Firestorm Battalion's First Battle

12/2/2025

"Oh? Prince Ling thinks I can't do it?" Alexander Hayes suddenly burst into laughter. Prince Ling was horrified to see that atop the walls of Prince of Qin's Manor, a silent line of soldiers had appeared. Each soldier held a shield in one hand to block arrows and, in the other, wielded a weapon identical to Alexander's. Countless dark, ominous barrels were quietly aimed at the Red Tassel Army and Royal Guards outside...

Prince Ling and everyone else had witnessed the power of those mysterious weapons. Now, seeing so many of them pointed their way from the wall, everyone was scared out of their wits.

Prince Ling trembled, grabbing people from both sides to shield himself.

Alexander Hayes sneered at Prince Ling's cowardice, "Your Highness Prince Leonard, I can have as many of these weapons as I want. Do you really think hiding behind all those people will save your life? I can still blast your head to pieces!"

"No...!" Prince Ling barely got the word out before a sharp whistle sounded. The soldiers froze, not knowing what it meant, and then, in perfect unison, thunderous blasts erupted from the top of Prince of Qin's Manor. Countless mysterious weapons fired at the flesh-and-blood soldiers below, who were utterly defenseless—like lambs before a ruthless butcher!

Some soldiers panicked, dropped their weapons, and tried to run for their lives.

But no one expected those mysterious weapons to have such incredible range! The fleeing soldiers fell one after another as they ran, and in just a few moments, every soldier surrounding Prince of Qin's Manor was wiped out.

It was as swift and ruthless as a raging wind sweeping away fallen leaves.

Amid the deafening blasts, Prince Ling crouched on the ground, eyes shut, ears covered, unable to move.

When the noise finally stopped, Prince Ling opened his eyes, terrified, and stared at the corpses strewn all around him.

All the men Prince Ling brought with him were dead.

They died so quickly that Prince Ling, a man of ancient times, could hardly comprehend it.

The mysterious weapons Alexander Hayes possessed were far beyond Prince Ling's understanding. Prince Ling stared at Alexander, utterly terrified and mentally shattered.

For the first time, Alexander's three thousand Firestorm Battalion soldiers went into battle. In less than a minute, they annihilated all six thousand troops surrounding Prince of Qin's Manor.

The three thousand Firestorm Battalion soldiers were completely unharmed.

Under Prince Ling's horrified gaze, Alexander Hayes strode out over the corpses, looking every bit like a war god descended to earth. He gazed down at the pale-faced Prince Ling and said, "Your Highness Prince Leonard, I hear you wanted to kill me."

Prince Ling, terrified, crawled on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly to Alexander Hayes. "Prince Hayes, please spare me! Have mercy! I was only following orders—my father the Emperor made me do it! I've just been named Crown Prince, you can't kill me! If you do, it will be regicide!"

"Oh? So you've been named Crown Prince? That's wonderful news. Allow me to congratulate you." Alexander Hayes pulled an Imperial Decree from his sleeve and tossed it at Prince Ling's feet. "Sign it, leave your handprint, and stamp it with your Personal Seal, Your Highness Crown Prince."

Prince Ling trembled as he opened the Imperial Decree. After reading it, all color drained from his face. "This... this is impossible... Alexander Hayes, how dare you..."

"What wouldn't I dare?" Alexander Hayes smiled faintly at Prince Ling. "Either sign it, or die. Choose."

Prince Ling looked at Alexander Hayes as if he were a demon from hell. He knew Alexander wasn't joking. Faced with death or compromise, Prince Ling immediately gave in, signing, stamping his handprint, and affixing his Personal Seal to the Imperial Decree, just as Alexander demanded. Then, still trembling, Prince Ling pleaded, "I've done everything you asked. Please, spare my life!"
