middle-aged man, suffered a bit, but if Evan had acted, he'd be finished.

Back to the company.

Lily Zhong drove over, Evan sat in the front passenger seat, Lily at the wheel, with Queenie Tong and Yvette Locke in the back.

Damien You and Ian You took a cab and followed behind.

"In a few days, you'll go to Hong Kong and take over the Li family's assets. The two in the car behind will stay and help you manage things—they'll be your bodyguards from now on."

In the car, Evan briefly explained what Lily should do next.

Lily Zhong listened quietly and nodded.

"Also, these two will be with you. If there's something they can do, let them help out."

After arranging things for Queenie and Yvette, Evan took them on a quick tour of Angel Epoch Corporation.

In the afternoon, they found a restaurant and grabbed a simple meal.

Evan originally planned to visit the Zheng estate, but after a moment's hesitation, he decided to go to Miracle Hand Sect first.

He took a cab to the high-speed rail station and bought a ticket to Capitalview City.

After a long journey, by the time Evan reached Miracle Hand Sect, it was already late at night.

"Young Lord."

Warren Wu had been waiting at the Miracle Hand Sect entrance, looking completely respectful.

His aura was far loftier than before.

"Your pillcraft's improved?"

Evan glanced at him, a little surprised.

"Thanks to you, Young Lord, I've made a lot of progress."

Warren Wu chuckled, looking much younger: "Now, every alchemist in Miracle Hand Sect is steadily improving their pill-refining skills."

"They refine pills day and night, and I found that when they're extremely exhausted, taking a Nourishing Spirit Pill instantly clears their mind and greatly boosts refining efficiency."

Warren was pretty excited about this discovery.

Before, Evan only told them that for every ten Nourishing Spirit Pills they refined, they could keep one as a reward.

Most of those pills were either sold through various channels or kept as collectibles.

Evan hadn't told them they could use Nourishing Spirit Pills to refine pills, because although they're alchemists, their bodies are still mortal—not even martial artists.

If they took Nourishing Spirit Pills recklessly with no supervision, it could easily harm their bodies.

Evan had planned to wait until their pillcraft improved before bringing this up, but Warren Wu figured it out on his own.

That saved Evan some trouble.

"Before I leave, I'll teach you how to refine the Mind-Cultivating Pill. It's even better for alchemists—nourishes the mind, boosts pill-refining efficiency."

Warren's face lit up with excitement, nodding eagerly at Evan's words.

He was the one who benefited most from Evan in Miracle Hand Sect.

Originally, at his age, Warren had no hope of making new breakthroughs in pillcraft.

But thanks to Evan's guidance and passing down techniques, Warren finally started to grasp the basics, and his natural talent for pill-refining began to show.

Now, Warren's pillcraft had improved massively.

"Should I call Lin Xi and Ah Fu over?"

Warren looked at Evan: "Those two are seriously talented. They can refine two batches of Nourishing Spirit Pills a day, and the quality is way above everyone else."

"But Ah Fu... I've always felt there's something odd about him."

Warren hesitated, glancing at Evan.

"No need. Just hand over all the Nourishing Spirit Pills to me."

Evan glanced at Miracle Hand Pavilion—though it was late, the place was brightly lit.

Now, Miracle Hand Sect had five hundred alchemists.

Five hundred alchemists able to refine Nourishing Spirit Pills—this little force could be considered a minor pill sect on the Immortal Martial Continent.

Evan didn't dig too deep into Ah Fu's situation.

As long as he keeps refining pills and doesn't cause trouble, Evan doesn't care if he has ulterior motives.

In the face of absolute power, any schemes are just a joke.

Warren didn't waste words. He took Evan to a room and handed over more than a thousand Nourishing Spirit Pills he'd prepared.

"Most of their pill-refining skills aren't mature yet, and this time the interval was too short, so the pills are limited."

Warren looked a little apologetic.

Evan waved his hand, storing all the pills in his spatial ring. Then he asked for paper and pen and wrote down a pill formula.

"This is the Mind-Cultivating Pill formula. Practice with it first—I've marked the key points for refining. If you can't make it or run into trouble, contact me."

"Once you've mastered it, you can refine this pill yourself and use it as a reward for those talented and hardworking. When the time is right, teach it to others."

Evan gave brief instructions, popped a pill, restored his strength, and left Miracle Hand Sect.

"Back in Hong Kong, thanks to the Heavenly Tribulation, the Grand Dao Foundation Art couldn't absorb spiritual qi. Now that I'm inland, it works again, but way slower than before."

Thinking as he walked, Evan left Miracle Hand Sect under cover of night, heading for the Capitalview City high-speed rail station.

Things with Hank Chu can't be delayed any longer. Evan hadn't seen him in ages, and was curious what had happened.
