Five Words Descend from the Sky, Heavenly Ranking Top Eighty Thousand (Part Two)
“Stiff, way too stiff...” Senior Brother Mentor stood not far off, clicking his tongue and shaking his head nonstop. “This kind of twist, this kind of development, it’s just too forced. No logic, no reason—if you put it in a novel, you’re just padding the word count, practically scamming the readers. It’s neither clever nor subtle. If this was a movie, it’d be like ‘Megatron and the Decepticons fight all day just for a can of Red Bull—your energy is beyond imagination,’ the hardest of hard product placements. So yeah, stiff, it’s just way too stiff!”
Honestly, Senior Brother Mentor probably nailed what everyone was thinking—anyone with a normal brain can’t figure out what Chainsaw Girl is even trying to do. But you know how it goes, weirdos attract weirdos; only two die-hard oddballs can really spark off each other. Li Yuncong and Chainsaw Girl have almost identical logic, which is why they’re able to slap hands and team up so perfectly.
Chainsaw Girl barged in all fired up, just wanting to be the first to pledge loyalty and become the top lackey. Honestly, it’s hard to even describe what’s going on in her head... but Li Yuncong actually gets it!
Actually, it’s not that hard to understand—real superfans will fight each other just to be the first to meet their idol, shake their hand, you name it. It’s happened more than once.
Look, right now, Li Yuncong and Chainsaw Girl are still tangled up in a rolling ball of dust.
“Bossy! Bossy!” That way of talking was just too much, so Li Yuncong just dropped his battle mode. Chainsaw Girl jabbed his nostrils hard with her fingers, and Li Yuncong grumbled loudly, “You’re cheating! I was here first, I knew Her Majesty first, I was definitely the first to shake hands!” Then he turned to Jill Young, nearly in tears: “Your Majesty, we’ve been old pals since the Pacific World!”
“Nonsense! You’re just too soft! Is there any ‘first come, first served’ on the battlefield? I beat you and took first place, so first place is mine!” Chainsaw Girl’s face was all twisted from Li Yuncong pulling her cheeks, but she still managed to flash fan eyes at Yang Qi, making a ‘greater than and less than sign together (>▽<)’ face: “Your Majesty! Boss! I finally get to meet you! Ah, you actually looked at me? Eeeek—I could die happy right now!”
Bobby Brooks had just walked into the hall, looking totally speechless, covering his forehead and shaking his head. “Seriously... it’s like their brains never finished developing...”
Chainsaw Girl immediately added, “I want to be your right-hand woman, your number one underling—I’ll be the most loyal to you, guaranteed!”
“Number one underling?!” Hearing that, Bobby Brooks instantly couldn’t take it anymore. At the same time, the loudspeaker crackled with Glasses Girl’s angry shout: “You want to be number one? I haven’t even gotten that spot yet! You better get in line like everyone else!”
It was pure chaos, but once Jill Young spoke up, she finally managed to rein in the mess.
Chainsaw Girl calmed down, and so did Li Yuncong. Of course, even when they’re ‘calm,’ it’s basically like a normal person on a sugar high. They glared at each other, trading lines like, “Normally, I’d let it slide, but not this time!” and “A real man doesn’t fight with women, but I’m not backing down today!”
“Uh... I just woke up, so I’m not totally clear on what’s going on, but let me get my bit out first.” Jill Young decided to ignore the background noise and get to her point, and everyone sat up straight.
“First, personal business—Rachel.”
“Here!” Rachel Luo jumped to her feet, wanting to make a good impression on her mentor. (Should I call her ‘mentor’ or ‘aunt’? Honestly, I’m not sure, so I’ll just go with ‘mentor’ for now, like Grandpa Jin does.)
“While your master’s off-world, you’ll stick with me. My style’s not the same as his, but I can coach you just fine.” Jill Young waved her hand for her to sit down. “Don’t be so nervous, relax. You might not know me well, but I know you plenty—and you’ll see what I mean soon enough.”
“Yes, Mentor!” Rachel Luo sat down, feeling a little sweet inside. Looks like her master really cares—he must’ve given Jill Young a full rundown on her.
