"Son, where are you going?" Madam Zhou saw David Zhou heading out again and couldn't help but ask.

"Mom, I'm meeting Sophie Mo for dinner." David Zhou had once again become the suave Second Young Master of the Zhou family. "I won't be back tonight."

"This child, honestly." Madam Zhou grumbled but didn't stop him.

"I... came by myself?" David Zhou looked a bit dazed.

"Yes," the waiter glanced at David Zhou. When David Zhou met the waiter's eyes, his mind felt foggy, and he subconsciously said, "Right, I came last night. I was waiting for a friend."

"You remember now? That's great." The waiter let go and handed David Zhou over to other staff members.

If the Zhou family could marry into the Mo family, they'd never have to worry again!

David Zhou held the back of his neck, feeling that his fall was a bit strange. Why was he unhurt everywhere except for his neck?

David Zhou went home, feeling exhausted. He didn't bother to greet anyone and went straight to his room to rest.

On the third day, when David Zhou woke up, he had completely forgotten everything that happened in the previous two days.

"Son, where are you going?" Madam Chow saw David Zhou heading out again and couldn't help but ask.

"Mom, I'm meeting Sophie Mo for dinner." David Zhou had once again become the suave Second Young Master of the Zhou family. "I won't be back tonight."

"This child, honestly." Madam Chow grumbled but didn't stop him.

So what if Sophie Mo is married?

As the dignified Miss Mo, even if she's married, she's still someone countless people chase after.

If the rumors are true, and Sophie Mo really divorces Julian King, wouldn't her son have a chance?

If the Zhou family could marry into the Mo family, they'd never have to worry again!

At this moment, Sophie Mo, who knew all the inside details, felt incredibly complicated.

David Zhou had already forgotten what he'd been through, and was still following the original plan to meet her for dinner.

Sophie Mo really wanted to ask him, where did he get the nerve?

Sophie Mo also understood that now wasn't the time to alert anyone, so she still had to go to the meeting and have dinner as planned.

"Get my outfit ready for today," Sophie Mo instructed her maid. "I might be home late tonight."

"Yes, Miss Mo." The maid quickly matched clothes, shoes, and jewelry for Sophie Mo, then saw her out the door.

While driving, Sophie Mo called via Bluetooth, "Max, Cici and Rona have helped me so much. Next, I might need you to step in."

These past two days, Julian King kept running over to Max Mo's place, doing everything he could to please him.

While Cecilia and Rona Muir were investigating, Max Mo was busy too. He got firsthand information, and after confirming Julian King's innocence, finally treated him a bit better.

"As long as you understand," Max Mo hung up, glanced at his brother-in-law, and said, "You're no use to me here."

"Max," Julian King looked at Max Mo pitifully. "I'm really innocent this time! Because of my dad's wild past, I'm just collateral damage! I've never had a second thought about Sophie. Cici even vouched for me about Dale, Max, you have to believe me!"

Max Mo sighed. "I can help investigate this, but whether you win Sophie back is up to you. Don't think just because you have Sean, my sister will be loyal to your King family. As long as I'm in this position, my sister has the right to replace you!"

"Max!" Julian King quickly responded. "I've already separated my assets from the family. The company now belongs to me and Leon King, nothing to do with the Kings! I know my mom's confused, so no matter what, I won't bring Sophie back to that house. We're not going anywhere, we'll stay here with you! I've already transferred the key parts of the company here and will gradually move everything over! Max, I really know I was wrong! Sophie and I have real feelings, even without Sean, our relationship is solid! Sophie's just mad at me now, but once I fix things, I'll win her back!"

Max Mo smiled and said, "Telling me all this so nicely won't help—you've got to convince Sophie!"

"I will, I will!" Julian King added, "Max, that David Zhou is up to no good, you should have someone keep an eye on him!"

"You think I need you to tell me that?" Max Mo gave Julian King a long look. "You! If only you'd known then what you know now!"

If Julian King hadn't kept his head straight, Max Mo wouldn't have let him off so easily!

David Zhou put on his gentlemanly air and said, "Flowers for a beauty. As long as you don't mind the cliché."

If Julian King ever betrays Sophie Mo, that's it—if he doesn't get forced to divorce, Max Mo isn't Max Mo!

Sean King is smart and adorable, and Max Mo couldn't bear to let the kid live in a broken family, so he let Julian King off for now.

Sophie Mo soon arrived at the meeting spot, and from afar, she saw David Zhou approaching with a bouquet.

