"We've arrived." Because they were traveling so quickly, Cyrus finally stopped on the eleventh day.
Before them lay only a stretch of void, nothing remarkable in sight. As Joe Di was still puzzled, Cyrus raised his hand and tossed out another array flag. Soon, a faintly discernible planet appeared before Joe Di.
Joe Di didn't need to ask; he knew Cyrus must have set up a contingency here long ago. Otherwise, a single array flag couldn't possibly reveal a planet hidden in the void.
Cyrus chuckled and offered, "Maybe it has something to do with my old tricks. Back in the day, I always left myself a backup plan, just in case. The Bay of Legends is one such place. I never expected that it wouldn't come after me, but instead, it came after you, Brother Joe."
Joe Di didn't ask what kind of tricks Cyrus was referring to; he simply stared in astonishment at the planet before him. Strictly speaking, it wasn't a planet, but rather a floating continent suspended in the void.
Even without stepping onto the continent, Joe Di could sense that its laws of heaven and earth were even more complete than those of the Taiji Realm. This struck him as rather peculiar.
Around the continent, layers upon layers of atmosphere wrapped it, and faintly, a massive plaza could be seen hidden within the layers of atmosphere.
"Are you wondering why the Bay of Legends, a floating continent hidden in the void, possesses such complete laws of heaven and earth?" Sensing Joe Di's confusion, Cyrus took the initiative to ask.
Joe Di nodded. "That's right. From what I understand, the Bay of Legends is clearly located in an incomplete world, just a broken floating continent at best. Why are the laws of heaven and earth here so complete? It's truly surprising to me."
Cyrus replied calmly, "Don't be surprised. In fact, this has long been common knowledge. The cultivators of the Bay of Legends are notoriously ruthless—far worse than me. When I act, there's always a reason and a target; I only take revenge on those who have wronged me, and only to the extent of their offense. But the Bay of Legends is different. If one of their disciples is killed, they will wipe out the entire planet of the perpetrator."
As for this floating continent of the Bay of Legends, it was originally just a place governed by low-level laws. The Bay of Legends forcibly extracted the origins and fortune from the highest-grade planets and stuffed them into this place. Countless worlds perished, and only then did the Bay of Legends become what it is today."
Joe Di drew a sharp breath. He had always thought the Bay of Legends was ruthless in refining the Primeval Realm, but he hadn't imagined it was this cruel. To keep stripping away planetary origins and fortune—how many lives would be lost?
Cyrus sneered, "The Bay of Legends is simply courting its own destruction. Don't be fooled by how prosperous it seems; I'm sure they have over a hundred Third Step cultivators. But so what? The Third Step cultivators produced here are just for show. Or, you could say they're only a bit stronger than fake Third Steps. If the Bay of Legends hopes to dominate the universe with these so-called elites, they're far from it. The Bay Family's old ancestor knew better, but the younger generation is far less wise."
"Over a hundred Third Step cultivators?" Joe Di fell silent once more.
He had encountered Third Step cultivators from the Bay of Legends before. If there were four or five, maybe even seven or eight, he was confident he could defeat them. But with over a hundred, there was no way he could destroy the Bay of Legends. It seemed he'd overestimated himself. If Cyrus hadn't come, he might have fought the Bay of Legends to mutual destruction, and in the end, a horde of powerful enemies would have escaped to annihilate the Taiji Realm.
Cyrus, an old monster, could read Joe Di's expression and knew his concerns. He smiled again, "Brother Joe, in a one-on-one fight, I'm definitely not your match. But when it comes to killing, you can't compare to me. If you came alone, you definitely couldn't destroy the Bay of Legends. Not only that, you'd end up suffering a backlash and both sides would be severely wounded. But with me here, it's different. Among those the Bay of Legends fears most, I'm definitely in the top three. To prevent anyone from escaping, I suggest we first use a trapping array to lock down the Bay of Legends."