“Personal business done. Now—one more thing.” Jill Young glanced around. “Details will come from that little chubby guy later, but you know how he gets—he’ll talk your ears off for half an hour. So I’ll keep it short: I’m recruiting. You’re the first batch I’m looking at. Who’s in for some serious action?”
“Serious action?” Senior Brother Mentor frowned, his gaze growing deep. He glanced at Paladin beside him—no surprise there, looks like he’d already guessed, or maybe the guy behind him, Xiao Jingzhe, had. Checking the rest, nobody seemed too shocked, so Senior Brother Mentor started calculating his next move.
He stroked his chin, showing off his therapist flair, looking steady and reliable. “It’s a surprise to hear that, but if you think about it, it makes sense. Nobody here is clueless, and even though you haven’t explained everything, after what we saw in Shanghai and now, we get the gist. Still, when it comes to something this big—personal, life-changing—I think everyone needs a little more...”
Senior Brother Mentor hadn’t even finished his sentence when Chainsaw Girl and Li Yuncong shot up at the same time, hands raised high, shouting: "We’re in!"
The two locked eyes, then started showing off like cartoon characters on fast-forward, each trying to hog the spotlight: "Of course we’re in!" "Been waiting for this!" "No need to think twice!" "This is pure yang energy—let’s go all out!"
"These two..." Senior Brother Mentor slapped his forehead, all his careful planning blocked by these jokers. Can you really make such a big decision so rashly? Even a regular company gives you a few days to consider a job offer! He turned to Paladin and Rachel Luo: "Parents, quick, come rein in your kids!"
Rachel Luo just shrugged and smiled: "Nothing to consider. Master told me to follow Uncle-Master, so that’s what I’ll do."
"Alright, alright, I get it!" With Rachel Luo no help, Senior Brother Mentor looked to Paladin, hoping the steady knight would say something sensible. But Paladin nodded decisively: "I’m here on behalf of the Captain, to show his support."
"Captain?" Jill Young raised an eyebrow. "Don’t tell me Jasper Xiao’s started a knight squad?"
"Yes. On October 25th, Captain Jingzhe officially formed the Holy Light Knights." Paladin stood and gave Jill Young a formal bow: "Captain Jingzhe says he’ll fully support Her Majesty the Queen of Eternal Night, no matter the plan or what support is needed. That commitment won’t change."
"Whoa!" Liu Xiaoying gasped. "You mean the Holy Knight Jingzhe from the Heavenly Ranking Top Thirty? He’s got the chops to break into the Top Eight—making such a heavy promise shows serious trust!"
"Damn, he’s really going all in? Jingzhe’s not messing around!" Senior Brother Mentor glanced at Lone Wolf, who just shrugged. Then he looked at Liu Xiaoying, already prepping for a group selfie.
"Alright, alright, fine!" Senior Brother Mentor scratched his head in frustration, then gave up with a dramatic sigh: "Whatever, I trust my life coach! Count me in—let me rope in a few more friends. If we’re doing this, let’s do it together and go all out!"
"Ha! It’s settled then!" Jill Young clapped her hands, delighted. "Our organization is officially born today!"
"Long live! Long live!" The two jokers threw their hands up, cheering. Liu Xiaoying’s eyes sparkled as she rushed forward, her inner reporter ablaze: "Your Majesty, as the new leader of our organization, a top-tier Chosen One, and a future world-shaker, can I do a feature on your group? I’ll post it on the Global Observation Agency site for promo!"
"Hahaha—well said! You flatter me, and that idea’s great!" Jill Young burst out laughing, waving grandly. "Go ahead, ask away—this is my first interview ever!"
"Really? I’m honored!" Liu Xiaoying whipped out her camera and started filming like it was a vlog. Facing the lens, she said: "Hi everyone, I’m a special contributor for the Global Observation Agency. Today, we’re checking out a brand new Chosen One organization. The name is..."
Bobby Brooks immediately popped up off-camera with a giant cue card, gesturing frantically. The words "Tianyi" were so big even a blind man could read them.
Jill Young, sitting on her throne, snapped her fingers for the camera—cool as ever: "No One Under Heaven."
Liu Xiaoying caught on instantly: "That’s right, our group is called ‘No One Under Heaven.’"
