Nolan Nangong took out a purple transmission jade from his storage ring, channeled Immortal Spirit Force into it, and wrote something on its surface. After a few breaths, the jade glowed with purple light and then vanished completely.
Evan Chu found the Immortal Realm's transmission jades absolutely fascinating, but he didn't have one himself, which was a bit frustrating. These transmission jades were usually custom-made by Treasureforge Sect, so he figured he’d have to get a few made in the future—just in case something urgent came up and he needed to notify everyone quickly.
"Alright, Jade Qin should be able to reach Martial Spirit Dominion within a day. I’m really curious how you plan to handle wraiths—those things are the biggest headache for anyone in the Immortal Realm. Every Immortal–Demonic war, it’s the wraiths that give us the most trouble," Nolan Nangong said.
"I’ve got the Firmament Light Mirror—brought it out from the Emerald Immortal Empress’s treasure. It’s a top-tier artifact, especially powerful against dark creatures, so you don’t need to worry. Just watch how I deal with those wraiths when the time comes," Evan Chu replied with a grin.
"In that case, let’s just wait for her here. It’s been ages since I had a drink with you, Evan—why don’t we have a proper round tonight? There’s nothing else we need to do right now anyway," Nolan Nangong suggested.
"Sounds perfect! I haven’t let loose in ages either—the taste of Celestial Nectar Jadewine is almost a distant memory. Tonight’s the perfect chance to indulge," Evan Chu laughed.
The three of them headed into Nolan Nangong’s study, drinking and chatting the night away. During their conversation, Evan Chu asked about Immortal Beasts and Demonic Realm incursions, and the other two shared everything they knew.
After hearing the situation, Evan Chu already had a plan in mind. If the upcoming Immortal Beast war went well, he wanted to send Roxanne Lin back to the Phoenix Clan to receive their pure inheritance. But there was still plenty of time before the war, so he’d need to find a way to break through himself in the meantime.
Instead of going back to his room, Evan Chu sat atop the roof of Martial Spirit Dominion’s grand hall, with Nolan Nangong keeping him company. After all, Jade Qin would be arriving overnight, and it’d be bad if she couldn’t find them when she got here.
"Brother, what do you think about the stars up there? Stellar Power is insanely strong—have you ever thought about trying to borrow it?" Evan Chu asked.
"Stellar Power really is strong, but the chance of borrowing it is slim. To draw on Stellar Power, you have to resonate with the stars themselves, and they're way too far from us. Achieving resonance is basically impossible—unless you have some wild idea?" Nolan Nangong said.
Evan Chu had more than just an idea—he had Big Dipper star-points inside him and had already resonated with one of the stars. He could borrow Stellar Power anytime, but if he did it wrong, the energy backlash would be terrifying. Otherwise, with his strength, Evan wouldn't fear anyone.
"I've definitely thought about it, but I haven't mastered it yet. Honestly, I don't even know how to use a spatial domain—that's what's been driving me crazy. You've been a late-stage Immortal Emperor for years, Nolan, so you must have plenty of insights. Mind sharing a few pointers with me?" Evan Chu grinned.
Nolan Nangong was obviously shocked by Evan's admission. For him not to have grasped spatial domain was almost impossible—most cultivators could use it, and it was a basic skill. For a genius like Evan not to know it was definitely strange.
"You're not joking with me, are you? Spatial domain is super common; almost everyone can use it. Only the more complex domains are less understood—you need to master several elements for those, and they're really powerful. If you get caught in someone else's domain, it's hard to escape," Nolan Nangong explained.
"I'm being serious. I've wanted my own domain for ages, but I have no clue how to make it happen. What exactly are the requirements for using a domain? Please just tell me straight, Nolan—I'm genuinely asking for advice." Evan Chu gave an awkward laugh.
Nolan Nangong gave Evan a puzzled look before answering, "Spatial domain is obviously connected to the space elements you control. As everyone knows, there are nine major elemental attributes: the five main elements—metal, wood, water, fire, earth—as the core ones."
Wind, lightning, darkness, and light are the four rare attributes. Most people’s spatial domains are built on the five main elements, which can sometimes stack as Double or even Triple Domains. Only a few experts can use rare-attribute domains.
Back when you faced Hector Vaughn, he’d grasped a dark-attribute domain. But his Dark Domain wasn’t complete and didn’t have much elemental attack power. A true spatial domain isn’t just about pressure—it’s about elemental attacks within the domain.
For example, inside a Fire Domain, you have to withstand both crushing pressure and the damage dealt by the fire element itself. But so few people can pull this off—even I can’t. Only ancient immortals from bygone eras could do it.
Usually, once you unleash a spatial domain, you can’t move or attack at the same time—the domain itself is a massive attack. It’s like trying to throw a punch and use a palm strike at the same time; it just doesn’t work. Does that make sense?"
Evan Chu was still confused. He understood everything Nolan Nangong was saying, but none of it was actually useful. "Nolan, how do you actually form a spatial domain? That's the method I need. I get everything else you said," Evan pressed.
Nolan Nangong was briefly stunned, then laughed, "Once you comprehend elemental power, forming a domain comes naturally. Domains are controlled by your spiritual will—just borrow the elemental power you've grasped. The stronger your will, the wider your domain. It's really simple, Evan—are you messing with me?"
Evan Chu didn’t reply. He mulled over Nolan Nangong’s words—he could easily resonate with any element, but couldn’t borrow their power. Maybe resonance wasn’t needed; maybe just controlling them would work?
With that thought, he tried controlling the fire element molecules around him. In just a few breaths, he gathered them together, forming a massive fireball. Nolan Nangong was a little shocked at the sight.
"Evan, I didn’t expect your mastery of fire element to be this intense. For you, grasping a Fire Domain should be a breeze. But spatial domain isn’t about gathering element molecules—it’s about releasing the energy inside them, and that’s based on your own strength.
The stronger you are, the more elemental power you can release, and the stronger your domain will be. You just need to figure out how to release elemental energy. It sounds simple, but it’s actually pretty tough—you’ll have to work it out yourself!" Nolan Nangong advised.
Evan Chu felt like he was finally starting to get it, and was just about to try when Jade Qin’s voice rang out, "What exactly are you trying to figure out?"
