Collective Move to Newport City

1/4/2026

Lisa Li's hand, poised to open the door, suddenly froze.

Julia Yu spoke calmly, "Mr. Mo asked you to follow me, so of course it's my responsibility to keep an eye on you. If you get out of the car now, I'll report to Mr. Mo right away, and you may never see him again."

"You!" Lisa Li's chest heaved with anger. She turned and glared fiercely at Julia Yu. "You're so annoying, no wonder no man would ever want you!"

Julia Yu's expression didn't change. "Doesn't matter. I never planned on getting married. I can earn money and support myself, buy my own house and car, and save up for retirement. I even bought myself high medical and accident insurance. No matter what happens, I won't starve. So, whether a man wants me or not, what does it have to do with me?"

Lisa Li was nearly driven mad with anger. "Are you even a woman? If you are, how could you not want to get married?"

Julia Yu tilted her head at Lisa Li. "So in your eyes, women are that cheap, and can only fulfill themselves by marrying someone?"

"I'm done talking to you!" Lisa Li turned her head away in anger, but she really didn't dare to get out of the car and run anymore.

It had to be said, Julia Yu had hit her right where it hurt, forcing her to behave.

Julia Yu drove to the entrance of an apartment building, handed the prepared access card to the security guard, confirmed her identity, and only then did the guard lift the barrier for her to drive in.

After parking the car, Lisa Li got out.

Julia Yu carried box after box down from the car by herself, moving a solid seven or eight boxes in total.

Luckily, their car was big enough—otherwise, there’s no way all this stuff would’ve fit.

Lisa Li didn’t offer to help at all. Julia Yu just shook her head silently and carried each box upstairs. She opened the door to the apartment she’d prepared in advance and said to Lisa Li, "Your room’s next door. For a while, we’ll be living together. If you need anything, just call me—if I can come, I will. If I can’t, you’ll have to figure it out yourself."

After saying that, Julia Yu pushed her two boxes into her room.

The place was a two-bedroom apartment with a living room.

But the apartment was spacious enough—even with two bedrooms and a living room, it was over 150 square meters. Everything you could need was already there; you just had to bring your own stuff and move right in.

Julia Yu quickly made her bed, tossed her laundry into the washing machine, and started arranging her things one by one.

Julia Yu’s life was incredibly simple.

She brought a box of books, and another box with just a few clothes and two pairs of shoes. Anything else, she’d just buy when she needed it.

Lisa Li’s boxes were all luxury stuff—bags, shoes, jewelry, makeup.