Bobby Brooks collapsed in silent agony, while Jill Young just smirked. We’ve already got Eternal Night—how could we not have No One Under Heaven? Our banner’s going up across the multiverse!
"I don’t quite get the deep meaning behind that name yet, but it sure sounds cool. Now, let’s get to what everyone’s dying to know—members and power levels." Liu Xiaoying turned the camera to Lone Wolf: "Alright, let’s all introduce ourselves one by one!"
"Uh, hey folks, I’m ‘Laughing Overlord, Lone Wolf.’ Everyone calls me ‘Laughing Overlord’—ow! Who hit me? I’m bleeding! Cough, Liu Xiaoying, cut that part later, okay?" Lone Wolf wiped his face, then lit a cigar and tried to look deep and mysterious. "Anyway, I’m ‘Laughing Overlord,’ currently ranked fifteen thousandth on the Heavenly Ranking. Not too impressive yet, but next update, you’ll see my progress."
"Next up." The camera turned to Rachel Luo: "Senior Sister, introduce yourself!"
"Sure." Rachel Luo sat with poise, greeting everyone calmly: "Hi all, my ID is ‘MyMasterRules,’ currently ranked in the top five thousand on the Heavenly Ranking."
"Top five thousand, that’s impressive! Alright, next!"
"My turn?" Chainsaw Girl thumped her chest, her curves bouncing: "I’m ‘Chainsaw Zombie Slayer,’ Queen’s number one sidekick—currently top eight thousand on the Heavenly Ranking."
"Oh, please, you wish you were the top sidekick!" Li Yuncong barged into the frame, hogging the spotlight: "Forget her, she’s making it up! I’m top two hundred—I’m the Queen’s real number one! In No One Under Heaven, anyone below top eight thousand is just playing in the mud. If the Queen had a sidekick ranked that low, she’d lose face!"
"Say what, you jerk!" Chainsaw Girl snapped back: "Think my top eight thousand can’t knock out your top two hundred? Let’s take it outside and see whose ranking goes up!"
"Fine, let’s go! You think I’m still the same old me? I’ve battled Chun Bro, fought Zeng Bro, and smacked down Jia Junpeng. After hellish training, I’m back! Just wait till my transformation bar and swagger meter are full—I’ll teach you a lesson!"
Seeing the two about to brawl, Liu Xiaoying quickly changed the subject, pointing the camera at Jill Young: "Queen, what’s your take on the Heavenly Ranking?"
Jill Young’s cheerful grin dropped: "My opinion? Uh..." She hesitated, then slammed the armrest: "Heavenly Ranking means squat! Real power doesn’t need a ranking! Look at the Black Death Emperor—does he even have an official account? But who’d dare say he’s not number one? The glory we earn with our fists and feet—that’s the real deal!"
Liu Xiaoying got fired up: "Couldn’t agree more!"
Chainsaw Girl, Li Yuncong, Paladin, Senior Brother Mentor, and Lone Wolf all nodded in agreement. Rachel Luo was especially impressed—Uncle-Master really is just like Master in some ways. Master’s pride is quieter, Uncle-Master’s is bolder, but at the core, they’re the same.
People with that kind of spirit are true heroes of the age!
"By the way—" Jill Young lowered her voice, asking quietly: "How do you actually climb up the Heavenly Ranking?"
"Well, here’s how it works." Rachel Luo explained: "Nobody knows what methods the Global Observation Agency uses to set the Heavenly Ranking, but it’s definitely not just raw power. It’s based on your performance—every time you beat a tough opponent or achieve something big, your rank goes up. Not sure if stuff in other worlds counts, but everything on Earth definitely does. So really, it’s more like a record board than a power board."
"Record board? That makes sense!" Jill Young turned to Bobby Brooks: "Anyone nearby I’d love to punch?"
"Uh..." Bobby Brooks was stumped, but Jonathan Black strode into the hall, voice cold and sharp: "Just got word—there’s one. Not just a jerk, but the super jerk you’ve been asking about and we’ve been tracking for ages."
"Who is it?"
"The SD Organization."
"SD?! What are we waiting for!" Jill Young jumped up, full of energy: "Alright crew, grab your gear—move out!"
Top eighty thousand on the Heavenly Ranking? Forget that—time to grind my way up!
