Night gradually deepened, and the stars overhead began to emerge one by one. Gazing up at the heavens, Evan Lin couldn’t help but ask, “Lena, can you borrow Stellar Power from the stars?”
“Of course I can! But the star I borrow from is just an ordinary one, so its Stellar Power isn’t all that strong. Still, I’m grateful—most people don’t even know how to borrow it. By the way, why’d you suddenly ask about this?” Lena asked, a little confused.
“I was just thinking about the Crimson Demon Star that’ll appear in a hundred thousand years. Back then, the War of the Gods started because of its arrival—Supreme Titus from the Demonic Realm attacked the God Realm, and rumor has it he’ll be resurrected when it shows up again. The Demonic Realm’s armies will launch another invasion.” Evan explained.
“Why are you worrying about something so far off, you dummy? Even if Supreme Titus comes back, so what? Back then, the God Realm had Frostbane Imperial Palace leading the fight, and now it has Heavenblade Sect. That kind of apocalypse isn’t for you to stress over. What you should focus on is raising your own strength as fast as possible.
If that day ever comes, as long as you’re strong enough, surviving will be easy. A hundred thousand years might sound long, but it’s not that far off—so stop worrying about it.” Lena laughed, even reaching out to pinch Evan’s cheek.
Evan gently took Lena’s delicate hand and said, “Don’t worry. One day, I’ll make you see me in a whole new light!”
Suddenly, a meteor streaked across the sky. Lena exclaimed, “Evan, did you see that star? It’s so rare to spot one! In all my years, I’ve only seen two before—this is the third time ever. I’m so excited!”
Evan glanced at Lena’s happy expression, feeling puzzled. It was just a meteor—what was the big deal? He’d seen countless meteors before, even meteor showers back in the lower realms.
“Lena, it’s just a meteor. Seeing you so happy, you really do look like a three-year-old.” Evan joked.
“You really don’t know what a meteor means?” Lena instantly turned serious.
Evan was starting to feel something was off. Just looking at Lena’s expression, he could tell this meteor definitely wasn’t as simple as he’d thought. He asked, “So what’s so special about this meteor? Don’t tell me you can actually borrow its Stellar Power?”
“It’s insanely hard to see a meteor in the God Realm,” Lena explained. “Meteors really do carry powerful Stellar Power, but because they flash by so fast and then fall, nobody can absorb that power in time.”
“But exactly because meteors only appear in the sky for a moment, once they hit the ground they turn into meteorites. Meteorites actually contain that same powerful Stellar Power, and you don’t need any special borrowing technique—you can just absorb it directly.”
How much Stellar Power you can absorb depends on your physical tolerance. The power inside a meteorite is way beyond what you’d expect—some people can break through two or three realms in just a few days, and the truly lucky ones might even break through four, like jumping straight from early God-King to mid or late God-Emperor.
So yeah, meteors are ridiculously precious. But you need heaven-defying luck to actually get a meteorite—not just anyone gets the chance. Honestly, just seeing a meteor at all is already amazing.” Lena said.
Evan was honestly a little shocked—he’d never imagined there was something out there that could boost your strength so fast. Maybe he needed to find a meteorite for himself. Back in the lower realms, he’d seen meteorites before, but they basically never had any Stellar Power inside.
Most meteorites down there just had rare ores, which alchemists and artificers used for crafting gear, so he’d never paid much attention. But after hearing Lena’s explanation, something finally clicked.
If a meteor falls, it might smash through the spatial barriers between the God Realm and Immortal Realm, and then from Immortal Realm down to the lower realms. As it breaks through those barriers, the Stellar Power inside gets burned up—by the time it lands down below, it’s all gone.
But meteorites that land directly in the God Realm don’t break through those two barriers, so their Stellar Power stays intact. It’s just that meteorites showing up in the God Realm are insanely rare—meteors move so fast, there’s always a chance they’ll punch through into another realm.
“Maybe one day I’ll need to find a meteorite and absorb its power myself. But honestly, seeing this meteor right now doesn’t help—at that speed, there’s no way for us to know where it’ll land. Aren’t you just getting excited for nothing?” Evan asked.
“Excited for nothing? No way!” Lena shot back. “Meteors are fast, sure, but if you can see one, you can figure out the direction it’s falling. Not everyone in the God Realm can even see a meteor—in Stormtower, maybe less than ten people can see the one tonight.”
The more Lena talked, the more mysterious it all sounded. Evan stared at her, totally confused, and joked, “So everyone else is blind? It’s just a meteor! If you can see it, you must be seriously lucky.”
“Actually, meteors appear every night, but very few people can see them. Only when your internal Star Mark resonates with the meteor’s Stellar Power can you see it. You can’t really sense that resonance, though.” Lena explained.
Plus, if you can see a meteor, it means it’s about to fall. From the way it streaks across the sky, you can estimate where it’ll land. After it lands, it slowly cools into a meteorite—the faster it transforms, the stronger the Stellar Power inside. If you’re lucky, you should go for it.” Lena encouraged.
“Let’s talk about that later. If you want to check it out, I’ll go with you,” Evan offered.
Lena’s eyes lit up. “Then let’s go! I bet we can reach the landing spot in three days, max. No time to waste—we should head out right now!”
“Aren’t you going to tell your dad? If we just leave, he’ll be mad!” Evan said.
“Don’t worry, I’m not a kid anymore—he won’t get mad. If you want, we can send him a message once we get there,” Lena replied.
“Seriously, we can’t just tell him now?” Evan asked.
“If we tell him now, he’ll definitely stop me from leaving. Come on, let’s just go—this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance!” Lena insisted.
Evan wanted to refuse, but when he saw Lena’s pleading look, he couldn’t say no. “Alright, let’s go check it out. I hope you’re lucky enough to get something!”
With that, the two of them shot into the sky, flying toward the meteor’s path. Whether they’d get anything or not—all up to luck...
