Locating the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain

"Then you might be disappointed," Liz Li said. "The Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain isn’t a weapon I use regularly—it’s always kept in the vault. There’s neither my sweat nor a single flake of my skin on it!"

Lily Bai replied, "No need to search through Her Majesty the Empress! We just need to use His Majesty the Demon Emperor instead."

"Him? Why?" Everyone was confused.

"It’s exactly what Young Master Drake just explained! The Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain is stained with His Majesty the Demon Emperor’s blood! So I can use him to perform the Reverse Tracking Art."

Liz Li said nothing, her gaze growing colder by the second.

Brandon Xiao said, "In that case, go ahead and cast your spell. If you really manage to find the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain, you’ll have done us a great service!"

Lily Bai was overjoyed. "I’ll need to draw a talisman first, please wait a moment!"

Brandon Xiao nodded.

So Lily Bai began drawing the talisman.

Faustin hadn’t said a word the entire time.

At this point, Faustin finally couldn’t help but ask, "What Young Lord Jiao said isn’t quite right. Us Rune Masters don’t use blood or flesh connections for tracking spells! Why did you agree with him?"

Lily Bai replied via sound transmission, "I asked him to say it that way."

Sean Shaw actually gets along pretty well with Gavin Yuan.

"What kind of game are you playing?" Faustin was even more confused. "How come I’ve never heard of any ‘Reverse Tracking Art’ in this world?"

"It doesn’t actually exist," Lily Bai answered again.

"Then what are you doing? What kind of talisman are you drawing?"

Lily Bai: "Just wait and you’ll see."

Faustin fell silent after that.

Lily Bai was drawing the talisman very slowly. Halfway through, Nine Li sent her a sound transmission: "Senior Sister! The Empress is leaving!"

Lily Bai looked up and glanced at Liz Li.

It looked like she’d spilled her tea, soaking her sleeve and leaving it dotted with tea leaves.

Apparently, she got up to go change her clothes.

Lily Bai’s lips curled into a faint smile as she kept drawing the talisman with total focus.

By the time she finished drawing, Liz Li had returned.

"Are you ready now?" First Prince Brandon Xiao asked.

Lily Bai said, "Ready."

"Then go ahead and find it!"

Lily Bai pressed the talisman into Sean Shaw’s body, raised her Rune Staff, and put on a dramatic show of spellcasting before announcing, "Everyone, follow me."

All the Gods in the hall followed her.

She flew straight toward Liz Li’s palace and landed in the rear courtyard.

Everyone exchanged bewildered glances. Could the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain really be here?

Sure enough, Lily Bai stopped under a big tree, wiped away the runes on an ancient well with her own blood, and a box slowly floated up from the mouth of the well.

She opened the box—and what else could it be but the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain?

"She really found it!"

"The Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain was actually hidden here in Liz Li’s place!"

"Looks like... it really was a frame-up!" The Gods were all whispering.

Baxa cried out in total indignation, "First Prince Brandon Xiao, did you see that? Did you see? They stole it themselves and tried to pin the blame on me!"

First Prince Brandon Xiao was silent for a long while. Then he turned around, face expressionless, and asked, "Mother, what’s going on here?"

Liz Li was visibly agitated. "I didn’t put it here! I... I don’t know how this happened! I have no idea!"

Brandon Xiao: "Mother, the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain was hidden in the concealed array in your backyard. Just saying you don’t know won’t convince anyone."

"My courtyard is protected by a barrier! Other than my palace maids and divine attendants, no one else can enter!" Liz Li said. "So, for the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain to show up here, we just need to interrogate them to get answers!"
