Chapter 1103: Carelessly

At this thought, Diras couldn't help but reveal a faint smile.

"Right, I'll just go beg Leon Merlin—just this once. As long as I can break through to Sky Rank and complete the final transcendence, it'll all be worth it..."

Having made up his mind, Diras gritted his teeth and chased after the direction Morgan had just flown off to.

Two days later, using Shadow Tower spells and tracking the frequency of pseudo-Sky Rank magical beasts encountered along the way, Diras finally traced the whereabouts of the Henry Family.

Coincidentally, Morgan was just thinking about negotiating with Leon, hoping that after gathering another hundred mana crystals, he could delay handing over two-fifths, and instead use all hundred crystals to trade for a drop of Beast God's Blood.

At that moment, Morgan was busy buttering up Leon, hoping to get him to loosen up, when Diras arrived...

Diras arrived just as Leon was engrossed in the Spellbook of Ages, searching for special spells—especially those that harness spatial power. The pseudo-Sky Rank mana crystals contained considerable spatial force; if he could master it, who knows what he could achieve.

As Diras and his entourage approached Leon's camp, a cloud of fire suddenly surged up around them, golden flames barring their way.

Fifty Battalion Mages, their bodies wreathed in golden fire, stood cold-faced and expressionless, fixing Diras with their gaze. Any sudden move from him, and they would strike without hesitation.

Behind the wall of flames, Hubert hefted Slaughter, his legendary warhammer, baring his teeth in a savage grin as he strode out. His face twisted into a ferocious scowl at Diras, his fists cracking loudly.

"That's the bastard! You have no idea—when we entered the temple, he actually dared to disrespect Lord Leon Merlin, talking all kinds of trash about him. If the great Hubert hadn't been there, maybe this idiot would have tried something sneaky against Lord Leon Merlin.

Now that he's come here, he must've tracked us, planning to ambush us. Whatever scheme he's plotting, let's take him out first and figure out his plot afterward."

Hubert hefted Slaughter, constantly stirring up the Fifty Battalion Mages, nearly painting Diras as Leon’s archenemy.

Kurum's face was cold as ice, and the Fifty Battalion Mages looked just as grim.

This group of former Merlin Family outcasts owed all their achievements to Leon; he was the sole reason for their rise. They were absolutely loyal—speaking ill of Leon was out of the question.

Egged on by Hubert's relentless incitement, the Fifty Battalion Mages looked ready to attack.

"Take him down, everyone! That guy's carrying several True Spirit Artifacts, and he's as slippery as one of those fish that love burrowing in mud."

Hubert let out a cold, sinister laugh, faint traces of blood-red light flickering around him as he prepared to strike.

Diras was so angry his face turned green, but remembering he was here to beg for help, he forced himself to suppress his rage and managed a weak smile.
