Casual Interrogation

One of the lab mice looked familiar—its tail was tipped with a tuft of pink fur.

It was right next to David Zhou.

David Zhou's pupils contracted sharply, and he began to tremble all over.

He was the second young master of the Zhou family—when had he ever seen anything like this?

Even when people outside had issues with him, at worst they'd throw some passive-aggressive barbs his way or snap back once or twice.

But nothing like this—so ruthless.

Here, they dissected things at the drop of a hat.

Experimented on anything whenever they felt like it.

Was there any humanity left here?

David Zhou's breathing grew heavier.

Just then, footsteps echoed behind him.

David Zhou wanted to turn around, but his body was limp below the neck. He felt every hair on his body stand on end.

Was the newcomer going to dissect him too?

"Oh." A young man's voice came from behind, flat and emotionless. "He's been delivered."

"Who? Who are you?" David Zhou's face twisted with panic. "Who are you? What do you want?"

He shifted his gaze and saw a young man in a white lab coat step into view.

David Zhou swore he'd never seen this guy before. He had no idea why he'd been dragged here.

"David Zhou. Second son of the Zhou family." Jiro Hirayama sized up the man before him. Sure, he looked presentable, but to Jiro, all humans looked pretty much the same.

"You know me?" David Zhou's eyes lit up. "If you know who I am, how dare you bring me here? Aren't you afraid the Zhou family will come after you?"

Jiro Hirayama gave him a look reserved for idiots. "Do you really think I'd let you walk out of here in one piece?"
