Princess Mira's Comic Blunder
Lily Evans lifted the carriage curtain, watching Princess Mira’s arrogant swagger. She couldn’t help but burst out laughing, secretly delighted at how she’d swindled Princess Mira out of a hefty sum—she was absolutely thrilled.
But this wasn’t the time to reveal the truth to Princess Mira. Stifling her laughter, Lily said, “Yes, yes, you’re absolutely right. I’m so angry I could burst.”
“Hahaha! I knew it—having your spotlight stolen must be driving you mad!” Princess Mira laughed triumphantly. “Lily Evans, this is just the beginning. My Suxin Pavilion will utterly defeat Eight Treasures Bistro. I’ll show you that you’re no match for me!”
Lily eyed Princess Mira’s clueless, cocky expression. Today, she was counting on Princess Mira to provide some comic relief. Holding back a laugh, she teased, “Oh, I’m just terrified! So scared, I’d better run away!”
With that, Lily dropped the curtain and signaled the driver to get moving.
Seeing Lily chicken out and leave, Princess Mira felt a surge of pride. She put her hands on her hips and shouted at Lily’s carriage, “Coward! Hmph, now you know just how formidable I am!”
The chef trailing behind quickly flattered her, giving a thumbs-up. “Princess, you’re amazing! So clever! I admire you from the bottom of my heart!”
Princess Mira was absolutely delighted, strutting back to Suxin Pavilion with her metaphorical tail held high.
Meanwhile, in the alley behind them, a pair of eyes had been watching the whole scene.
Cynthia Green had witnessed Princess Mira and Lily Evans face off. Hearing Princess Mira’s boast, she suddenly understood—Suxin Pavilion’s Princess Mira and Lily Evans were sworn enemies!
