Ten water pillars chased after Evan Yang, attacking relentlessly. Even with his speed, as the gaps in the shrinking space closed in, there was nowhere to move. Faced with this situation, he had no choice but to fight head-on.
To fight head-on, he had to figure out how to defeat those things. Evan Yang flashed over to a massive creature. Since it was made of water, just as he tried to figure out how to break it, his whole body was wrapped inside.
At this moment, Evan Yang was like being underwater, but he couldn't break free—the creature's grip was extremely strong.
"So powerful," Evan Yang muttered to himself, trying to struggle free, but couldn't. He decided to use his attributes, and flames began to radiate from his body.
The flames enveloped him, slowly evaporating the water. Evan Yang walked out from the creature's body, and the massive creature broke apart on its own without attacking.
Outside, the Water Palace attendant exclaimed, "What kind of flame is that? How did he deal with them so easily?"
The curious Water Palace attendant kept watching the situation inside. Seeing that his flames could break through, Evan Yang was overjoyed. He quickly rushed at the remaining massive creatures. They weren't stupid—knowing his flames were dangerous, they tried to swim away, but Evan Yang dealt with them all in the end.
After he finished off all ten, Evan Yang smiled. He hadn't expected his flames to get him through so easily.
Just as Evan Yang thought he'd won, the Water Palace attendant outside laughed, "Impressive, but that's just the first step. There's more to come." "More?" Evan Yang showed a look of surprise and doubt. Suddenly, a much larger creature emerged from the underground water, at least ten times bigger than before.
Its strength was naturally much greater. Evan Yang was shocked. "So huge!"
That massive creature naturally attacked much faster, so Evan Yang could only keep looking for an opening, testing whether his flames would have any effect.
When Evan Yang found his chance, he leapt into its body. Although his flames burned inside, the destruction wasn't as strong as before. The creature trembled, clearly afraid of the flames, but the water surged fiercely, trying to extinguish Evan's fire.
Evan Yang tried to control his flames to prevent them from being extinguished. If they went out, he'd be trapped inside the creature again.
So Evan Yang kept strengthening his flames, while the massive creature intensified its water attacks against him.
The Water Palace attendant outside muttered, "This guy's flame really is special—it's so strong."
After a period of struggle, Evan Yang finally subdued the creature. It dissolved into water and merged with the rest.
Just as Evan Yang thought there was more, he appeared outside the water pillars, where the Blood Demon Shade and the Water Palace attendant were watching him.
"You're fire attribute?" the Water Palace attendant asked.
"That's right," Evan Yang replied.
"But you know, this is the Water Temple—we naturally accept water attribute disciples. You want to become a disciple? Who would teach you?" the Water Palace attendant asked.
Evan Yang hadn't expected things to go this way, so he quickly asked, "If I have water attribute, does that mean I can stay?"
"It's not about whether you do or don't—it's that you aren't, right?" the Water Palace attendant replied.
Evan Yang smiled. "If I do, then I can enter the Water Temple?"
"You could say that. But you're fire, not water. There's a big difference between the two," the Water Palace attendant said.
Just as the Water Palace attendant finished speaking, he saw something shocking—Evan Yang waved his hand and the water pillars froze solid. If he could freeze water, it meant Evan was at least water attribute.
The Water Palace attendant stared at Evan Yang in surprise. "You're also water attribute?"
"That's right," Evan Yang replied.
"You really are a special person. Consider yourself lucky—you can enter the Water Temple. Welcome, Number One Hundred," the Water Palace attendant said with a smile.
"Number One Hundred?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"That's right. Before you, ninety-nine others succeeded in entering, so you're the one hundredth," the Water Palace attendant explained.
Evan Yang finally understood and asked, "So, who should I take as my master next?"
"No rush. It's been tens of thousands of years since we've accepted a disciple. Since you meet the requirements, you'll be assigned one eventually. For now, I'll arrange a place for you to stay. Later, you'll be assigned a master," the Water Palace attendant said.
"Thank you, senior," Evan Yang said.
"Follow me. As for that one? It's best to keep it put away when there's nothing going on. Some people really hate that kind of creature," the Water Palace attendant told Evan Yang.
Evan Yang hadn't expected the Water Palace attendant to recognize it, which surprised him a bit.
Then Evan Yang put away the Blood Demon Shade and followed the Water Palace attendant. After a while, they arrived at an ocean.
To be precise, it was the ocean of an entire planet, with not a single landmass. But how could anyone live here? Evan Yang was very curious.
The Water Palace attendant said to Evan Yang, "See below? Those oceans are where the Water Temple lives—actually, it's at the bottom of the sea. I have something to take care of, so you'll have to go down yourself. Find a place called Coral Pavilion, say you were brought by Marina Wade, and they'll arrange a place for you to stay."
"Alright, got it. Safe travels, senior," Evan Yang said.
After the Water Palace attendant left, Evan Yang looked at the vast blue ocean, not knowing what was below. He could only dive down.
Evan Yang saw that below were all rocky outcroppings, along with some buildings.
“An underwater world?” Evan Yang muttered to himself. After a while, he spotted a huge boulder carved with the words ‘Coral Pavilion’.
“This must be the place,” Evan Yang murmured, and walked in. Behind the big boulder, everywhere was made up of small and large rocks.
As soon as he stepped inside, a voice suddenly called out ahead, “Who goes there?”
“Senior Marina Wade sent me here,” Evan Yang answered.
“Oh? A newcomer, huh? Come with me.” A figure appeared in front of Evan Yang, sizing him up before saying, “You’re pretty young—so you managed to pass the test?”
“Yeah, I passed,” Evan Yang replied.
“Lucky you, you’re the hundredth. Come on, I’ll take you to your residence. By the way, what’s your name?” the person asked.
“My name is Evan Yang,” Evan Yang said.
“Evan Yang? From the Immortal Realm?” the person asked.
“Yes,” Evan Yang replied.
“There are people here from all sorts of places—some from the Immortal Realm, some from the Devil Realm, some from the Demon Realm, and so on. So once you’re here, don’t start any internal strife, or you’ll have a bad time,” the person warned Evan Yang.
Evan Yang was surprised by this, but quickly calmed down. After all, the Water Temple didn’t belong to any faction—it was only part of the water attribute world.
As long as you had water attribute and could pass the test, you could naturally come to the Water Temple.
On the way, the person explained lots of rules to Evan Yang. Eventually, in a cluster of reefs, Evan Yang saw many stone caves. The person said, “This cave is your residence.”
Evan Yang discovered that his cave contained a certain power—not Immortal Source, but it felt useful for cultivation. He also noticed that other caves were the same.
Curious, Evan Yang walked in. After the person told him to stay inside, he left.
“Looks like no one’s lived here before.” After entering, Evan Yang found the cave was pretty spacious—he could easily make several separate rooms.
As Evan Yang was about to check out the environment, he noticed something in a corner and exclaimed, “Who’s there?”
