I Will Favor a Different One Every Night
Brandon Xiao nodded and said, "Then let’s conduct an investigation. Azure Dragon Lord, Yuan Dragon Lord, please take everyone in my mother’s palace for questioning."
The two Dragon Lords accepted the order and left.
"Sean," Brandon called, "I’ve had your old palace cleaned up. You and your group can stay there for the night. By tomorrow, we should have results."
Sean nodded. "Thank you, big brother."
He took the three Sigil Sect members and Baxa to his former residence.
Everything here was different now.
It was obvious that after he left, the Divine Empress had repurposed his old quarters—there was no place for him in the Celestial Palace anymore.
Clearly, First Prince Brandon was trying to show Sean his sincerity and hoped he would return, so they could reconcile.
But how could you ever reconcile after an assassination attempt on the Divine Empress?
Lily Bai shook her head—First Prince Brandon was a bit too naive.
"What are you thinking about?" Sean asked.
Lily Bai replied, "This place... it’s not the same as before."
"Do you still remember how it used to be?"
"Of course I’ve been here!" Lily said. "Back then, His Majesty the Divine Emperor kept your place immaculate."
Sean’s expression dimmed, and he stayed silent.
Seeing this, Lily Bai took his hand. "Sorry, I shouldn’t have made you sad."
Sean shook his head and said nothing.
"Fifth Highness." Suddenly, a voice called from behind.
They turned around and saw a fairy-like woman—big eyes, small mouth, and a slender figure.
She was the woman from the Supreme Clarity Talisman that Yinshu had shown her, now First Prince Brandon’s newly appointed personal Divine Attendant.
"What is it?" Sean asked.
The woman smiled flawlessly, bowed, and said, "Fifth Highness, I am Rouxi, Divine Attendant to First Prince Brandon. He sent me to ask if you need anything—just let me know and I’ll take care of it."
Sean replied, "I don’t need anything, but please thank my big brother for me."
Rouxi nodded. "Then I won’t disturb you further."
With that, she left.
As she walked away, her willow waist swayed—her posture was downright seductive.
Lily Bai took the opportunity to use her Heaven’s Eye to check her out.
She was a wood-spirit immortal, with the cultivation of a High Immortal.
Nothing else really stood out...
Once Rouxi was out of sight, Lily turned around—and saw Yunqi.
He was busy assigning rooms to everyone.
"Hey! Skye, it’s been ages!" Lily Bai greeted him enthusiastically.
Skye glanced at her coolly and ignored her.
"Little Scale!" Lily walked over and threw an arm around his shoulder. "Hey, tell me—what’s it like, your link with Sean? Can you read his mind, or can he read yours?"
Skye turned to look at her. "He wants to crush me right now. So you’d better not do that."
"Huh? Crush you? Why?" Lily was baffled.
"Because... you’ve got your arm around my shoulder," Skye whispered in her ear. "He’s jealous."
Lily exaggeratedly turned to look at Sean—sure enough, his eyes were fixed on her hand.
"No way! Aren’t you his scale? Who gets jealous over their own scale?"
Skye gently removed her hand from his shoulder. "I’ll go make your beds. Get some sleep early tonight."
With that, he headed inside.
Lily Bai returned to Sean’s side, suddenly struck by a thought. "If one scale can turn into a person, then if all your scales could do that, you’d have a whole bunch of handsome guys!"
"One attendant is enough. Why would I need so many?" Sean asked, face darkening.
"So I could spend each night with a different one! Hehehe!"