Joe Di shook his head. "It won't work. With over a hundred Third Step cultivators—not to mention the Dao Fusion ones—they could tear through any trapping array we set up in just ten breaths. No matter what kind of array we use, it won't hold them."
Cyrus nodded. "You're right, but ten breaths is more than enough time for me to kill everyone here ten times over."
Joe Di looked at Cyrus in surprise. Could this guy be the Calamity Lord? He'd driven Calamity Lord's disciple, Owen Jarvis, away before, but that didn't seem all that impressive.
Even though he was deeply puzzled, Joe Di still didn't ask about Cyrus's origins. Instead, he pulled out a handful of array flags and said, "I can set up the trapping array, but the Bay of Legends is so vast, it'll take me at least a month to do it alone."
Cyrus shook his head. "No need. Just seal off the exits of the Bay of Legends—leave the rest to me."
Joe Di had wanted to help, but after hearing Cyrus, it seemed there was nothing he could do. Still, Joe Di was curious to see if Cyrus was truly as formidable as he claimed.
One array flag after another was tossed down by Joe Di. To seal off the exits of the Bay of Legends, he barely had to exert himself. In just half a day, he had set up a ninth-level divine array.
"Brother Joe, your array mastery is incredible—I'm nowhere near your level. No wonder you could leave the Grandway Abyss so easily." Seeing the array Joe Di had set up, even Cyrus drew a sharp breath.
Before Joe Di could respond, he saw the atmospheric layers on both sides suddenly thin, and a vast, imposing continent appeared before his eyes.
"They've noticed. It seems that besides Gavin Bay, the Bay Family has produced a few other talents after all." Cyrus said nonchalantly, then stepped onto the massive plaza outside the Bay of Legends.
Joe Di followed and landed beside Cyrus.
A man with dark skin and an imposing presence also landed at the edge of Joe Di's array. Moments later, four or five powerful cultivators appeared behind him. Joe Di didn't even need to use his divine sense to know they were all Third Step experts.
After these people appeared, they didn't attack Joe Di's array immediately. Instead, they stared coldly at Joe Di and Cyrus and said, "What are you two doing? Coming to our Bay of Legends and sealing off the Bay Family's exits with a trapping array?"
The sarcasm in his tone was unmistakable; clearly, he didn't take Joe Di or Cyrus seriously. Even though Joe Di had trapped the Bay of Legends' exit with a ninth-level divine array, it made no difference. As the Bay Family Patriarch, James Bay had every reason to look down on them.
Joe Di replied coldly, "I'm the Dao Lord of the Taiji Realm. Your people from the Bay of Legends have attacked my realm's defensive array for over a century, trying to destroy us. So you tell me—what do you think I'm here for?"
"Where are my people?" James Bay reacted quickly, immediately sensing something was wrong. If the Taiji Realm had been destroyed, Bei Jiyu and Bei Ku should have reported back long ago. Why did they only learn of this now, when someone had come knocking on their door?
"I killed them." Joe Di said calmly, summoning his Azure Veil Blade. He didn't really believe the Bay of Legends had over a hundred Third Step cultivators, but if they made a move, he'd simply charge in and fight.
"Courting death..." James Bay roared in fury, unleashing his artifact directly at Joe Di's killing array, while also activating the Bay Family's top Slaughter Token. What angered him even more was the possibility that Bei Jiyu, Bei Ku, Bei Yifei, and Paul Bay had been killed, and the disciple guarding the Bay Family's soul tablets hadn't reported it to him.
Bei Jiantou unleashed his artifact, and the cultivators behind him did the same. In the next instant, countless shadowy figures rushed toward the exit of the Bay of Legends' defensive array.
Cyrus sneered and waved his hand, casting one profound technique after another.
Before Joe Di could make sense of what was happening, Bei Jiantou's expression shifted from rage to terror, then turned deathly pale. He even froze mid-action, pointing at Cyrus with a trembling hand, "You—you, it's you..."
