Searching for the Meteorite

Lena Zhong's flying speed wasn't very fast, so Evan Lin grabbed her hand and said, "Lena, let me take you. You're much slower than me now!"

Lena nodded slightly, and Evan immediately activated his Wind element, creating a streak of green afterimage as he shot off into the distance. The speed left Lena startled—it was so fast that even her father couldn't do much better.

But Evan was only at mid God-Emperor Realm, yet he could fly this fast. If he reached late God-Venerable, wouldn't his flight be like instant teleportation? Just thinking about it was enough to make her nervous.

Wind roared past their ears as they flew. Evan's speed was fast, but compared to a meteor, it was still far behind. He could only follow the meteor's path through the sky. Lena felt the man's strength and her heart was filled with sweetness.

Flying at full speed while carrying someone was still a huge drain for Evan. After several hours, sweat started to bead on his forehead and his speed dropped noticeably.

"Lin, let's rest for a bit. You're already exhausted, and it really pains me to see you like this," Lena said.

"I'm just worried that if we're late, someone else will get the meteorite. Then all our efforts will be for nothing," Evan chuckled.

"Do you think just anyone can spot that meteorite? To tell you the truth, only those who saw the meteor can sense it and find it quickly. Others, even if they do discover it, will need months or even longer to find it.

Once the meteor hits the ground and becomes a meteorite, it gives off powerful Stellar Power. That Stellar Power slowly forms a natural barrier that ordinary people can't see. Only those who saw the meteor can sense it, so you really don't need to worry," Lena said.

Evan frowned slightly. This girl was getting more and more mysterious—the things she described were almost unbelievable. This vast world really was full of strange wonders.

"Lin, the meteor's path points toward Lost Gods Valley. If we go there, we have to be careful—the valley master is a real eccentric. He's not just strong, his temper is stubborn as hell. Whatever you do, don't piss him off," Lena added.

"Lena, doesn't Lost Gods Valley have a secret realm? I heard that's where the Parasite-Killer Divine Lotus is," Evan asked, remembering what Blue-Shade God-Venerable had said.

"That's right. How did you know? There's a secret realm there, but hardly anyone goes in. It's just as dangerous as they say, and with my current strength, I wouldn't dare enter. Supposedly, there are powerful ferocious beasts inside," Lena replied.

"Ferocious beasts? Not divine beasts?" Evan asked, genuinely confused about the difference between the two.

"Of course they're ferocious beasts. Some are even fiercer than divine beasts. There's a difference: divine beasts have a divine core, an inner dan filled with powerful Divine Power, but ferocious beasts don't. Their energy gathers in beast crystals instead.

Every ferocious beast has a beast crystal—it's a powerful energy body, but gods can't absorb it. You'll understand later. Let's just hope our luck isn't terrible. If the meteor lands inside the secret realm, we might have to give up," Lena said.

"It's not as bad as you think! Even if it lands in the secret realm, I'll help you get it, so don't worry," Evan said seriously.

"If we really do get it, you have to absorb the energy yourself. It's you who needs to power up right now, not me. Honestly, I only told you about the meteor so you'd have a shot at it. My own cultivation can wait," Lena said.

Evan understood Lena's intentions, so he didn't say anything more. He just took her hand and kept moving forward, but this time he didn't push himself to the limit—instead, he slowed down a lot.

After flying nonstop for almost two days, Evan and Lena finally entered Lost Gods Valley's territory. "Lin, stop for now. We're inside Lost Gods Valley's domain. Don't fly anymore—let's sense where the meteor landed first," Lena suddenly said.

The two of them landed, and Evan asked, "The meteor should've hit the ground long ago—how are we supposed to sense it? I don't have that kind of skill."

"If you saw the meteor, you can definitely sense it. Just try it yourself. With your current divine sense, you should be able to sense thousands of kilometers around you. Only those who saw the meteor can sense the Stellar Power barrier around the meteorite," Lena explained.

After Lena said that, Evan understood. He immediately spread his divine sense to search, and Lena did the same. After half an hour, they both stopped. Evan shook his head and said, "I don't think I found anything. It's probably not here—let's keep moving!"

They kept going, stopping each time within their divine sense range. After almost two days of this, still nothing. Evan was getting frustrated; using his divine sense nonstop for two days was a huge drain on his spiritual power.

Feeling dizzy, Evan took out two pills from his Coiling-Dragon Ring, giving one to Lena. These were the same Mind-Focusing Pills he'd used after unleashing Absolute Cleave—they worked wonders for restoring spiritual power.

"Lena, did we search the wrong area? There's no sign of any meteorite here! Got any ideas?" Evan asked.

"Just keep looking. Maybe the meteorite already landed somewhere else," Lena replied.

"Where? In Lost Gods Valley's city? If that's the case, we're out of luck. Also, when a meteor hits the ground, shouldn't it cause a huge commotion? Like a crater, shockwaves for dozens or even hundreds of kilometers?" Evan asked.

"You're right—a meteor impact should blast out a crater and cause shockwaves. But those get canceled out by the meteorite's massive Stellar Power, so no one can actually detect it. It's a strange phenomenon, and I can't really explain it myself.

I'm just worried the meteor might've landed inside the secret realm. If it fell in the city, we'd have no shot at it—no point wasting energy. But if it's in the secret realm, that's a whole other headache," Lena said.

"Doesn't matter where it is—we have to find it. How far is the secret realm from here? Why don't we go take a look now?" Evan said.

"Should be tens of thousands of kilometers away. I passed by it once with my father, so I kind of remember. But we should check this whole area first—what if it's hiding in some corner? If we miss it now, it'll be even harder to find later," Lena said...