If it were before, Sophie Mo might have accepted those flowers.

After all, David Zhou used to like her out of pure affection.

Suddenly, David Zhou reached out and took Sophie Mo's hand, his voice earnest. "I'm sorry, Sophie, I didn't realize you were unhappy in your marriage. If I'd known, I wouldn't have run away back then—I should've had the courage to fight for you and take you from Julian King! He can't give you happiness!"

That really turned Sophie Mo off.

Still, Sophie Mo didn't show any displeasure on her face. She smiled and said, "We're so familiar, why bother with flowers?"

David Zhou put on his gentleman act and said, "Flowers for a beauty. As long as you don't think it's tacky."

"They're nice," Sophie Mo nodded perfunctorily, then handed the bouquet to her bodyguard. She asked David Zhou, "So, why did you ask me out today?"

"What, can't I invite you to dinner unless there's something going on?" David Zhou clutched his chest, pretending to be hurt. "We're old classmates, it's nice to catch up over a meal."

Sophie Mo twitched her lips. "True. Let's go in and eat."

David Zhou had reserved the restaurant in advance. It was a great spot, by the window, with lots of light.

Sophie Mo sat down, grabbed the menu, and casually ordered a few signature dishes. "Why didn't you ever want to catch up before, but now you're here?"

Suddenly, David Zhou reached out and held Sophie Mo's hand, speaking earnestly. "I'm sorry, Sophie, I didn't know you were unhappy in your marriage. If I'd known, I wouldn't have run away back then—I should've fought to take you from Julian King! He can't make you happy!"

Sophie Mo forced down her disgust and calmly pulled her hand back. "Who says I'm unhappy?"

"Sophie, stop lying to me!" David Zhou looked torn and regretful. "Everyone told me you came back to the country alone with your child, and that jerk Julian King didn't come with you! Even though you're the Mo family's heiress and have plenty of protection, you shouldn't have to come back alone with your kid! I've heard all about the King family's mess! It's outrageous—they're having kids just to fight over inheritance! In the Zhou family, only children born in wedlock can inherit! But the Kings even let kids born outside inherit and get a share!"

"How do you know all this?" Sophie Mo asked casually. "Aren't you busy with work? Since when do you have time for gossip?"

Sophie Mo couldn't help but laugh. "That's hard to say. If I finally get divorced, I don't want to rush into another marriage. Maybe I'll find someone younger and more handsome? If I'm going to have a man marry into my family, why not pick a young, attractive one?"

"I know," Sophie Mo replied coolly.

David Zhou seemed encouraged and looked up at Sophie Mo. "Sophie, divorce Julian King! I'll take care of you! I'll treat your child as my own!"

"Why are you so sure I'll get divorced?" Sophie Mo asked.

"Because the King family..." David Zhou almost blurted out that someone was purposely targeting the King family, trying to break up Julian King and Sophie Mo, and that their divorce was only a matter of time.

David Zhou wasn't stupid—he knew he couldn't say that, so he swallowed his words and changed the subject. "Because the King family treats you this way, the Mo family won't let them off! That kind of toxic family will only ruin your relationship with Julian King. I know it's not right for me to say this, but I've already missed my first chance—I can't miss a second! Sophie, I'm serious about you! I'd even marry into the Mo family for you!"

"Did you discuss it with your family?" Sophie Mo felt colder inside—he'd even offer to marry in just to secure the Mo family's alliance?

She must be in high demand!

So popular, so sought after!

"Whether my family agrees or not, as long as you want it, I'll have the courage to go through with it." David Zhou saw that Sophie Mo hadn't rejected him, so he pressed on. "My big brother will inherit the family business, so I'm not that important! My parents won't object! Sophie, I know you're a good person—you won't let me down, right?"

Sophie Mo couldn't help but laugh. "That's hard to say. If I finally get divorced, I don't want to remarry so soon. Maybe I'll find someone younger and more handsome? If I'm going to have a man marry into my family, why not pick a young, good-looking one?"

David Zhou's face changed. "What do those kids know? They're not as mature as I am! Sophie, do you already have someone in mind? Who do you want to marry into the Mo family?"

Just then, the food arrived, but David Zhou had no appetite. He stared intently at Sophie Mo, pressing her for an answer.

"That's hard to say," Sophie Mo replied, unconcerned, eating as she spoke. "It's all about fair competition, isn't it?"
