Howard Liu Arrives

Lily's expression turned icy in an instant. May Parker had nearly killed Cynthia Wu, and now she had the nerve to show her face here!

"I'll go see what's happening!" Lily shot to her feet and strode into the yard, where Arthur Evans and Lucky were standing guard at the door.

Arthur Evans's face darkened. "You two, get lost! No need for your fake concern!"

May Parker cried out, fussing with the things in her basket. "What's wrong? I'm just visiting as a neighbor. Why can't I see her? What are you hiding? Feeling guilty?"

Arthur Evans snapped, "May Parker, don't think I won't touch you just because you're a woman!"

May Parker, unfazed, retorted, "Your wife is hiding something and got sick. How is that my fault? I came out of kindness, why do you always assume the worst about people?"

Lily squeezed through, glaring at May Parker, who was dressed up in flashy clothes and jewelry—things she couldn't possibly afford.

Lily glanced at May Parker's companion, Leonard Li, and noticed how close the two seemed. It was baffling—May Parker's reputation was utterly rotten, why would Leonard Li get involved with her? Even if Leonard was a bit wild, he wouldn't stoop to mixing with someone who'd been passed around by three classmates.

The two of them together looked downright odd.

"May Parker, stop pretending and get out of here!" Lily said, disgusted, eager to chase her away.

May Parker rolled her eyes at Lily, waving her handkerchief. "Lily, so what if you have a bit of money? Stop showing off and looking down on others!"

After speaking, May Parker openly linked arms with Leonard Li and shouted into the house, "Cynthia Wu, I'm about to marry Leonard Li—the very man you love! You couldn't marry your dream man, so you settled for a rough hunter. Does it hurt?"

Leonard Li played right along, raising his voice, "Cynthia Wu, I'm truly sorry, but I must marry May Parker. I had no choice but to return your token of affection through her. Forget about me! Maybe your husband is rough around the edges, but he's yours now. Move on and stop clinging to me!"

The shameless pair performed together, making Lily feel sick. Worried that Cynthia Wu might be upset, Lily hurried back inside, relieved to see she wasn't affected.

Cynthia Wu, though disgusted, stuck out her tongue and mimed vomiting. "I must've been blind to ever fall for that scum," she said, annoyed.

Seeing Cynthia Wu had moved on, Lily felt reassured.

Cynthia Wu asked Lily to open the window, then shouted with a smile, "As the saying goes, a tramp matches with a dog—may it last forever. A jerk matches with a chicken—inseparable. The mistress matches with a donkey—eternal love. You two are truly a perfect pair! May you live happily ever after!"

Outside, May Parker and Leonard Li were left speechless.

Lily gave Cynthia Wu a thumbs up and added, "Just a word of advice, Leonard Li—maybe you should transfer to another academy. Otherwise, you'll constantly run into three classmates who've slept with your fiancée. How awkward!"

Leonard Li's face turned beet red. He had planned to leave Green Sprout Academy for Wutong Academy because it was better, but now Lily's words made it seem like he was avoiding his fiancée's exes.
